On Hwy 17 Trans-Canada Hwy approaching Road 101 to Wawa!
www.google.com/maps/@47.99204...
At the end of the video, a black-and-white OPP cruiser waiting for new "customers"... NOT ME!!!
Have been using RDs since 2005 and very rarely I get to detect OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) running Ka 35.5 GHz Police Radar!
Type of police traffic radar used by OPP in this very video:
decaturelectronics.com/law-en...
Police Radar bands and frequencies:
www.guysoflidar.com/tech.html
More similar videos in this very Playlist: • RADAR DETECTOR vs. POL...
RDs are VERY illegal in Ontario (on the spot confiscation, hefty fine and three demerit points upon conviction!) as well as in Manitoba, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, Commonwealth of Virgina as well!
Unless you're a very skilled and experienced RD user driving especially in Canadian Provinces where RDs are very illegal, DO NOT TRY USING AN RD AT ALL!
Got questions, fire away!
Drive safe and drive smart!

Awesome to find someone posting abt RDs. Suppose one bought a undien r3 and this supposed person lives in Ottawa. What settings would you recommend?😏

That range is insane!!

This video confirms that when the vehicle with the RD is uphill and the police cruiser running radar is downhill, that's when you're getting such amazing detection range! Moreover, when your RD is mounted up by the sunvisor, that's the max range you can get from a stationary police radar! BUT when it's mounted up high you're very vulnerable to laser therefore if you live in legal jurisdictions like BC, AB, SK and any 50 states except Virginia plus DC you gotta figure out if laser is used a lot in the area you're mostly driving in and then make up your mind where to mount it, up high, in the middle or very low just above windshield wippers! Drive safe and drive smart!

@@ChrisRoadWarrior would it work the opposite if the cop was downhill and running radar upward?

@@Racksx Shorter range in that particular case! And in this video, one Alaska State Trooper running the very same Decatur G3 Ka 35.5 moving police radar: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-011PokImaEE.html Btw, you need an RD that shows the band AND frequency, anytime you get an alert with a Ka 33.8 (MPH Industries), 34.7 (Stalker) and 35.5 (Decatur of Kustom Signals) that's 100% police radar! Unfortunately those RDs are high end and pretty expensive! Mine is a high end Beltronics STI Driver, sadly Escort has already discontinued all Beltronics RDs for the North American market, they were all manufactured at Escort's state-of-the-art Mississauga, Ontario plant, now all their Escort RDs are manufactured in Asia!

@@ChrisRoadWarrior that’s unlucky, but thanks for the info. I got my M2 delivered 2 months ago and I’ve been meaning to buy a radar instead of purely realizing on Waze. Now atleast I know which ones to look for

@@Racksx Which American State do you live in? If you don't live in VA or drive thru VA to get to your final destination, any current RD will be a good option, ultimatelly all comes to your finacial options, right? www.escortradar.com/collections/portable-detectors All Escort RDs are now manufactured in Asia! uniden.com/collections/radar-detectors No idea where they are manufactured but 100% not in America! Also I strongly recommend hardwire it and mount it up by the sun visor unless your cops use a lot of laser that's when you gotta mount it very low but in that case you're gonna lose a lot of range against in-cruiser police radar, stationary or in motion! And then you gotta take it easily, learn your police tactics, startegy, logisitic, etc., what type of radar they are using, band and frequency, the more you drive better RD user you'll become! For me, using RDs since 2005, no more secrets out there! Be aware that most of YT channels about RDs are all about very simple presenantion of RDs, none of them including one called Vortex Radar, have real-life police radar videos! That's my Playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLInTFVcLGchkLM7VGoM47TYwpHqsRfguV Feel free to ask further Qs, if any! Drive safe and drive smart!

How often does OPP use Ka band? Seems like K band hits are most common when it comes to radar and OPP.

Hard to tell unless you start making a living by driving on our provincial hwys and rural roads! Practically it's no big deal, keep the main Decatur radar unit and only replace the front and rear antennas from K-band to Ka-band, that's it! All GTA municipal police forces have Ka-band radar units installed in their traffic patrol cruisers! Unfortunately, pretty rare to get some brave ppl out there driving in Ontario with a radar detector AND making YT videos like mine! That's why there is just one RoadWarrior: ME! Be well.

@@ChrisRoadWarriorYeah from what I've seen online Ka hits are most common in municipalities. I saw videos on TPS using 33.8 MPH BEE units. Also have you experienced laser hits on these rural highways? I hear OPP is very fond of the DragonEye. I'm from BC, so as you prolly know we have 34.7 mostly and some K band and laser. RCMP most uses 34.7 and municipal favours laser like LTI from VPD and APD. RCMP also has PL3's, LTI's and majority DragonEye here too. I run an R3 and R4. Love the range on these detectors, can wait for uniden to separately release their laser jammers so I can plug em into the R4.

@@RonyIsaPony "I saw videos on TPS using 33.8 MPH BEE units" Most likely is just me as I live in Toronto, lots of those particular vids in this playlist, some vids going back ten years: ru-vid.com/group/PLInTFVcLGchkLM7VGoM47TYwpHqsRfguV I've driven your province for about three weeks, from Yukon border to Fort Nelson, Dawson Creek (Alaska Hwy Mile 0), Prince George, Williams Lake, Hwy 99 Scenic View to Whistler then two weeks in Vancouver then Delta, Surrey, Chilliwack and the entire Hw3 to AB border: ru-vid.com/group/PLInTFVcLGchlnB7Wb6SIn7pTUK8yIN-01 Got pulled over somewhere in very rural BC, RCMP laser hit 91 in a 50 kph, got off with just a warning, young RCMP cop confessed I was his first Ontarian he got pulled over in his entire police career! Got two parking tickets in BC, Whistler and Vancouver, before that other ones in Edmonton, Yellowknife and Whitehorse, Ontario has got no inter-provincial agreements involving parking tickets therefore... see you later alligator lol only an idiot pays off out-of-province parking tickets! BC is a damn beautiful province same like Quebec but to live there, not in a million years! Enjoy the Sunday evening!

@@ChrisRoadWarrior Yeah I watched your TPS 33.8 videos. Also that laser hit, 91 in a 50 is impound territory in BC. You're super lucky but being an out of province driver and your age was a factor in your stop. Do you know what laser gun he shot you with?
@ChrisRoadWarrior
@ChrisRoadWarrior 7 месяцев назад
@@RonyIsaPony That was my third speeding warning instead of a real speeding ticket, first was in 2015 South Texas, second in fall 2020 in my own Scarborough (TPS) and third this one, all laser! It helps a lot the way you accept guilt, remorse, apologize, very good behavior, etc. But true, I was asked where do I live (answer: Toronto), reason to be in that area (answer: long road trip with details) and for how long in BC (answer: up to three weeks)! Location: somewhere south of Dawson Creek on Hwy 97, no idea what laser gun the young RCMP officer used on me but I bet it's the same brand and model RCMPs use everywhere throughout BC, laser or radar units! At very short range no RD will ever save you from a laser hit unless cop left the radar unit running in the cruiser so a K or Ka alert will make you slow down within local speed limit, but in your case b/c RDs are legal in BC (AB & SK too) and maybe you got the money (damn expensive!), you can install something like this laserinterceptor.info/products.html or similar but then you gotta learn how to use them properly and efficiently! Drive safely!

What are measures you take not get caught? In many provinces they are illegal. Do u ever unplug the radar detector if u get pulled over/ or park ur car in an easily visible area

It depends of the seriousness of any particular case, regardless, in 18+ years of using RDs I've learned a lot how to outsmart LEOs in illegal jurisdictions! ru-vid.com/group/PLInTFVcLGchkLM7VGoM47TYwpHqsRfguV No Guts No Glory, right? Drive safe and smart!

@@ChrisRoadWarrior I’ll definitely watch through it but I’m thinking of getting a Uniden r4 and wondering for you if you ever had a circumstance where you almost got caught/ had to hide it. There’s no doubt your an expert at staying low
@ChrisRoadWarrior
@ChrisRoadWarrior 8 месяцев назад
For Ontario: 1) Never let any LEO see it with his/her own eyes while driving or in any parking lot, 2) In case of being pulled over (any RD is useless at short range laser hit!), remove it BEFORE cop approaches your vehicle! It takes time to become a professional RD user and that includes being very familiar with all types of police radar, bands and frequencies! Which jurisdiction you drive the most? Be well.

@@Ibrahimk.74 As I live and work in Toronto, have not been driving in Peel Region for 10+ years but I bet they use Ka 34.7 or Ka 35.5 police radar! All Beltronics (sadly now discontinued) and Escort RDs for the NA markets were manufactured in Mississauga (visited their plant twice), couple of years ago Escort closed down the plant and now all their RDs are manufactured somewhere in Asia! My Beltronics STI Driver is Made in Canada/Ontario/Mississauga! No idea where Uniden RDs are manufactured! First and foremost you gotta accustom yourself with their type of police radar units they use and then disable the rest of radar bands! Limo tint all arround and hardwired RD helps a lot with a smart concealment! Be well.
