You can probably force stereo audio in your video editing app. Not sure what you use, but, I bet if you looked it up here on YT, you could figure it out pretty quick! 👍
@myfavoriteviewer306
@myfavoriteviewer306 Год назад
It happens, the video turned out fantastic even with the hiccup. Alls I ask is that you don't go to the stereo audio for talking head or tabletop videos. Not sure why it's so prevalent in knife videos but it makes it really difficult for me to watch. No need to have voice bounce back and forth with a static video as you look around the camera. Gives me wicked vertigo since I use headphones or earbuds for the vast majority of my RU-vid viewing. I'm just a random jackhole on the RU-vid though, please keep doing what makes you proud of the final product!

@@myfavoriteviewer306 i appreciate the feedback and that is something else im trying to work on while doing table top its very hard not to sound like im moving around on a mic that is stable while im not but i will figure it out i only ever plan to make things better and better in everyway so im always working on improvments i can do thank you again

@myfavoriteviewer306 Год назад
@Neeves Knives It's all good, brother! I don't know what mic you picked up, but a handy tip for table top is to use a lavalier mic, the clip-on kind usually attached to a shirt, except clip it to the bill of a baseball cap. No matter where you move or what your hands are doing the mic stays in the perfect place and never gets knocked around. The tricky part is finding a quality mic that isn't stupid expensive 😂

I try to justify my purchase by saying the steel is better, the lock is better, the design fits my preference better, the quality is better. Then I just leave it in my pocket and rarely use it cuz it's nice and I don't want to mess it up. But when I do use it.....oh boy is it nice. At this point I've just accepted that I like buying new knives and I've limited myself to all the really good ones under $100. There are actually a lot of them.

My first knife that I bought after I realized I was a knife nut is the Kizer Original, 5 days ago. I absolutely love this knife. You can spidey-flick it, thumbstud open it, or use the button to break the detent and swing it open. 154CM steel, matte black powder coated aluminum handle. I love it.

I didn't grow up with any knives that weren't low end kitchen knives. I grew up in a very suburban family. As I became an adult, I got more into outdoors stuff and working with my hands, knives became important to me. I started with Cold Steel: the GI Tanto and Voyager. So very glad I did, because they're excellent quality knives that are still just as good as when I first bought then. Now I've got Spyderco, ZT, CRK and customs, but I still carry those old Cold Steels, too, because everything you said about locks and knife acoustics is 100% spot on.

Speaking of acoustics, the Benchmade AFO II is the most authoritative sounding auto I’ve ever heard on opening. My dad has one and I can hear it across the house when he opens it Also the safest knife you can use is the sharpest knife you have that feels good in the hand. Not too big, not too small. I prefer between 3 and 3.5 inch blades with large handles. My first high quality knife was a PM2 and it was perfect. Unfortunately I lost it while working nights at Lowe’s and I didn’t even go back to try and find it because I knew somebody found it within the half hour they were open. Ended up getting a Benchmade Mini Crooked River to replace it and while I love it, I still miss my Spidey :(

3rd comment, gotta say it though. I'm a traditional knife guy, (not exclusively) I have a $1200 knife, a $2700 knife and a whole display full of $500 knives but nothing, I mean nothing beats a really good budget knife. One of my all time favorites is a Rough Ryder, its so good I bought 3.

The first knife I recall where I went:"oooh, that sounds nice!", was my first introduction to Buck. It was long ago and obviously I have heard about the brand, but have never experienced one. I found a 112 at a local hardware shop second hand. It seemed like it was in terrible condition, however I could see it was just verry dirty and gunked up. Back then I was a student and couldn't afford almost any 'brand name' knife. It was like a quarter of the price of a new one, so I immediately bought it. I cleaned it up and it was actually almost as good as new, still shaving arm hairs. But when I opened it after cleaning! That thwack sound of the lock! It was the sound of pure quality! Long after that I got into Cold Steel and still love how a good strong lock back sounds!

i agree with most points but i don't like integrals for one reason: to get good lockbar tension you need to overbend the bar to a point where the titanium memorizes it. you can't do that as extensively with integrals, well the factories can't which means that most integrals have kinda a sluggish and weak detent. i had integrals from spyderco, reate and we knife and they all suffered from the same issue. great video though!
