The second dude also did the two foot take off, even regardless of making/not making his was superior. Not to knock the first kid though as I sure as hell couldn't do what he did, lol.
@@NbaLowlights it makes the dunk look totally different. Some dunks are steeze off 1 foot, some way better off 2 and some depend whether left or right foot was forward on the 2 foot take off. The great in game dunkers like MJ, Vince, Tmac, Griffin, etc did all of the above depending on what fit in the moment. I could only ever dunk off a left foot 1 foot take off, but I understand that was totally a weakness obviously. That said, with the right cradle gather and rock the baby smash in it could be a perfect dunk (see Dr J on Lakers).
Would be fun if there's an NBA streetball kind of league. Fancy dunks are worth more 3 or 4 points. Fancy crossovers and passes/fake passes are worth 1-3 pts (3 pt if it's an anklebreaker or you bamboozled the defender when passing). Buzzer beaters add 1 points.
@@redward18what y'all don't understand is lavine could've done every dunk gordon did but not vice versa. gordon isn't east baying from the free throw line or even windmilling from there. easy win for lavine
I’m just glad we got an iconic dunk contest because after Blake Griffin shit was hush hush for a while. We don’t care fr who won. They both won to the people.
👈🏽🤨IDIOCRACY CONFIRMED. Aaron Gordon completed this dunk in NBA dunk contest and IN FACT, LOST … although he SHOULD’VE WON. Or at least TIED. Zach Lavine was unreal also
I'm jealous!! I'm a 6'2 white guy, I was 6'1 and 17 the first time I dunked a basketball. It took everything I had to dunk! This kid goes under both legs n makes it look easy lol. Now 50yrs old and I'm doing good to jump at all 😂😂😂
Nobody really knows how hard it is to do this. It takes fast twitch muscle with incredible athletic co-ordination, instinct and awareness. I’m 6’4”. At my best it took everything I had to dunk, especially on someone, and I was at peak athletic performance and conditioning. This is next level skill in game. We are just becoming aware of the talent that’s moving around this world.
Agreed. We had 1 down here in 2003 at Coastal Christian Academy, which produced GREAT talent. We had a legendary dunk contest that year and the guy did some dunks that just blew our minds. Coastal is no longer a school, but they produced many Division 1 players and as well as JR Pennock who played on the Lakers for a little bit.

Just lumped over.. zero expression.. and having a stare off with the camera... Lamo what 🤣 People's expressions here are fantastic
@@mr.j410 for one I CLEARLY said “some of the best” that does not mean it was no other great mixtapes and even then at no point was LBJ some flashy dunker. He don’t even have a real dunk mixtape like them, he has NEVER attempted a lot of the dunks these guys have. Some fans like you let all the glazing y’all do cover up your reality 🤦🏽♂️😂😂
Jordan never did a 360 or went between the legs, he was a great dunker w crazy hangtime but he'd "just" kick his legs around but that was fine for his era. His 80s era slam dunks wouldn't get him anywhere in in 2000-and up era Slam dunk contests
@@Defender78Lmao, these kids are not getting anywhere near the height or extending their bodies like Jordan could. He would legit stretch all the way out like a cat, get up so high and slam it hard! Dominique was also good at it, but wasn’t as smooth as Jordan. Not to mention the distance Jordan would take off from. Jordan was an alien, you guys need to watch more clips and actually look closely at what he was doing because it should of been impossible for someone to move like that. The guy was 6’6, but moved and had the dexterity better than most if not all guard. Michael was it man!
Bro....lmao...there is a reason you don't see this in D1 basketball or the NBA....."the bad coaches" haha ..two points is two points, If a coach doesn't want you trying this shit in a game it's fine... @@SaveByGrace
Never to the good ones. Some athletes even WOW their coaches. Never cap them. Most coaches will never see that again. (But even deep down, I'm like don't miss or its suicides right after the game.)
The blonde chick with the burgundy color pants was sitting there the whole game and literally missed the best part🤦🤦🤦Guess she was having a blonde moment🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯
@@nvm_mo5715 Irrelevant. Tell me, what comes up to people's mind when they see this dunk? A guy in the NBA with probably the best dunk ever and a champion or some random kids who just want to show the world they can jump high? 🤣
@@michaelantonio6643 I can’t speak for PEOPLE but I’m definitely aware that I’ve seen this dunk first attempted in game from a viral video by Jimma Gatwech
He didn't say he missed the basket. He said he missed the dunk. And he is right about that. Lol, great OP comment, but still an amazing athletic attempt by JD....I'd like to see my Celtics give him some run this year
They’re not different, just have more resources and opportunities today, AND there is always a smartphone nearby to capture everything they do now. Imagine what you could watch if people had smart phones 50-100 years ago.
players have always jumped this high. its the flexibility difference and creativity. also the access to what everyone is doing around the world and trying to one up. you ever go to a new neighborhood or city and learn something? same concept. im here for it. the windmill was all we knew bro. like gilberet arenas said windmill from all angles still a windmill lol
What do you mean? It's not like they invented the dunk,Gordon did that dunk years before this. I could see if they were jumping twice as high. You sound dumb.
Back in our times all we had was And 1 Mixtape VHS tapes. Now these kids got the internet at their finger tips, and ppl teaching how to pull off these dunks. Of course the talented ones going to pull off magic.
While the 2nd dunk is cleaner, the first dunk had a significantly higher degree of difficulty. He has to do it off one leg as a defender was chasing him. 2nd dunk the defense just gave up and let him take his time. So these two attempts are actually quite different. Incredible slo-mo and music here, fantastic clip!
