OO Gauge SCENERY - FENCES, FENCES & STILES
Big thankyou to everyone who contributed to the fences decision. Please understand more foliage needs to go in, and the backscene needs modifying.
In this video I:
explain the materials used and why.
show how the rusted fence is made.
show how the 3 bar fence and stile is made.

Excellent! Terrific depiction of broken down post and wire fencing. Just what was required! And I wouldn't have thought of including stiles, but they certainly add to the picture.

Hi John. The fence and style look just about right, as a delapidated old fence would look like and you have done a nice job of placing it all. Well done. Regards Geoff

Thanks Larry very kind. Yes bit tedious but compared to other tedious jobs Ive had to do this comes in as ‘easy’ ha ha ha. Take a look at my ‘Bricks, bricks & mores bricks’ video, now that was tedious - eight days of that. It brought tedious to a whole new level lol.

Brilliant again John. Another quick and easy method of making a fence lol. You don't make things easy for yourself. I've just finished my wall and tunnel portal it only took a week 😂 mind blowing. The fencing looks great but I don't think the stile would pass the British standards now. Only joking as I spent a goodly part of my life putting stiles in then ripping them out and replacing them with small gates. A great job John. My static grass arrived yesterday so I can get on with landscape scenery again now a bit of a relief from bricks cheers Andy

I wonder just how old the "matchsticks and cotton" method of fencing is? It must go right back to early Tri-ang at least but I've seldom seen it look so effective. The trick with "distressing" the fences is to make it look like it's kinds meant to be like that, so it doesn't look like it's just fallen over on the layout, it had fallen over "in reality". You've achieved that perfectly.👍👌 With details like these, there's no right or weong, as they represent stuff in less than perfect condition. Sometimes, things just "look right"; then you know you've nailed it.😁

John it definitely doable in N but a lot easier if you use the N-Scenic posts. They are pre drilled with the holes and so, install the posts then feed the wire through once dry...done a few now but very fiddly none the less...cheers

Hi thank glad you enjoyed it. Im loving both scales. They do each have their own challenges as the things in N you cant see suddenly become visible in OO and need to be modeled lol. Thank you fir taking the time yo comment
