After hearing the news that Ken Page passed away and seeing other people creating some loving tributes to him, I thought I would make something too, something special in honor of the talented man that brought our favorite boogie man to life. He truly was one of a kind.
It's pretty sad, we lost a lot of beloved actors recently. We lost James Earl Jones, and Maggie Smith, but losing Ken Page right at the start of the Halloween season was really heartbreaking.
Since Oogie is singing Ursula's song, I thought it would be cute if Sally was a stand in for Ariel, since they're both red heads. And Lock Shock and Barrel act as stand ins for Flotsam and Jetsam.
It's also sad that you have Oogie singing Ursula's song, and we lost Pat Caroll in 2022, and Paul Rubins, the voice of Lock in 2023.
Drawing Oogie was fun. I worked really hard on this.
I wasn't sure if the ending was too silly, or I should've made 2 separate videos.
I thought maybe Ken's other character he voiced needed some love too.
People say that Louis and King Aligator would get along. I think he and Oogie would also get along, happily singing together. And I wasn't sure if I should draw the bone in his nostrils, in case it wasn't ok, I just kept the design simple with less detail...
