This five ingredient, apple pie caramel dump cake was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect way to bring in the fall season.
Here is the super easy recipe:
Apple Pie Caramel Dump Cake
Ingredients:
2 large cans of apple pie filling
1 stick of butter cut into thin slices
1 can of the Dulce De Leche caramel or one bag of caramel bites
1 box of vanilla cake mix
1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
Directions:
1. Start by pouring your apple pie filling in the bottom of a casserole dish.
2. Sprinkle with the pumpkin pie spice.
3. Then melt the dolce de Leche caramel in a microwave, safe bowl with one to 2 tablespoons of heavy, whipping cream.
4. Stir the caramel then pour over the apples, making sure to smooth it to the edges.
5. Next, dump your box of vanilla cake mix (don’t add anything to the mix)
6. Top with the sections of butter on top of the cake mix.
7. Bake at 375° for about 25 minutes, checking it often to make sure the cake mix has been cooked through and it’s not still powdery.
Note: if you find that you still have some spots where the cake mix hasn’t cooked through just take a fork and kind of mix it in with the apple caramel mix and put it in the oven for a couple more minutes.
Make sure to served warm with vanilla ice cream.
This recipe was a hit with my family, and even though it was so big the next day there was one helping left and Izzy ate that for breakfast 😂😂
