Boox is killing it with e-readers. I mean, just look at how many products they released these few months? if only the one in my shopping cart would be magically be paid for and sent to me :D
Yes! I was watching and then suddenly realized how small it was compared to his hand size and I was taken aback by how small it is. Definitely will reconsider when it's a larger size 😄
Wow, I am absolutely floored at how amazing this thing is! I went from thinking that I need to get me a Kindle to read books while I'm at the fire station to now seriously considering buying a COLOR e-ink reader/tablet! The fact that I can see color on screen without the eye strain from regular phones/tablets/computer monitors just BLOWS MY MIND! I love technology, this is so awesome holy shit! 😆😆😆
Can you compare the colors with the previous Boox color unit? Also, what's the contrast like? Having a benchmark for contrast would help a lot. It's very difficult to tell in the video.
You're right, I bought the Nova 3 Color when it came out, and it was really bad. Could not read a book without turning on the front light because it was too dark, I sold it the day after I got it. I would like to see a comparison as well.
I hope they keep this new range of color ereaders! It is noticeable how they are making new improvements little by little, like the new light configuration.
Superb review. Thank you so much for going through all the features and outlaying this device in a detail that's not simply a brush over. Much appreciated.
I hope they improve the battery in the next model as it seems to be a drawback compare with the previous model Otherwise, it looks like we are getting closer and closer to a highly competent color e-reader. Thank you for bringing us these reviews!
Omg THANK YOU for the update one OneNote compatibility!!!! Old reviews show the lag you talked about, and it seems like OneNote responded by updating the experience!
As a law student prepping for the bar, the notion of an E ink screen and the ability to study outside is an absolute win. Undoubtedly this technology will continue to improve and hopefully become more affordable. Glad that at least this channel is advertising the various brands trying to create something more than the loathsome Amazon Fire.
As a fellow law student, definitely recommend the original Max Lumi if you want to make the jump soon. Plenty big to fit even the chunkier pdfs (like the Finnish official statute books with their tiny font size). And lawyers don't need colour - they say some of the most ardent practitioners have even ceased to see it at all.
Great video! Could you please compare reading ebook on Nova Air C with regular Nova Air? Just to understand the differencies in "whiteness" of the screen...
That is a must. People need to see color eink in front of B&W eink inndiferent situatioms to know how much they will lose in contrast. In other side it seems color eink has lighthing on near all time in this review. This is an indication contrast is bad.
Because of Good E reader, I first bought a Nova air. And just this March as soon as I saw that the Nova Air c was available, ordered that one. Love them both.
This is my contest entry. Also gonna buy the next generation of this with the kaleido 3, as I recently learned you can connect to an external sd card card reader and have unlimited room for all the manga
Thank you for this! I am very interested, A 10.3 or 13.3 inch version would be perfect. But I don't think I will wait for that. One question though, you mentioned a optimized version of onenote, does this version also support handwriting to text conversion?
Fantastic development compared with Onyx Nova Color ... the speed is unbelievable ... and ghosting effect has been removed. The size of the screen is one limitation if someone wants to read a PDF magazine. But soon after 10.3 inch is released, I think this device will be the new trendsetter for eBook Readers universe.
I got mine and I'm returning it. Buggy as snot. Deep setup for Chinese. Happy about the Amazon return policy. The brutal experience made me appreciate my Kindle scribe.
I like the way this review focuses more on the device rather than than the face of the reviewer. Other reviewers keep the camera focused on their face 90% of the time. How are we supposed to have a good handle on how the display looks like? 🤷♂️
@@goodereader Thank You Peter's wonderful Team. You guys are unsung heroes. We all praise and thank Peter (and Michael) but you guys deserve equal credit. Its always Team effort. Feeling guilty that I don't know your name to thank you by name.
I've had mine about 24hrs now and I've noticed 2 things: First is the refresh mode isn't system wide. Under the apps & app management, under refresh mode settings: each app will LAUNCH with those settings there. So by default, Kindle Launces under SPEED mode. Set to NORMAL to see true HD quality. I've found every app to be like this. Some are even defaulting to A2. While the speed is AMAZING, sometimes I want that HD quality that looks so amazing on this color screen. My second problem has been Goolge won't let me login with the sync on Chrome and other apps. It's like it's being blocked and I'll investigate more later, but that's just slightly annoying. It is after all it is an e-reader.
Battery life has been about 12-14 hrs per charge. I've been on it constantly, downloading and surfing the internet. I'd imagine shutting off WiFi would give more but I couldn't imagine much. I myself was hoping for weeks, but it's been being charged daily.
No glow light off review. No xomparision with B&W eink reader to see contrast lost in color eink with glow turner off. I like eink because it doesn't emit light, like paper. If color eink needs glow light on near all time, it's not like eink and it's not like paper.
I realised the probability of winning this contest, is somewhat plausible (still low) and your channel is absolutely credible, thus, I entered. I guess I might win?
I believe the improvements on the screen and os are nice but once again the lack of sd card is the factor that makes it a no go for me, that is the only lacking part of the device but the expandable storage is so inportant for me that i wont be buying this device unless i find a solution for this
My first eink device was the kindle keyboard and i still use it because its the only device know of that has text to voice which amazon got sued for effectively make any book an audio book. This is the reason i still use it today.
