ContactingTheDead I was not there when they shut down the live servers for the Xbox but damn, hearing the story about it makes me all upset too, It's fucking sad to see such a good community have to get disconnected... Worse that now the Halo community is frowned apon on and divided into whatever game that was the best and after set game it went downhill blah blah... (But I will say after Reach the Halo franchise have been dropping quality. It doesn't hame much impact now...)

This was like 2013 and we would get grouped up with the same groups in halo 3 in Btb. It’s crazy cuz in mcc I’ve met the same people on btb and friend them. We were a small community back in 360 and they still seem still active. I just need to reinstall mcc...

The 6th gen (ps2,xbox,gamecube,dreamcast) as a whole is now retro. It was also the last gen of gaming i loved so much. Ever since gaming imo went downhill.

I wouldn't feel too bad man, Atari 2600 was THE thing back in the 80's and I have so much respect for its history. Granted, I wasn't even born when Atari was still a thing, hell I wasn't even born when the NES and Genesis first arrived (born in 90). My first ever console was an N64 which I still have, even though Atari is older the N64 is still considered to be pretty darn old so back then it was funny when my little brothers friends asked me why I still have such an old console around. The best answer I could give them was to pop in Mario 64, Starfox 64 or Diddy Kong Racing and have them try it out themselves. Watching them have fun on my old N64 was all that was needed to help them understand. :)

I didn't have access to a debit or credit card until 2006, so with the original Xbox I could never get XBL, until 2006 when I bought the 360 and started using Xbox live and playing online fairly often, I then also finally played my copy of Halo 2 on 360 and online, it was awesome.

onedeadsaint just get halo master chief edition. Halo 2 is playable online with all maps and people are always playing. This guy wants you to get an Xbox set up your computer to do this crap just to play online when you can buy master chief edition used for 15 or 20 bucks

i agree i had the master chief and it didnt feel the same at all the controls where messed up and i was aweful at it but if i turn on the halo 2 on original xbox i play great it is probly my most played fps of all time.

if you do your pad binding well, you actually have a chance of not losing in last place. i once beat my brother on a pc from a xbox. granted he was way out of his game back then and i was at my console fps peak performance levels, but i actually beat him with the gamepad.

Xbox Counter Strike one Xbox Live's release day was the most fun video game experience I've ever had. The AI in that game are also really well made and are fun to play against. Glad to see people still play it.

+J2C Actually Microsoft can easily release some sort of free update to get Xbox Live working on OG Xbox consoles again VIA a simple download or update from Microsoft's own website which could easily be uploaded to a flash drive or simply literally through the internet it-self.

Didint em shutdown the halo2 online in 2008 I remember making halo2 videos playing with my friends going out of maps superjumps going under the map I even know how two make clones on one map I knew all of the glichis I even used a ghost two get on top of a map

blondbassist The newer versions of Halo 2 have some hitbox related bugs that the original didn't have.

That's because Microsoft was extremely lazy, so instead of going off the original code for Halo 2, they used Halo 2 vista.....which was very close to unplayable, had terrible hitbox issues, and connection issues.

The LE port shown in the video actually has KB/M support. repi's port, which I used to play a lot, doesn't, but has more responsive/accurate xbox controls, and hardware accelerated rendering + support for native rendering at HD resolutions (720p + 1080i). I'll never forget the time I won a railwar match with a controller through riding a train of good luck. Quake 3 arena + Lantus's and I think also the new hardware accelerated Quake 1 port also have KB/M support but the latter does not have online play, and the first is the original, rather than Quake World, so there is input lag when playing.

Plus with Xlink we can play some of the greatest OG XBOX games ever online again! Also little fun fact in some games, game chat still works so if you have a OG Xbox mic y’all can once again hear that old Xbox chat quality
