In this course, we will read 2 Samuel 11 (27 verses) in the original Hebrew language. The story of David and Bathsheba is an excellent text to both review familiar vocabulary and grammar, and to learn to identify regular grammatical constructions in prose narrative.
Section 1 introduces the reference material we will be using throughout the course. I have provided all necessary documents for download. Before we get to our first exercise (listening and pronouncing the Hebrew text) I will say a few words about the Masoretic text and about pronouncing biblical Hebrew. Our focus will be on the Wayyiqtol conjugation.
Section 2 provides an analysis and explanation of 2 Sam 11:1-27 verse by verse.
Section 3 provides further information, contact details, Biblical Hebrew course recommendations, etc.
