@@PozitivMC During the production of Ong Bak 2&3, Tony Jaa was always fighting with the director & producer. He wanted to include more Buddhist philosophy and spirituality. The producers told him: "It's supposed to be an action flick, put more fights in it. " Also, his contract was supposed to be renewed and allegedly, the producer was pressuring him to sign a very scammy contract, where he would make very little money and would shoot exclusively for his studio. Allegedly, the producer threatened Tony Jaa to sign the contract. Tony Jaa then had some sort of breakdown, on a Thai TV talk show, where he started crying live on air. He also went to the Thai police and asked for protection from his producer. He then disappeared for a couple of months while they were still filming part 3. So the producer had the movie finished by editing some random scenes together that were shot with Tony Jaa, before he disappeared. That's why Part 3 of Ong-Bak doesn't make any sense in terms of story. Tony Jaa eventually appeared again and claimed that he's now a Buddhist monk and doesn't want to make movies anymore. The producer sued him, because he had still a contract but the court ruled in Tony Jaa's favor, because he was officially recognized as a monk and thus the contract was invalid, according to Thai laws. The whole monk thing was eventually a legal trick, to get him out of his contract and after a couple of years, Tony Jaa left the monastery and returned to the movies. At this point, the Thai movie industry practically blacklisted him and he only gets work in Hollywood or other Asian movies, mostly as a secondary actor nowadays, like in that Master Z movie with Max Zhang or in Expendables 4.

@@thcbdude Tony Ja said when he made this movie, he mixed the Thai traditional dance with Muay Thai and named it Natayudtha. However, can't deny that some move is obviously kung fu.

The hell you talking about? Ong Bak 1 was the weakest. Tony Jaa broke his back carrying every fight scene in the first movie

Ong Bak 2 has "crappy fighting scenes"? Jesus wept.

Ong Bak 2 still had solid fight scenes and really allowed Jaa to diversify the choreography and martial performance he was giving. Ong Bak 3 was, well, very odd, the fight scenes are just not up to the standards set beforehand.

Movie lol but naw it’s a multitude of styles but the base styles are Muay Thai and Wing Chun. I’m no expert but I’m pretty certain those two styles are the inspiration for this fight scene

in the story of Ong Bak II he learned all kind of style
