Our Osni Blanket is designed to attach securely to our hammock/poncho and is made so multiple blankets can be layered as well. You can use two three season blankets joined together to make a winter blanket. Greater value since you don't have a designated winter blanket that may have limited use. The system keeps the blanket in place, yet allows easy entry and exit.

Thank you kindly, it's good to be back editing some video again. Hopefully I can get to a regular schedule, starting with some short videos that answer questions people commonly have.

I see that Perry is using a pad in his poncho/hammock. I do the same in my WI poncho/hammock. It feels better to me and how my body lays in the hammock. I sleep very well in it. Sometimes i use a full length pad and sometimes only a 3/4. The shorter one works well. Covers my back and butt.

Sometimes I just put the pad in when camping out of my truck, I already have it anyway. Pads add another dimension of comfort - I mean I like with or without - it's nice to change it up. Thanks for the comment Tom

I have 3 of your old survival blankets. The one complaint I had was the fact it didn't have snaps for this very reason. I'm happy to see this upgrade :)

@wildernessinnovation Год назад
Yes, I used to use our Easy Clips for joining things together, snaps are nicer. We also resized them so they fit nicely with our other gear.Thanks for commenting

Been following you for a while and enjoying the designs of your gear. I am wondering how well the Osni does in long storage compressed or rolled up, and maybe a temp range? I've been considering a poncho and Osni liner for an emergency bag/kit.

I have had both for about 5 years and they still work and no problems whatsoever.

The Poncho with Osni Liner are great for emergency as it gives you a full length coat, as well as all the ways you can configure it. The gear can be stored long term and still unpack and fluff right up. We get the Climashield insulation from the factory on highly compressed rolls, when we bust them open they expand to 3.5 feet in diameter pretty fast. As for temperature range, I have to break it down by what purpose the Osni is being used for. For hiking, snowshoeing, you likely don't need it at all. When things calm down around camp and there is little exertion an Osni really comes into play. At night sleeping much more insulation is required. For sleeping purposes and I'm using an Osni as a blanket, if I'm comfortable underneath an Osni Lite (2.5 oz) is good for me in the mid to low 30's, a standard (3.6 oz) in the teens, and a 5 oz does well to 0 or below. This is of course open air, no tent or tarp, add those items and drop another 15 degrees generally. The Osni as an under quilt is about the same range, maybe not quite as low.. The other thing to consider too, is two 3.6 oz and you've effectively got a 7.5 oz insulation, etc. Hope that helps - Perry

@@wildernessinnovation Perry, Thanks for the additional info. Like you I'm in the Southwest where weather can range from 100+ down to freezing depending on season, and elevation. Given I could have an 90 degree day at 8k elevation and easily drop to 40 at night sounds like it does fit what I may be looking for. I always hear people talk about military ponchos and the liner but they only seem to be suited for cool weather. With the multiple uses of the pair it would probably be better than just a sleeping bag when dealing with weight constraints for most weather conditions I'm likely to encounter.

did you just gender those buttons?! just kidding, looks like a good system. i have a hennesy hammock, i wonder if any of your stuff is compatible.

@wildernessinnovation Год назад
haha, hey there's only two ways to go with the snaps, lol. I'm not sure. I design everything just to what I want, I've never had a Hennesy though many of our customers have had.
