Protip: if you are using an external drive... Format the drive for exFAT to be able to use files over 4gb. or standard FAT32 if you aren't expecting to use files over 4gb. I wouldn't suggest NTSF. But exFAT works great. Of course, you can still format it for android by just inserting it directly into the box or usb hub. (I'm using a 4 port usb hub)
I installed an old version of analiti because it would not install from the google play store. Once it was installed the google play store updated analiti to the latest version. I am curious if Sling does the same for you. Would be nice if so. :p
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt Problem with the 4K Pro, Speaker only works when u disconnect the HDMI Cord, also some people Including me have the Basic Black remote with No Backlight!!
Thank you for the good demo. I hope you can provide your opinion on the following question/concern. I could not find an answer online, product support, Walmart support. The Storage shows Internal Storage 23GB. The specs state 32GB! Why the discrepancy? I have not installed anything yet and it says 23GB. Where are the missing 9GB?
@1maniemar can definitely add storage easily via USB port. Haven't tried Tivimate but any Google TV compatible app will work on the onn. box. If it's not in play store you can easily sideload.
I have not had any heat issues. Wonder if you're running an rogue app that is causing the box to heat up? Are you doing intensive decoding? There has to be something beyond the normal use that's causing this to heat up.
Why didn't you open the USB drive if it supports the NTFS format? What I see is "SEAGATE USB DRIVE IS SAFELY EJECTED," meaning it doesn't support the NTFS format.
Yeah, I hear ya, I was trying to keep the video to a reasonable length but should have gone deeper into the hard drive stuff. Perhaps another video specifically about that?
I set this box up yesterday and am pretty happy with it except for one issue: when I turned off my television, the box turned off with it, regardless of whether I had the power settings set not to turn the power off. This is a problem if I have Tivimate set to record something later in the day, as it would mean always leaving my television on. I finally realized it was my Samsung tv's CEC setting, so I turned it off. However, now my soundbar doesn't turn on with the tv, and my Samsung remote, which was working with the Onn box, no longer works with it anymore. Has anyone encountered this issue and maybe discovered a workaround? I'm replacing an old Nvidia Shield that appears to be on its last legs with the Onn box, and it's been so much easier to use except for this CEC problem. I can't find any CEC settings to change on the Onn, do they exist?
Well, there is no tuner on this box so you can't attach an antenna. You'll have to either use the antenna connected to your TV or pay for a streaming service that offers local channels (RU-vid TV, Hulu, etc)
The time is 9:03 pm i’m trying to add an USB drive to my onn TV box but it’s telling me it’s not connected every time I put the Sandis in can you please help?
i really like it so far but i cant seem to figure out when i cast a show to the onn 4k pro box where to locate the cast on the tv itself, it shows up on my computer as casting to it but i cant find it on the tv
The last question is this. Why did it ask which apps I wanted to use if it was going to pre-install some apps anyways? I didn't request the Disney Plus to be added but it was already there when the system opened up and installed. kind of pointless then.
I have a big question. After you set the device up on one TV can you then move it to another TV and use it? In my case I set it up on a TV in a bedroom TV to test it out but maybe in the future I move it to the living room TV. Do I have to reset it up or will it just work when I connect it to the other TV?
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt my fiber internet gets 128 download. So I think it could be my hdmi input or the box itself. My tv lost hdmi 2 port and I have service man coming to replace it as my tv is still under warranty. I have 3 other hdmi inputs that work. I don't have any issues with my firetv cube on hdmi port 4
I HAVE AN ISSUE WHERE STUFF GOES OFF SCREEN. EXAMPLE. WHEN I CLICK THE GEAR ON THE RIBBON UP TOP. I CAN SEE THE WIFI AND BLUE TOOTH SYMBOL. BUT NOT THE WORDS NOR DO I SEE THE SETTING OR ACCOUNT OPTION THEY ARE OFF SCREEN. ON THE RIGHT SIDE FOR INSTANCE UNDER FOR YOU. ON THE RU-vid THE YU ARE OFFSCREEN. ON THE DOCTOR WHO ONE DOC IS OFF SCREEN. YOU GET THE IDEA
🤔 haven't had any issues. Do you have the same remote as me? I've heard there are 2 different remotes shipping. Have you tried disconnecting and repairing?
@rsturdy4045 in the remote settings you can disconnect the remote and then re-pair it. It should also repair when you power cycle it. Might be worth a hard reset too
I have a second question. When I press the off button the only thing it does is turn off the device but not the TV so I have to use the remote for the TV to turn it off. How does this work? It's just turning off the device not the TV but I have a TCL Roku TV.
This is tv dependant. Most modern TV's will operate the way you want it to but you need to make sure CEC (sometimes it's called something else by different manufacturers) is turned on, on both the TV and the Google box.
I had the same question and found the solution. When you first set it up, it asks you if you want to continue with current remote set up or change settings. "Change Settings" takes you through a wizard that lets you test the On/Off buttons using different signals until it works. The same for Up/Dn volume keys. After set up, you can change the button to shut down the TV by going to: Settings > Remote & Accessories > Set up remote buttons. Let me know 😊
i don't know WHY Google Chromecast device , Google don't upgrade it ...I love Mine since i bought it almost 4 years ago when they released it & toss my Rokuos in Garbage ..i dont know why no Upgrade, BUT i heard they gonna come with soft wear upgrade soon!
Third question unfortunately. I have a Google Nest But I just installed this ONN 4K Pro device. Will there be a conflict when I ask a question to the Google Nest? Will both respond?
This became a problem for me with my android phone because my phone is usually at arms reach from me 90% of the time it wakes up the commands from my phone so I ended up disabling the hands free option on the device and just use my phone if I need to. Otherwise I just use the mic on the remote.... I'm surprised google doesn't have options to assign different wake up words for each device like amazon has...you would think all it would take is a simple firmware update.
i would not trust google to listen to my conversations and my family's 24/7. You don't know what they can do with it now with AI and deepfakes, anyone could imitate your voice with what is stored on google servers; especially if they get hacked. And they will one day, nothing is 100% secure.
The developer mode is the same for all android TV boxes. Go to settings / about / click on the BUILD option several times until the message "You are now a developer" appears on the screen.
I wuld like to know how to sideload multiple streaming boxes or firesticks at same time no one has a answer ,i asked so many people help please i know how to sideload ,how to sideload multiple at a time answers any one .
sideloading requires changing permissions and installing apks etc, maybe with a script or macro program. You'd have to find a way to hook up several android devices maybe to pc to do so and have an automation program. Thing is I'm not sure how much demand their is for sideloading many android devices at once given its relatively easy to do one at a time and don't hear of anyone really needing to do many all at once given its pretty straightforward unlike jailbreaking. I mean in theory there might be a way but practically not sure this is feasible. Who knows maybe I'm mistaken. It really doesn't take that long to literally sideload on a android device to justify hooking up to a pc to automate running on several at once. I mean how many devices are you having to sideload at once? you running a business doing so? even then it couldn't be more than a few a day and taking maybe 10-15 minutes top to do so. Unless your running a development environment or business managing multiples devices ie: mdm where you need to deploy many copies on many devices i'm not really seeing this as practical but yeah i don't doubt theres a a script somewhere that does so.
USB doesn't work, people trying to make it work with hard drives for over a year since the previous model, the worst, I took it back to Walmart & kept my roku ultra
Looks awesome to me with the HDR and Dolby vision. But TBH, I'm not a video geek so I wouldn't know the little things to look for. IMO it's as good as any 4k I've seen come out of an Android TV box. (I'm using a Shield as my full time)
