to add up, Samsung 35Es are 8 Amps max of continuous discharge so at a configuration of 10s3p, they will probably allow around 20 Amps which in my opinion is a very low Amperage for an Esk8. As for the overheating problem, probably the motors are too small for the load. They push more current when they are struggling to keep up so that might explain the issue.

Correct, this is a good example of a 12s3p to 10s4p power comparison although other factors like motor KV, gearing and the actual firmware are big influences on the final performance. The 35E can handle enough amps to run the GTR well while providing maximum range and longevity. On a side note, the fluctuations in the GTR's battery % are a communication error between ESC and remote and not an indication of the actual battery performance. We suggest the owner reaches out to his local Evolve service centre as we will be able to provide a fix for the % issue.

I am on my 3 board. Carbon 1 board. Carbon gtr. And the Gtx. I live in Michigan and this sport is gaining ground fast. I would love to promote your board in Michigan. Let me justify that really quickly, Evolve still has issues that would concern everyone if they knew about them, critical failures, in the remote and spontaneous braking engagement, full braking BTW, check the Reddit posts. More than one evolve rider has been spat out of the board because of this behavior... they will probably fix the board yes after you crash at full speed because the board disconnected or engaged the breaks.

Diogo eSkate yes, and we are all aware about this problem just because there are thousands evolve boards sold, while onsra just few and event according to Fabi, no other reviews. It migh have same issues as evolve and many more

I have a gtr. There is something wrong with that gtr in video. I did 25 miles other day, right after ride I grabbed board by motors, little warm is all. End of my trip is uphill. This video does not represent my personal experience with the gtr at all.

There are different grades to waterproof-ness, and I think it is rated relatively highly, IP65

Less maintenance and noise on the DD for a small torque/speed sacrifice. DD is objectively better and the future :)

Hey fabi you have to do the same test with the premium ONSRA AT vs one of evolve bamboo AT Gtr, so we can really see the main difference in price and quality

If you actually tune it you can get 60-70kmph with it but it does heat up a bit more this is def faulty

I’m also in The Netherlands, I’m debating whether or not to move to Berlin this year but if I don’t I’ll buy one of these boards as it’s better than evolve in every way for a much cheaper price. Evolve just seem to be 100% all about the money even though some of their problems are extremely dangerous like just randomly cutting out and throwing you off the board.

Yes i ship to the US and Canada. Always improving everything i have. The only fear for my customers is to have an old board within 6 months 😅 Imo it’s important to always improve and try to get the best out of a product. I wouldn’t feel comfortable to say this is the best if it’s not.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Evolve doesn’t like their customers going full throttle. Full throttle causes over heating and battery sag. Evolve suggests you take it easy, really? Their boards are not fast or powerful and they want you to take it easy?

I have a carbon gtr. Doesnt have any issues going full speed for the whole ride. And I'm about 100kgs.

I have a GTR too. Its climbs hills with ease and doesn't heat up to the level he was suggesting. So he either isn't reviewing accurately ( I like Fabi, hopefully that's not it) or that gtr has motor issues.

Considering that failed exway vs evolve review I hope this isn't another version in reverse...

Evolve is a Pos company! I bought a carbon gt and swapped everything out with. Vesc system and larger motors and added a Sony battery pack and my god my board is a monster hitting 34 mph with 175mm wheel’s

His Evolve board was years old and fabis prototype was brand new, its only normal for the engines to start failing. They need to suck up? they never took this issue as an unfavorable comparison the fuck? Stop hallucinating child, Evolve has 1500watt motors while Onsra uses 1300watt

Boosted use LifePo4 cells, which have less voltage; that's why they can do 13s. With regular Li-Ion batteries 13s is too close to the 60V max the ESCs can handle. You risk having to replace a lot of ESCs for customers if you sold a board with 13s.

@@rusinsr Those cells are in the Boosted standard range battery. The extended range is 54.4 volts (on the battery label) = 4.2V per cell if 13S. If you wanted that voltage with LiFePo4 you'd need 15S

Battery issues Opinion on Evolve's GTR choice of Samsung 35E. 1. GTR output claims: a. 20A consistent. b. 52A for 10 seconds burst. 2. Four parallel (4P) array of 35E at 25C/77F: a. 32A continuous discharge b. 60A maximum burst discharge 3. In a perfect environment, this fall within manufacture specifications. Esk8 is a harsh environment for electronics. 4. Note: a. Continuously pushing cells near recommended limits results in 60% capacity at 500 cycles. b. External temperatures in summer will rest higher then 25C, enclosed environment will not allow heat to dissipate as temperatures rise, increasing degradation. 5. Alternatives: a. High confidence that Evolve tested in relation to the Samsung 30Q. b. 35E sags an average of 0.1v more than the 30Q at 8A over a cycle period. In a 10 series (10S) configuration, that's 1v of ~36V. c. 35E contains ~14% more capacity than the 30Q. d. At 8A continuous; the 35E loses 8% cycle capacity, 30Q loses 1.7% ... resulting in a 8.4% difference in capacity. e. This is until 2.65V, however Evolve software cuts off power at 3V. In lab tests will be needed to compare capacity at a 3V cutoff, however I'm confident that this will bring margains even closer between the 35E and 30Q. *5b. Adds further concern. f. Over continuous cycle use, 35E will experience higher levels of degradation than the 30Q. 6. Conclusion: Evolve continues to design on manufacture datasheet limits. The choice of 35E was not wise due to the largest concern of degradation for; aggressive riders, AT off-road, hill areas, drag races. Minor concern for minor decrease in acceleration and top speed. 7. I will obtain a 35E for 3V cutoff in lab testing within the coming weeks. Rebuttals highly welcome!
