I found out about Onewe late last year but they’ve VERY quickly climbed up my bias list and now are fighting with SVT for my ult group 😭 I’m not too sure about other k-bands but for Onewe they are completely self-formed (AND self-produced can you believe that) so they entered their current company as a full group already. A little bit about their formation story (because it’s LITERALLY something out of a drama): Kanghyun and Harin became friends at their music academy and invited CyA (pronounced key-ah), who also entered the academy at a later time, to join their band. CyA then invited his neighbor and childhood friend Dongmyeong to join as the keyboardist and vocalist. They played as a session band for a singing contest where Yonghoon was a contestant (Yonghoon won!!). They were so impressed by Yonghoon’s voice that they invited him to join their band and he said yes, so now we have Onewe 🥲 (Also the four of them were all teenagers so the mental image of a bunch of kids inviting 20-something year old Yonghoon to join their band over a cup of coffee is so funny) Yonghoon my guy. Where to start. His voice is absolutely gorgeous. Harin’s drumming fits each song so well and he is Talent. Oh the guitar god? His name is Kanghyun and (imo) the best guitarist in the kpop industry now. Dongmyeong alternates playing with his keyboard and keytar (the keyboard/guitar looking instrument)! CyA (my bias? but the others are all eyeing that spot) is quite literally a genius. He, Yonghoon, and Kanghyun compose, produce, and write the majority of their songs, which, as you’ve heard, are all absolute bangers. They’ve had comeback stages on some music shows but I don’t think they could play live then because it takes a lot of time to set up their instruments and the music shows usually don’t like(?) that 😢 However they recently had a concert and….. oh boy. Oh BOY was it an Experience. Sorry for the extremely long comment I just am so attached to Onewe right now and I just love them a lot 🥲 If you read up to here and want to check out a guide I recommend the one by Ollie 0094 called “Onewe Guide | One band, five members, many reasons to love them!” It’s slightly outdated but it has all the best info and helped me a lot when I was learning about Onewe! Edit: fixed grammar mistakes bc I was too excited 😭

I was pronouncing Cya as “see-ya” at first but i believe it’s “key-ah”. Harin is also a light “r” like between an l/r. A flick of the tongue halfway through. Kanghyun is the one shredding. He writes his own guitar solos. He also has some pretty good vlives you can find of his improv. Onewe also met naturally through being friends in school + some band competitions. They might have a different origin for kbands than others.

Must hit that thumb button for checking profiles in advance.👍👍👍 Here's a small story behind their debut: ONEWE is a self-formed band starting with Kang Hyun, Ha Rin and Cya (pronounced as "Key-Ya"). They went to the same Music Academy. Dong Myeon is Cya's neighbor (Their parents still live in the same neighborhood😆). Together they met Yong Hoon on a Kpop contest, where YH won first prize. This band were first called MAS 0094 (MAS stands for "Make a Sound, and 0094 was from the birth years of the oldest and youngest members.) Later the name was changed to MAS after they started their "formal" training at RBW. During this period, they trained together with ONEUS boys, which is why they are very close to each other. I am sure nobody will deny that ONEWE is a talented band, since they wrote their own songs and performed them VERY well. Their live performances are just...PERFECT, like speechlessly perfect. These boys were born for stage.

I see most here in the comments already answered all your questions mainly but there is one I haven't really seen an answer to lol that instrument in Veronica that you were confused about is actually called a keytar which is like a lightweight synthesizer, it was actually created in the late 1970s I believe? (Someone correct me if i'm wrong) and became really popular in the 80's and was used quite a lot then. Besides that, I have nothing else to say except that I am so extremely glad you checked out Onewe and loved them! They are one of my two ult groups (the other being A.C.E) and they really deserve so much more love and recognition than they're getting right now! They're all so passionate about music, it's truely so inspirational and heartwarming to see. I hope you can do a guide for them, that would be fun! If you do, i'd recommend "Onewe Guide | One band, five members, many reasons to love them!" by Ollie 0094 because it's the best at showing off their talents as well as their personalities i'd say!

Kanghyun (the guitarist) is a well-trained artist. His guitar training is high and it always shows in their music videos but when you really see him shine is on Twitter. He posts some of the covers he does or his brainstorming sessions, and I can safely say (simply because my brother is a guitarist and I can distinguish some things just by watching someone improvise) he has such elegance and style it makes me wanna cry. I know most idols participating in kbands have to know their instrument well but Kanghyun is on another level, it's not only his swag it's his technicality that makes him a superior guitarist!

People overlook them because they're a band, but they're amazing and Yonghoon's voice is just absolutely stunningly beautiful! It took me a while to get into them, but once I heard 'A Book in Memory' I was a stan. Aurora is my favorite song of theirs though so I was really happy to see you react to it. Yonghoon's voice in Aurora just about kills me with how beautiful it is every single time I listen to it! Glad you enjoyed what you've heard from them so far. For people who are interested in the recording process, they film a lot of it on their Studio We series on YT! Normally some of the members produce the song and create a demo and share it with the other members, who then work it into their instruments or suggest changes where things might not work as well. But most of the members can play several instruments (Kanghyun and Harin especially) so they can test things out themselves before getting the other members together

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for checking out ONEWE!! This has been one of the most viewed videos I have seen on a ONEWE reaction and every bit helps spread ONEWE's name into the world. 20:05 In my opinion the 'something special' about ONEWE is just a magical combination of their talent, the skills they continuously work hard to perfect, and their hearts of gold all coming together to become music. The more you learn about each member and their bond as a group, it becomes less surprising how their music just radiates love, emotion and sincerity. (Also shout-out to RBW for giving them creative license and allowing them to create music they believe in). I hope you check out more of their music and also get to know them as people!!

Oh I love that you checked out ONEWE!! I feel like a lot of reactors don't really give bands the time of day, but there are so many great ones! I also love that you had so many questions! I can't answer them all, but maybe between us all here in the comments, we can enlighten you a bit. There's generally a difference, in the Korean music industry, between a 'rock band' and an 'idol band'. I personally don't think there's a difference in their skill sets, but I guess it has to do with the target audience and how they get promoted. Because there are a ton of rock bands or alternative bands in Korea. But they don't generally tend to have overlap with idol fans. They don't go on music shows or variety programs and they don't often have the idol 'look'. (they're also often older) Idol bands are specifically rock musicians who are ALSO idols. So a lot of things that would apply to dance groups, also apply to idol bands. Like visually and aesthetically. They do promote on music shows, but sadly, with the way the regular daily music shows are set up, they don't often get to play their instruments live on those shows. But whenever they go on radio shows or other shows that are music-focused, they do play live and it's always an experience! ONEWE do a lot of great covers as well! And idol band members usually ARE trainees! Day6 were all regular trainees at JYP before they were put into a group together as a band, because they were all already good at their instruments. Usually once that's decided, they focus on band training and not dance or whatever. ONEWE also were trainees, but since they were a band already, before they joined RBW, I assume they solely focused on band stuff. However Dongmyeong (ONEUS Xion's twin) does dance and he dances well, he was even on an audition program for a dance group, along with 3 members of ONEUS. N.Flying's Hweseung was on the same program (Produce 101, the show that made Wanna One). Day6 and N.Flying, as well as several other kpop bands also do have designated rappers, so that's actually quite common! In general, idol bands have a hard time gaining popularity compared to idol groups who sing and dance and do choreo. All of them are underrated. Even the famous ones, like Day6 or even the old school ones like FTIsland, are underrated still, to varying degrees. Which is why I love it all the more that you reacted to them and loved them so much! The guitarist with the purple guitar that you love, his name is Kanghyun and he is my bias

The members of ONEWE learned to dance through survival show The Unit that they entered as a band to gain fans before their redebut (they went by MAS at the time and were already signed with RBW) many of the missions required dancing being an idol survival show, Dongmyeong is as you said the best dancer among them. As for their trainee period, aside from musical training I would assume that a good portion of it was image training, like how to be appealing for cameras and that kinda stuff that is required of idols.

ONEWE is amazing, thank you for giving them a chance! Just to answer a few of your questions: Training for k-bands is a bit different, a lot of companies start seeking out members for bands intentionally, but I do believe that some Onewe members actually had some basic idol training since I saw a video of some members dancing together (busking?) pre-debut. They do play their instruments live in concerts, but I'm pretty sure that on music shows they (most bands) don't play live. Correct me if I'm wrong, I have no idea why. Also, a lot of k-bands have HUGE popularity in Korea, especially older ones, they are favorites when going to the karaoke. There was even a talent show for bands, called Superband. It's wonderful, I can only recommend it Just for recommendation, some idol bands: FTIsland, Day6, The Rose, N.Flying, Lucy, Hoppipolla.
@nomnomduder
@nomnomduder 2 года назад
to add to your info, their idol training mostly come from being on the show "the unit" as mas, it was an idol survival show but they decided to go as a band to promote themselves more and were trained to dance through that. some music show performances are live, some aren't, and some are partially live instruments, it's hard to tell since there aren't cords all over the stage but they'll have a short cord attacked to a device on the back of their instruments kind of like a mic pack that does the same thing to broadcast the instruments wirelessly
@joi803
@joi803 2 года назад
Just to answer you about music shows: Yes, they don't play live on music shows, mainly because of time constraint. Music shows have a lot of performers lined-up, and setting-up live band music takes much time than they can afford. It's a pity actually. Onewe, and K-bands in general, stands out in live performances. That's why it's a treat to see them guesting on radio and online shows that can cater to band setups. Then again, music show promotions is necessary to introduce them to a wider audience.

Ohhhh man the pure joy I experience when a RU-vidr starts reacting to Onewe is honestly incomparable to anything else 😭💕 This group is the definition of TALENT - entirely self-produced, killer musicians, and consistent banger machines. Their ballads are my favourites (I highly recommend “Star” and “A Book in Memory” next time you react to them 🤠) but honestly every song they release is stunning, they deserve much more love than they get… Sadly k-bands aren’t as popular as dancing k-pop groups, but that also means their fandoms are usually pretty loyal since it’s a fairly tight-knit community. I’m so glad you enjoyed these songs and I hope you continue looking into them!! ❤️

Tip for idol K-bands! They stand in the same positions typically so ONEWE is usually in the same order so you can easily learn their names to positions. From left to right: -CyA - bass/synth/rap -Dongmyeong - pianist/vocal -Harin - drums -Younghoon - main vocal (can also play instruments) -Kanghyun - electric guitar and very rare backing vocals If you are impressed with Younghoon's vocals, please check out songs like "Reminiscence About All" and "Regulus". His high notes are no joke and the band was actually formed with the other four already but Kanghyun, the leader at the time, wanted a main vocal so they went to a local singing competition and scouted Younghoon after they heard him singing. Also, idol bands also have their own rigorous training process and for ONEWE they were part of a show with ONEUS predebut where they had to do challenges. They've also joined other competitions as a fixed unit and used to busk a lot. I've been with ONEWE since I saw them perform with MAMAMOO's Hwasa on stage in 2019 and got curious about who they were (mostly because Kanghyun's visuals smacked me in the face). I learned more about them and followed them since their debut. Over the few years since becoming ONEWE, they've become my favorite K-band because they never cease to blow me away.

Hello!!! Thank you for checking out Onewe!!! I really enjoyed your reaction!! I can try to answer some of your questions! About how bands are trained, as far as I know, I think it's slightly different to "the normal way" since they actually have to play instruments, however there are companies that recruit trainees and it isn't until later that they decide on forming a band, so some of them have actually trained as kpop idol trainees for some time. Onewe's case isn't like that since they formed the band themselves! Some of them were in the same music academy when they first met, they became friends, started playing together and then they recruited the others. Now, I was really surprised when you wondered about the recording!! In fact, Onewe members write most of their music. Just from the ones that you have reacted in this video, Rain to be and Aurora were written by the guitarist (Kanghyun), Veronica was written by de bassist/rapper (Cya) and Universe was written by the vocalist (Yonghoon). When recording, they play their instruments separately. Based on your question and seeing how you are curious about the process, you might want to check out their "STUDIO WE: MAKE A SOUND" videos where they show the actual process of recording (and they include subtitles). I'll leave you the link to the ones for their Planet Nine: Alter Ego album, which is the one that includes Rain to Be, Aurora and Veronica. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5f-ljNeX4Os.html (here you can find Rain to Be at 2:50 and Aurora at 13:47) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j9v0f7UtHBU.html (here you can find Veronica at 6:05) I'm sorry if this comment is a little too long 😅 Thank you so much for your reaction and I really hope you can check out more of their music and other content!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for checking out the very underrated group, Onewe. I am happy to impart some info if you want, but will say that the best guide to this group is ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mXg10y8e8So.html This group was self formed, so they really don't match the idol band like Day6 and Xdinary Heroes from JYP as most of those members went through an idol training and with Day6 at least, they changed it to a band kind of last minute and recruited a drummer. (these groups are also great) Onewe were created by themselves. They are super talented and can all play multiple instruments. As far as dancing, I would leave that up to Dongmyeong and maybe Harin. They write their own music and often have a star/universe theme. You can tell the differences in their style as CyA (kee-aha) wrote Veronica, Yonghoon wrote Universe and Kanghyun (guitarist) wrote Aurora and Rain to Be. Aurora was in my top 5 songs of 2021, Parting was in my top 5 songs of 2020 and if I knew about them sooner, Reminisce About All may have been in my list for 2019. I recommend these songs and really anything by Onewe. The first thing you will notice when you start to love them, is how few view are on the MV's. It is criminal and I hope it is because everyone is just streaming them on Spotify. You will also love their covers, LaTaTa by (G)IDLE, Hip by Mamamoo, etc. You didn't ask but Yonghoon is the bias as his voice comes from a star or some unEarthly place

sorry for an incoming essay! re:Jrock vs Krock- Korea has some big bands, but unlike Japan, it was under a military dictatorship until the late 80s, so rock was heavily suppressed as "degenerate" so the scene wasn't really able to grow until recently. And while there are many great bands coming out, the scene is still very small and weak. Not only is South Korea still a baby itself as a modernized democracy growing out of extreme conservatism, it's also almost 4x smaller than Japan population-wise, so it just innately has a much smaller music market in general. But some bands were successful enough (FT Island, CN Blue, Jannabi, Hyukoh) to show market growth that it prompted some Kpop companies to invest in debuting bands. Day6 and N.Flying are the first "idol-bands"- meaning they're bands, but went thru the idol system and are subject to its strict moral behavior expectations (trained and put together into a group by their companies, who exert a lot of control over branding, concepts, songwriting, and what members can do/say publicly; altho, both bands did gain more control over time, creatively and personally.) There's kind of a stigma against "idol bands" compared to "regular"/indie bands like Jannabi and Hyukoh because there's a stereotype that idols are manufactured and aren't "real" artists. Day6 fought hard to not be labeled an "idol band" because of that bias. (Interestingly, N.Flying embraces being called an "idol band".) ONEWE is interesting because they're kind of a mix! They started as a self-formed band managing themselves independently (as M.A.S.0094). But because Korea's rock scene is still so young, they really struggled. To prolong their dream, they signed and re-debuted as "ONEWE" under RBW Ent., as a "brother" group to idol boy group ONEUS. They continue to write 99% of their own songs, but with some creative control (RBW vetoes/approves songs, wrote 1 title track for them "End of Spring", chose their group name, controls their image). For fans, this idol-not-idol state is kind of bittersweet. People want the photocards associated with idol artists, but we also want people to not be prejudiced against ONEWE and recognize they're just simply an amazing band with amazing music!

Onewe became a band themselves with no company backing, were then signed up as MAS 0094 in 20015, and afterward redebuted with RBW in 2019, I believe, as Onewe. They are self-trained in many skills - Kanghyun (Blue Hair Guy :) and main guitarist) plays guitar, drums, keyboard and more. Harin plays keyboard a little and is the main drummer. Yonhoon (now main vocalist) plays guitar, piano, drums. Cya (pronounced Kee-ah) plays bass guitar and raps, all self-composed. Dongmyeon plays Keyboard, keytar and vocals. They all seem to write their lyrics and all produce their records, separately or together. They are seriously skilled and self-taught but due to company backing they are able now to make the MVs and such. They're amazing live too. Some of my details here may be slightly off and are probably incomplete, but they are wonderful IMO - check out some of Yonghoon's cover vocals, the voice is wonderful. - They are all wonderful :)

oooh I have a lot to write and share I want to answer every single question of yours and I'll try to I'll comment as I watch so onewe is self formed band (literally a bunch of friends who decided to form a band, tho their story is a bit more complicated than that, I hope u will react to a guide some day, the best one is "1 band, 5 members, many reasons to love them" by ollie 0094,its a lil bit outdated but still does a good job introducing onewe) and also they are self producing group they are main writers/composers/producers and whatnot for almost all of their discography for example Aurora and Rain to be are mainly created by kanghyun, the guitarist Universe_ - yonghoon, Veronica - cya rain to be is the title track of "planet nine: alter ego" album and Veronica with Aurora are bsides on it, and universe_ is the title track for "planet nine: voyager" album, it's their latest comeback every onewe song is a masterpiece for me, I've never loved all of the artist's discography before onewe they are SOOO talented, it blows my mind but kbands in general and onewe in particular are sadly really underrated, I wish more people would know about them I believe they record each member's part separately, they have these series on their channel that shows their creative process, it's very interesting to watch yonghoon (main vocalist) can play also piano and guitar but he doesn't do it often. he is one of the best vocalists in the industry I swear my ult, LOML at first tho I was ot5, I thought "how can u even have a bias in this group, they are all insanely talented" but one day yonghhon just came and said girl I'm ur ult now and I agreed cya is pronounced like kia/key-ah, it confuses a lot of people at first) genius producer, amazing bassist and rapper kanghyun is the guitarist, he's insane with his solos, guitar genius, like literally the best guitarist I've ever seen harin always killing drums, this hella attractive guy dongmyeong with his sweet vocals (and this keytar solo in Veronica😭,btw it's not in the original version sadly, they literally decided to add it one day before shooting the mv) about live instruments I believe they don't play live in comeback stages cuz shows don't allow them to do so, like it's time consuming and hard to set up instruments and shows don't want to bother(?) (but they do sing live always, like really always and they always kill it) but other than comeback stages they always play live and they are amazing (I recommend for example their "it's live" mini concert, it's under 30 min, it is 👌👌👌, but I think it would be better for u to dive into their music deeper before it) sorry for a long comment it's just that they are my ults I really really hope onewe will be regular on ur channel I could've write much more but it's already too long so sorry for mistakes, English is not my first language thank u so much for reaction! edit: I meant "I'm live" mini concert, not "it's live"😭 tho it's live performances of theirs are so good too

Dongmyeong who is Xion from Oneus twin I love his voice to and Cya's rapping and the way Kanghyun makes his guitar solos fit so well into the songs and Harin on those drums. Sorry I got so excited I just love Onewe so much they are my other number 1 ult group along with NCT and Skz and I wish they got more recognition!!!

The first time i saw Onewe was during a show called "The unit" and i remember (aside their mazing audition) them in a room full with idols from groups that had to create teams to compete. The idols were searching and talking to other idols they already knew so nobody payed attention to Onewe. Since they didn't know dancing they knew they would't be chosen. So, they decided to introduce themselves to the others as a band, that moment everybody stopped and looked at them. I loved them since that moment! They were so cute and nervious but determined to be chosen. I knew they were different from that moment.

ONEWE is completely self-formed. they're basically a bunch of buddies from childhood that eventually adopted an adult and joined RBW all together. the only k-band I can more safely assume was formed more like a typical kpop group is DAY6. I'm pretty sure I've seen a clip of one of the members talking about how he was having trouble learning a dance move when he was a trainee. when he finally got it down, he showed the staff and they were basically like "great! but you didn't need to do that. we're putting you in a band instead."

They are a solid k-band and as you read many can play multiple instruments. (Some of the guys in Oneus can too) Rain To Be - live flood of the space, cYa is scared of the water so it was tough for him but with light hearted laughs and true solid support from the others he managed to do it. Xion from Oneus came to support his bro and the group with pizza and chicken to hep hem keep energy in the cold water. The guys in bands usually have to do idol training as the same any other, Brian in Day6 has spoken about even though was great vocalist, composer, lyricist and guitarist h wasn’t able to do a back flip and they challenged that in itself meant he wasn’t maybe serious about it. He did it hard and a few time he was sure would crack head or break something but finally was able to do it. Then they told him he was going to be in a band. Lol 😂 AuRoRa - so good and the guitar lead is Kanghyun (blue hair) lol as you watch you will see more amazing solos an incredible guitar riffs as well as drum breaks. He’s heavily in the composing of their songs so cant wait to see your face as more of this content comes lol Veronica - this was so flip side cute and bright but so light and full of summer vibes. Universe - this is part of their magic, they have the gift of lyrics that make eyes water and build songs with emotion and vocals mixed with fireworks of amazing instruments. Recommend - Regulus (MV and acoustic version), A Book In Memory and Star (MV and live clip studio that’s safe but there is an amazing version but andromeda will block) Onewe cover of Love Poem by IU is lovely, but you will have to watch off YT as music bank stage. Also To Heaven their band cover. Younghoon and Cya cover of Heize track from the Hotel De Luna soundtrack - brilliant Kanghyun did a rock guitar version of Oneus Valkyrie that’s fire And a solo piece called Space and AMAZING cover of River Flows In You by Yiruma he did with HaRin. DongMyeong - My Future and a cover of Christopher’s bad with his twin Xion. Younghoon has a lot of covers but favs are - his IU ost covers, K bands - Day6 is deff a band and they have a similar mix of multitalented members who can pay multiple instruments or have strong vocals. If you have seen Zombie then i would say give them another go and try out - Congratulations(Korean and English versions), Shoot Me, you were beautiful, Where The Sea Sleeps (sub unit Even Of Day), I’ll try (live but not a stage so safe to watch), i loved you. Solos - Young K has a load of fantastic covers of which i recommend all lol but my favs are - Talk, Love Me Less, Fly Me To The Moon, Love Someone. Jae (he’s left he group now, after bouts of hiatus for mental health there did seem some tension with him and JYP but i am just about the music) Pac-Man is my fav f his and amazing. His solo album right before enlisting dropped Guard U and come as you are which i love. Wonpil just had his solo album and single Voiceless released. N-Flying - recommend - Moonshot, Oh Really, HOT Potato, Rooftop, Flower Fantasy, Starlight, Hweseung (lead vocalist) - still love you (with Lee Hong Gi - mega vocals), cover of lady gaga ill never love again, his stages on immortal songs - AAAAMAZING (but will need to be off YT) my 3 fav stages are Breaking up (could be Parting Up lol ), One Day Suddenly and The Sorrow Of Love. Lucy - Snooze, Flowering, Hero, Jogging, I Got U Hoppipolla - Let’s, Your Ocean, Enough The Rose - Beauty & The Beast (newest), Sorry, Baby, Red, she’s in the rain - also Woosung (vocals) has solos i like - dimples and lazy

Just wanted to go to bed but then I saw your upload and just had to check it out! And omg I loved your reaction and I love Onewe so much. Next to Shinee they have my fave discography! Honestly. Also Jonghyun and Taemin were my personal fave vocalists for such a long time but Yonghoon immediately joined when I discovered Onewe. What's even more impressive about Onewe is that they not only play their own instruments but they also write and produce their own music! So much talent! As for your question in how kbands are formed I can only answer this for Onewe since I'm only familiar with them! They pretty much formed because they were friends and loved music just like a band would form in highschool for example. So they all already knew how to play instruments. It was Cya, Harin, Kanghyun and Dongmyeong first and when they met Yonghoon at an audition they asked him to be their lead singer. They didn't receive any idol training but Dongmyeong and another member (i think it was Yonghoon but i can't remember) participated in Produce 101 which is some kind of idol elimination show before redebuting as Onewe. But if you are really interested this guide explains everything pretty well: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--FhuXmY-4MQ.html I really hope you check them out more! Because they are incredible! Here are some songs I would recommend: 0&4: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l9ipbs_MwzQ.html A Book In Memory: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TdaNbo8lm58.html Parting: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SN7NLdiwcnk.html End of Spring: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MLqorz9OvEs.html

Thank you so much for the reaction! Onewe definitely have something special to offer, and their skills are no joke. It's mindblowing to realize that they are self-formed, and write/compose pretty much all of their own music. I second the suggestion that you check out Ollie 0094's Onewe Guide (I'd also love to see you react to it, if that's something you do)! It's a great guide, and the primary bit that's out of date is that it says no Onewe songs written by Harin and Dongmyeong have been released; with the songs Envision_ and Trigger_ on their most recent album, that's no longer the case thankfully! I would absolutely love to see you check out more of Onewe's music! Assuming you only react to songs with MVs, the next ones I'd recommend would be Reminisce About All (their debut song as Onewe), Parting (the song that blew me away and made me a fan), 0&4 (fun vibes), and Star (one of their more recent songs, has a very pretty MV).

The audition for K-band is different from K-groups , and yes they have to be prodigical good even before they train , sometimes they do receive training - and also depends if the agency have the plan to recruit bands and promote or just waste their talent by keeping them in dungeon after failing to recruit neccesary band mates. ONEWE was self formed.

They didn't audition - the guitarist and drummer met at a music academy in middle school and decided to make a band with the bassist. Dongmyeong, the pianist, was the bassists neighbour so they asked him if be could sing with them so they did. They started working as a session band, playing the instruments on some local music competitions while they were still teenagers. They met the main vocalist, Yonghoon, at a competition that he came won and they asked him to join the band. They released some music for charity and Donju, from Oneus, was sort of their unofficial helper for their busking gigs. They were discovered by RBW who signed them.

Not sure if anyone else already answered this question, but when it comes to the formation of k-bands it's a mixed story. Onewe were completely self-formed with no auditions or company to put them together. But other bands have other stories. For example Day6, I'm pretty sure they weren't completely aware they were gonna be in a band. They trained in dancing along with other trainees and I think I've heard that Sungjin only had a few months to learn how to play the guitar before their debut (I might be wrong though). I know Young K has talked about how the news of being picked as a band member were very sudden. But I know Jae already played the guitar and Dowoon was specifically picked to join as a drummer, I don't think he was even a trainee before that. Then there's bands like Lucy, who got together through a competition show for musicians. They were all already great instrumentalists with lots of experience before joining the show. So yeah, it's pretty mixed and each band really has it's own formation story 😅

Groups redebuting isn't common but it's not unheard of. The group Good Day redebuted with some of the original lineup and additional members into Cignature, the group RaNia (rename to BP RaNia) would constantly have lineup changes and decided to rebrand into Black Swan, The group Beast would rebrand into Highlight after leaving their company, and the most popular one is Minx which later redebuted with 2 new members as Dreamcatcher with a complete switch in concept.

They met each others on music competition and four of them asked Yonghoon to join their band when they were very young. (Cya maybe only 10-12 years old then) And Yonghoon was a trainee in CUBE and all of them change to RBW as a band. They also trained for dancing skills when they were trainees, but since they are a band, they are more focus on playing instruments than dancing. They instrument DongMyeong used is called Keytar. And the Cya is pronounced as Key-a, hope it's helpful for you to understand them more. Also highly recommend their newest album is a masterpiece for every songs. Thank you for checking out new groups :) It varies how k-bands are formed: some are formed by a label some are self-formed + indie bands. in Onewe's case they knew how to play instruments, some of them started out as school-friend band and then they asked Yonghoon to join them seeing him during a singing contest at a festival if I remember correctly. Onewe can promote on music-shows during their Comebacks but often music-shows don't give bands the time to set up properly so they sing live but don't play all instruments live sadly, which is why they often try to give us their own live-content (and different versions e.g. acoustic, traditional etc) I'm glad you checked out a k-band, they don't get as much attention as idol-groups and I myself still haven't dabbled enough into other bands but just fyI in case you every want to listen to more k-bands e.g.: N.Flying The Rose Purple Rain W24 South Club among the ladies I only know 1 so far XD Rolling Quartz
