I bought this pad and I’m completely happy with it, I do motorcycle camping and I find the pad to be very comfortable.. only issue I have is when I use the bag provided it sounds like I’m killing an animal it squeaks and squeals like a animal being killed, I honestly wondered if that would attract predators 😂 And I did add rubber dots to the back so it wouldn’t slip and slide as easily. But far as comfort and warmth I give it a 100 %

So far this pad had treated me quite well. I have owned it now for 9 months, and have no issue. I plan on doing a complete review (as this was just a preview) this fall , once I have taken it though all the seasons, and different conditions.

Thank you for your review. I watched your video several weeks ago. OneTigres has been a product that has generally surprised me. I purchased this pad and used it in combo with the Onetigres down blankets (2) and slept comfortably throught a 12deg F night.

Got this about a month ago for an upcoming trip to Yosemite in April thus I haven’t tried it in the field. Very good video and test, like others have mentioned is nice to see a video of someone trying it out in the field. Thanks

Hi and thank you for the great presentation, very useful. Curious about the thermometer, can you tell me more, what is this? I was in the tent just a week ago and used something of that type but your gadget registered the lowest temperature which I could not have registered. Namely, I also was cold somewhere in the early morning but was lazy to check the temperature, and later realized it was quite high, and was confused by the fact that I was cold during the night. Most likely there was a similar drop as in your case.
@bosqueenet
@bosqueenet 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching! I purchased the thermometers for $15 for the set on Amazon amzn.to/4c0b35k. They are fridge/freezer thermometers. They seem to work well, however they quickly pick up the heat from your hands as you fiddle with them.

Awesome video quick question what was the comfort like ?
@bosqueenet
@bosqueenet 6 месяцев назад
For me, very comfortable... I am about 180 lbs, and it was able to handle my weight and distribute itself pretty well. When laying down, I never "bottomed out", I am a side sleeper too, so, in all I thought it was quite nice... Still have much more testing to do.
@philware1546

Others have said the way its stitched together means its easy for your body to touch the ground. You didnt mention this. Quite the opposite.
@bosqueenet
@bosqueenet 2 месяца назад
Thanks for reaching out. I have had an experience or two where I have sunk through the pad... and let me tell you when this happens, all the cold comes rushing in. Now, I do not blame the pad, I blame myself for not inflating the pad enough. I have seen a review here where the individual did not appear to be adequately inflating the pad either, and it can lead to a poor nights sleep. As far as the stitching or pad design, I prefer this design... it is most comfortable to me. This may not be the case for others. The trick (or learning curve) with this pad is to be sure it is properly inflated before calling it a night. I would still recommend this pad to anyone looking for a budget insulated sleeping pad. If you check out my "Return to The Creek-Side" adventure (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nwCNctyxCak.html) and skip ahead to 37:47, you will see me talk about the need to ensure the pad is inflated properly. Thanks again for reaching out... I hope this helps.
@philware1546

@@bosqueenet I thought this issue was not inflating it enough too. It shouldn't collapse down to the ground! Thanks. 👍

Where can we find a link to the entire SGS test report of this pad?
@CazSoma
@CazSoma 19 дней назад
Searching for the test number SL12400250254201TX on the SGS website reveals no certification of that name.
@CazSoma
@CazSoma 19 дней назад
Also... Looking up available mats with an r value of 6.2, which the Obsidian claims the test revealed 2:41 it to have shows only one product. The Ether Light XT Extreme Rectangular Mat, which is a similar colour and style as this mat. As the image of the test no longer shows up online I'm guessing it's potentially a fake that's fooled the OP. A similar mat would be easy to Photoshop.

Thanks for reaching out, Yes, I did purchase this pad with my own money. It was not provided to me. Yes, this initial video was an "out of the box" preview, I figured I would put it through it's paces quickly. Now I am trying to quantify it's longevity. So far so good, Though the weather here is starting to get a bit warm, and the insulated pad is a bit overkill for the weather.

Thank you very much for the complement. Now, I a still new at this, and always think there is room for improvement... As with all new products that come to market, I think there is a race between all the content creators, as to who will have the first review/preview.... I did call mine a "preview", as I still have loads of testing that I want to do. I think I lucked out with having a trip planned, the OneTigris Obsidian arriving, and the weather deciding to snow buckets on me, with the temperature dropping to near Zero. I really do appreciate what Luke (TOGR) does for the Outdoor Gear space, I don't think he pulls his punches. I am kinda jealous that he has a "Loan Wolf Mountain" as his back yard. ... maybe one day, I could be fortunate to have one of those too.
@libturdcrusher1776
@libturdcrusher1776 6 месяцев назад
I understand. No disrespect to Luke in any way. A lot of stuff he has reviewed has been very useful. I am just excited to see that someone such as yourself actually tested this mat out in real conditions. I have been on the fence about getting one of these for quite some time and just wanted to be sure about wasting my money, because a lot of this Amazon stuff is just trash. Again, thank you for this awesome and full review. @@bosqueenet

Thank you for the review! Quick question, so what sort of pad(s) were you using before this? Just so I can have a something to compare against because sometimes it isn't only about money saving but buying something that will perform to certain level at the minimum. Cheers.

I have used 3 other pads, 2 of which you can see me using In my videos. I first purchased a Trekology UL sleeping pad, while it was comfortable, it was too narrow for me, and provided no insulation. I then purchased a Meetpeak sleeping pad, It is good for the summer, has no insulation, but is wider than most 1 person sleeping pads. I then have a self inflating sleeping pad, that I typically use when I bring a cot on my adventures, just so I have some extra padding.
