I've made the same mistake before, carving too aggressively on my Pint, fell down hard right infront of some guy walking and he just goes "you should try walking instead" lmao I just laughed off the pain, took a breather and went on my way. Definitely knocks a lot of confidence outta ya but it comes back after riding more. Just hit 2000 miles on my pint and I'm excited for my GT to come in! Btw, you can enable/disable Simple stop by pressing it's icon in the top left corner of the riding mode's portrait in the app
To turn on/off simple stop you should have an icon/button that looks like a hand 🤙 in the upper left corner of the ride mode image (highline/flow/apex/etc). Cannot be moving to turn it on/off.
Got to be more careful, been there did that, good thing your resilient, I am a EUC rider who has started to Onewheel and have bit the dust on it more than I like to talk about, say strong 💪! Thanks for the video!

Really appreciate your content. Just need to spend some more time on onewheels, especially if you’ve been riding a Vega the whole time. You seem much more comfortable on eucs.
Great first impressions Duf. What happened to you is exactly what happened to me. The nuance thou is that it happened 5 minutes into me riding it. Did the same thing. I stayed down assessing if I had broken any bones lol. 2nd, I checked to see if anyone saw me fall, and third, I just couldn’t believe what just happened. I was shocked lol. If that wasn’t enough, I am a first time One Wheeler, and I had no padding on me. My elbow and hip bruised up pretty bad. It took a week to heal. IcyHot came in clutch. The first thing that came to mind was, how in the world are people riding these things. It wobbled heal to toe to bad. Thought I had to be a gymnast 🤸 to ride this thing. Turns out my PSI was 24 😳. I brought it back down but I haven’t gotten the confidence to jump back on. I’ll probably to do this weekend after I buy some padding. Thanks for the review. Im 48 by the way, but feeling like I’m in my 20’s 😂
Thanks for sharing your first ride. The GT looked squirrelly as you put. all your information is very useful. I just have 60 miles on my XR and 14 mph is the fastest I've gone. I haven't felt the push back yet. Hope you heal fast
Glad it's just a minor scrape; It could've been worse. Also, have you tried dismounting by lifting the ball of your foot and pivoting with the heel? I find it's easier to dismount than the heel lift. Just make sure to counter balance with the back foot if you're going to do that.
That's the way i stop, and was going to recommend that until i saw your comment. 👍 - slow down to a coming stop then just push the board down to the floor with your rear foot .
I've wrecked out like that a couple of times. I've learned to wear my safety gear on my lead side and even though they're hot and uncomfortable I now wear hip guards as well. I take impacts on my right (lead) side primarily so I only wear a knee pad and elbow pad on my right side. Hand protection and hip protection on both sides.
@@Duf Most likely won't be the last. Falling is just part of onewheeling. I don't even do a lot of tricks or anything, just very aggressive carving and some bonks and drops but I know that the next wipeout is just around the corner no matter what. That said, I do try to avoid going down hard because at my age the recovery is a bitch.
OneWheels are not EUC’s in handling nor “forgiveness.” Have you seen the Facebook group dedicated to OneWheel injuries? Nasty pictures there. Lots of collarbone breaks, along with other bones. Be careful and be well.
if it makes you feel better, i took a spill on my first GT ride too! decided to go on a trail even though i've only done it a handful of times. it was the first time i've fallen in ages. was super glad i was wearing gear lol. thankfully didn't fall too fast or hard but it's still never fun.
Duf another way to dismount (that i find easier.) Is to pivot you're front foot ,via your heel, to where your pointing your toes straight forward. If done right you're foot will be on one side of the sensor.
Sorry you took a spill. Looking forward to your next videos of the wheel and how it compares to the XR or even the Pint. If I were to get this, Im going to wait a year for most issues to be ironed out (hopefully). Keep it wheel! :)
I don't understand why people are crying about how the tire is stiff.... Idk maybe I got used to how rough a carbon fiber esk8 board with cloud wheels was. I'm absolutely loving my GT as is straight out of the box. Huge upgrade for me coming from the V1! 21 miles so far and Its only 3hours into the second day riding it!

Well, you were quick to be back on your feet and mobile. I was happy to see that! I don't understand why push back is necessary on one wheels and euc's. Though I know that was not the cause of your crash, no doubt it has caused many people to crash.

It seemed like the front of the board just went up and the back scraped and it just gave out?? Like it just cut power and threw you off? I've heard of some strange stuff happening with these GT models so far. But im glad you were wearing protection as always! And it was a great vlog!
Note to everyone. DO NOT HYPERCHARGE FOR THE FIRST CHARGE. You unbalence your cells giving you less range for that charge. Not only that, the first charge will properly balence your cells to live longer. Every time you use a fast charger you do significant damage to your cells. Use the fast charger 3 times a week max to minimise long term damage.
I just got my GT, I heard you should have your tire pressure 1% of your body weight. I am 220 and my tire PSI I put to 22. I am curious how much you weigh and how much is your PSI. I am a new rider and this tire scares me because it is so bumpy. Now I took my first voyage today and rode 4 miles. I picked it up pretty fast after 4 falls, LOL. I am just trying to figure out the tire issue for me because one fall was when I hit a small pothole in the road. I also had crazy foot fatigue and my feet are killing me.
I never said it was bad, just way different compared to what I am used to. It is definitely a hard compound but I have heard many say once it gets broken in more it gets better.
Sorry about your fall man, it hurt to even hear it. You feel like the fall was mostly due to the tire pressure or was some of it just that it felt so different to what you;re used to?
Even though those elbow pads slid down a bit after impact they still did soften the blow quit a bit. Without them would have been really bad. I use Demon United Hyper Xd30 elbow and knee pads when riding my Onewheel and EUC. They fit snug and feel like a knee brace on your arms. They sell direct from their website and on amazon but they size a little small so size up if you try them out. They have all kinds of protection for motocross BMX and skateboarding. real high quality stuff.
