My conclusion for this species is that it always gets rid of undeveloped ones, i have seen so many times it is always the one who hatches late or the one who doesn't manage to compete for food with other siblings, once they did test her why she throws one always. The particular one I've seen had three eggs of which only two hatched, there was this younger one who hatched one day later than the other, undeveloped in size, so it threw it away, not before it tossed it left and right in the nest, causing injuries in the neck. One week later they took the other bird and replaced it by two others when mom was not around, but much more younger smaller in size, mother looked confused for few seconds but accepted them, this bird is not smarter so it was tricked rather easily.
Infanticide - a natural instinct of certain birds when they have oversized broods. The smallest one- that is not thriving as with its siblings is the first one to be eliminated. It's nature's way. Now the siblings' chances for survival until they fledge just increased substantially. And mama has a more manageable group to feed, and protect.
probably because this one was a lot smaller than the others. Storks usually have only one or 2 chicks so as this one was smaller it likely would've starved to death if the parent hadn't ended it early for it. It really made it a favour
Dalek Cat No, the parents can’t keep up with the food supply so many require so they sacrifice the smallest/youngest/weakest b/c the parents don’t want to continue constantly feeding all of them. Some get rid of all but 1!
Hi everyone. If you read this message please read the Holy Quran the direct words and the final message from Almighty God.It will guide you to peace truth and happiness in this world and the afterworld with my lovely wishes
These birds are the worst. It's shocking to watch eagle and hawk nests and then see these awful birds. They must be crappy hunters if they lay too many eggs and have to kill 1 or 2 every season.
Listen if you people pay attention to the video you will see the mother does not just grab the youngest check and throw it out for no reason if you notice and rewind the video back and put it on slow-motion if you need to watch when she singled the chick out and pecked him that little baby started going to hog ass wild trying to pack the baby next to it when the correct answer is those babies should be at a DOS Tsaile mental state where they should not be packing each other that’s their nature and usually if one bully out of the bunch starts packing another baby the baby will just lay down it won’t fire back and that’s what they’re supposed to do but every now and again because birds will have a clutch of eggs that they will get a clutch every now and again that a bully is born into the bunch and the mom knows this and you have to understand one thing that’s the problem with humans today you’re too emotional and use your emotions ....get out of your emotions these birds don’t use emotion when they execute decisions that need to be made to bring peace to the nest rewind the video go in slow motion you will see when she singled him out he started going and packing the other baby which is not what they’re supposed to do they’re not supposed to be packing each other and that’s why mom threw his ass overboard he’s going to be a problem later on when you gets a little bit older and a little bit bigger and starts really bullying the other babies he’s a problem waiting to happen she eliminated the problem so now she don’t even have to worry about him doing that to his own eggs because use your brains people if he’s a bad seed and grows up he’s going to go lay more eggs that are just Like him with his genetics so I don’t just this bird or another store it’s all of the same birds they have a model they live by eliminate the problem it’s almost like this is how they keep the peace and raise healthy young that are mentally stable and not bullies because anytime one of those babies exhibit nasty behavior towards another baby and the mother will eliminate it
