Bio and description:
Dr. Harry Anastasiou is a Professor at Portland State University’s Conflict Resolution Graduate Program, and is engaged in peacebuilding projects in and around the Eastern Mediterranean. Dr. Anastasiou works in collaboration with the Future Worlds Center, and is a founding member of the Cyprus Conflict Resolution Trainers Group and of the Technology for Peace project. In this interview, Dr. Anastasiou speaks on his experience with the “Tech4Peace” project, and the role of technology in bridging social, political, and physical divides in conflict-affected communities. Dr. Anastasiou also offers insightful perspectives on the expression of free movement within cyberspace, and the contextualization of technology in conflict settings.
