Fun fact: white button mushrooms and portobello mushrooms are actually the same kind of mushroom at different stages of growth. I learnt that from Dr. Greger’s videos. The big bargain in Waitrose and other UK supermarkets is the cost of various types of cream. Single cream on your Corn Flakes, luxury. In common with Japanese supermarkets, the alcoholic beverage section is large and very sparely occupied. Only makes sense if the mark up is large. A relatively cheap yen and a strong pound means UK imports are expensive, but you can still get a 70cl bottle of benchmark Johnnie Walker Black for around 3,000 yen (Stg.15.00). Used to be 2,000 yen. Japan's a hard country to take sober; fortunately I don't have that problem. A 720cl bottle (glass not plastic) of South American wine will set you back Stg.1.50. when you look at the yellow sticker items they are still in most cases still more than buying in date items in other shops. Just because it is in a Luxury supermarket and hikes up the prices for items you can get in cheaper supermarkets. bet they all just come from the same farm or factory. so really the food standard is NO better. just that some people want to say they buy at a high class supermarket. potatoes 2kg £2 when you can get 2kg of potatoes for £1.29 at normal price or £1.15 for carrots that you can buy some for 45p. You can just go to a cheaper store and get all the yellow items cheaper as in date items spending £6.75 for meat when you can get 400g of steaks that are £3.50 in Asda so it is a waste of time, its not really a saving.

Go again an hour before closing and just keep browsing round and ask staff if there’s a area to check 15minutes before closing for items being taken out back to be binned as you may be able to save stuff last minute before it gets bagged for binning

I’ve been watching through videos from years ago recently (I’m on maternity leave so have a bit of time whilst babies sleeping for a good binge watch - 20 month old loves you guys and my 7 week old is so chilled when your on) I have just rewatched a video from 4 years ago of your branded vs unbranded challenge in Tesco and I’m wondering if you can redo the video (nothing wrong with the old one) I’m just curious to see the price difference now compared to 4 nearly 5 years ago (video from 4th July 2019) to see how covid/ cost of living has effected everything like food prices and the comparison of the two in general as well as the comparison to the video all then years back may be shocking! Sorry for the ramble the idea just hit me and I had to say 😂 x

When we visit family In Lincoln we go to Waitrose. But items tend to be quite good reductions but some only have 50p off. So they are not the best at reducing food.

I didn't know you could get vegan "steak". It looked really good. Even though you spent more than usual, it would have cost much more than that here in Oz (that's if you were able to get the items here!). By the way, I love your cat.
I think supermarkets but reduces items on during late morning, leave afternoon and late evening i.e more reduces meal deals at the time you went It looks like you got a bit more from m&s yellow stickers and the money off was better as well. Been looking for that bacon in the pink and red packs for a long while but not sure now as seem expensive they are really nice but I got them from heron three packs for a pound far better price
I’m coming live but not live from Uk great video got lots of delicious food and saved so much food from not being wasted I’ve shopped at Waitrose few time and manage to find some good reduce stuff it can be hit or miss depending on what time and what shop go to thanks you for another great video just keep rising 😊
This might be a bit of a stupid question, but I’m assuming vegan food is a safer to eat past its “use by” date as there is no meat or dairy in it? Am I right? I know “best before” is safe but “use by”? Love the videos, such a nice safe family actually using family vlogging for good, a rarity these days! Keep up the good work!

Waitrose tend to reduce their items in stages throughout the day. Looks like you were a bit early for the bigger discount. I would say you need to go about 7pm for better discounts
I hope you can do this reduced food items type of video to different supermarkets like Sainsbury's, Morrisons... Please press like if you like the idea

Fact: In Waitrose, they often do the yellow stickers for even stuff expire few days later. The good thing is you can buy stuff you need for cheaper price and still not expired, but it could be pretty pricey, so the yellow sticker stuff on the dedicated area is the cheapest( which that shelf has say 'Too Good To Waste'

My local Waitrose usually has very little in the way of reduced items and they take hardly anything off the original price. I probably only go in for a look 6 times a year!😅
waitrose does nicest food so expensive great video have lovely weekend just been coop reduced bread 17 pence they used throw it out in bin told them off told them drop off at foodbanks so go foodbank now where i live every year residents donate bags of food to food banks office where it goes got so many bags to go to foodbank makes heart warm i donate to and dog charitys

It's so true, when we travel to certain parts of the country there no Waitrose stores to be found only service station Waitrose but there seem to be quite a few in London 🙂
I’m vegetarian and hate all the fake meat especially when it looks like meat . Could never buy the fake steak I prefer things to look and taste like veg . I wish supermarkets would do more veg based meals that aren’t trying to be like meat .

I do not think their “Reduced Items” are reduced enough! Such items in other stores now go in the “Too good to go” boxes. For pennies! Reducing in pennies! Nooooo! Those packs of rice gives you an indication of too low on reductions.

💡 vegan's eat meat all day. A day of vegan meats meals. To show just your vegan doesn't mean you miss out. When i start vegetarian diet i miss meat until I found meat-less.
