You know what would be a great experiment ? If you put a normal camera there in the hole instead of the fingerprint camera and try and take a photo, see how the photo would turn out.

The only reason brands remove headphone jacks is to increase sales of their dongles and wireless earbuds like apple. Or to decrease the price and save money like Chinese phones started to do.

Fingerprint reader is just a camera,... Maybe OnePlus might drastically improve that camera and make it a selfie camera ... And make it completely bezel less. Hoping to see this in OnePlus 7T or 8. Not 7 though ...

This is awesome tech and it's the road map to under screen selfie cam. The notch will become a thing of the past soon.

Very cool. It’s great to see that the in-screen fingerprint sensor can still be a option. Face ID unlock on iPhones is great for when it works. But if it doesn’t read the first scan or isn’t easy to adjust so that it can work correctly, it’s frustrating, slower, and inconvenient. The fingerprint scanner needs to still be an option for us, at least for now.

I just realised something, if the LED's let light pass through from the top, then that means you could have a LED screen that's entirely (partially) clear, allowing you to see the internals of the phone, from the front of the phone when the screen is turned off. Am I the only one who thinks this would be awesome?

This is not your first time disassembling this exact phone in full :) On 1 min you can see on the top left corner the aluminium cover has fingerprints on it that did not came from making the transparent cover in the last video. Now we learned something, first you tear down the phone, see if everything goes smoothly and than you do it again on camera so it all flows perfectly :) Love your videos btw, its like asmr but with tech and your voice :)

To be honest with you. I have tried fingerprint scanners on the front of phones and the ones on the back. I was a fan of the front fingerprint scanner.. but now that I've gotten used to the Galaxy Note 9 back fingerprint scanner.. I ACTUALLY FIND IT MORE USEFUL IN MORE SITUATIONS THEN THE FRONT.. When I go to pick my phone up even in my pocket my finger is already on the fingerprint scanner so it's already open before I get it out of my pocket. Also when my phone is in the car windshield holder I have my fingerprints record it for my middle finger and index finger on both hands. All I have to do is touch the fingerprint scanner on the back with either fingers or either hand any direction it doesn't matter and it opens perfectly and seems more convenient than the front.. So to each his own. I guess it all depends what you like and what you used to but it's not critical.. What is critical IN MY OPINION PHONES NEED FINGERPRINT SCANNERS YOU'RE NOT ALWAYS LOOKING AT YOUR PHONE WHEN YOU NEED TO OPEN IT.. your phone can be at a slight angle the fingerprint scanner is a necessity to me I use it more than any unlock feature.. I must say the combination intelligent scan for the Samsung Note 9 Works fantastic even in the dark.. If I am relatively in front of my phone in my car just sitting in my seat. the phone opens automatically by looking at my face and I'm about 2 to three 3 away!! Now I'm hooked on the Galaxy Note S-Pen Drew tons of pictures and they teach you how to draw. I haven't been a artist my whole life all I could only draw stick figures LOL.. but now I can draw a lot of stuff and it's a lot of fun. To me it's the Galaxy Note series or nothing now.. Samsung an Android put Apple to shame in so many different ways. the experts have spoken saying Apple phones are the same old thing over and over again and not to mention they're usually 2 to 3 years behind in technology!!! almost everybody who does the Android vs apple challenge for a couple of weeks like sakitek. they always go back to the Samsung or Android phone once you know what they can do and how much fun they are, with the Innovations, hardware, software, customizations, and the complete entertainment package.. YOU JUST DON'T GO BACK TO APPLE!! No wonder why market share is 88% Android worldwide, and Samsung alone sells more phones than Apple... I guess people are starting to catch on FINALLY!! But it will be impossible to get the kids elementary school, high school and college to catch on BECAUSE KIDS ARE FOLLOWERS NOT LEADERS THEY JUST BUY SOMETHING CUZ THEIR FRIENDS HAVE IT NOT BECAUSE IT'S INNOVATIVE OR WORTH THE MONEY! IT'S REALLY SAD HOW THIS GENERATION IS.. ;)

removing the headphone jack but at least you have a COMPLETELEY USELESS second camera for something that doesn't need a second sensor at all.

Nice of you to show how the fingerprint sensor work. I noticed the area the camera is placed is translucent not transparent. Will allow enough light to pass for a fingerprint sensor, but not clear enough for a selfie camera.
