Freddie Tech unboxed and fired up the device. For a Google TV full featured device, Freddie Tech liked. What are your thoughts on this budget friendly streamer?
I got this streaming unit as a choice between it and a roku. What I like about it is the fact that you don't have to register on a computer to get it up and running. Its sleek, compact and very easy to set up. I love it!

Thank you for this video. I did get one of these and it works great, with one exception. I cannot figure out how to get it to turn on both my HDMI Tv as well as my AV receiver at the same time. It will do one or the other but not both at the same time. Any idea if this is a capability, like it was with my Firestick 4K?
You're welcome! There are radio button options in the setup remote button on the right side say for volume control and only one device can be selected from what the user adds to the list. Maybe in a future update there will be multiple device options.
That's too bad! It was probably hardware related such as a bad WiFi antenna. We have a couple of them we'll put thru the paces, so we'll see how they hold up.
This device is about $200 if you buy it outside of paying monthly to use it it from DirecTV with the Internet only package. It's considerably more than a Firestck. Directv won't even sell it to you directly unless you sign up for the DirecTV over Internet plan. We used it on the DirecTV stream service after buying it online. The Fire stick is a great device and you can use it with DirecTV stream, so you certainly do not need this device for that.
The 4K has UHD with a native resolution of 4096 X 2160. HD version is 1080P 1920 X 1080. Definitely a difference there and also depends on the TV that it's being viewed on. The settings always come into play as well with every TV. The device also feels a little snappier because it has a smidge more RAM.
Vhs tapes last longer then your money does and computer does and internet does and phone does everything proven people like myself are fixing broken vhs tapes with Scotch tape it starts playing again with out no problem's
That is a good question. While there is some 4K content available, it still remains limited. The 4K version of this device is only a few dollars more than the HD. At least with this box you can still enjoy the events in 4K and also when there will be more 4K. DirecTV stream right now has (3) 4K channels included. One has 24/7 content and the other two are mostly when there are live sporting events.
People like myself are buying VCR players offline for 50 dollars and buying vhs movies for 10 dollars everything proven when they come in my house they become free whiching until I get rid of them no more internet whiching tv in my house people can't stop people from having vhs tapes like they think they can
Oh that's not fun. Have you tried the quick connect option under settings? Also restarting router/gateway? If you have done this they do have a support line on the bottom of the box. 1-888-516-2630
You don't have to explain to Freddie Tech. He's been around the block a few times.😉 In fact he was very excited about getting his first VCR way back in the day. While that technology was excellent for many years and served it's purpose well, he is grateful for modern technology. Glad you are enjoying revitalizing the VCR/VHS era. It is fun doing that stuff sometimes.
