I really like how each song has a slightly different tone. Augustus' song is upbeat. Violet's is ominous. Veruca's is somewhere in the middle, while Mike's is...I'm not sure, but whatever it is, I like it the best.
Hannah Shribman-Brown Mike's one is the BEST! Augustus's song is kind of pretty, and so is Violet's. Veruca's song kind of reminds me of Disney's frozen a little bit.
I feel like the words coming up on Veruca's song makes the sequence feel a bit dated. You can tell it's a Seventies movie. But then again, I kind of like that effect.
Hannah Shribman-Brown It was made in the 70's but it took place in like the 20's or 30's. Though, it still reminded me of songs from frozen a little bit like the song "Frozen Heart" (the ice cutter's song).

Basically, Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory is a test to see whether a person has any good morals or not. Those who have bad morals will meet their unfortunate demise because of their bad habits.
I've always wondered why it was one kid at a time they picked off, instead of putting them all in a room with all their weaknesses/temptations there at once, since that route would have resulted in less damage and been just as effective (and faster, Wonka doesn't seem to have much patience for these people). It's just occurred to me- it wasn't just a test of good morals- it was also a test of how well they learned and if they could recognize their faults. Each song about the kid that was picked off was deliberately phrased as a warning for how the remaining kids should proceed. They could only follow the warning if they were aware of their faults and were willing to improve their behavior. This factory would be the best reform school ever.
The Oompa Loompas must've been describing Charlie the whole time. Think about it. Charlie wasn't greedy like Augustus or Mike, he had good manners unlike Violet & he was certainly not spoiled like Veruca.
I always thought it was “If you like reading” for Mike Teavee’s song. It makes more sense to me, since they already had a greedy character (Augustus), and the song talks about how books are better than TV.

***** I always cried when Willy Wonka yelled at Charlie, because I thought Willy Winks was really yelling. But then later I found out CHARLIE's reaction to it was real too, he actually thought he was yelling at him
Each Golden Ticket winner, except Charlie, represented one of the 7 deadly sins. Augustus: Gluttony (He kept eating like a pig) Violet: Pride (She kept bragging about her record) Veruca: Greed (She just wanted more and more) Mike: Sloth (All he ever did was watch TV all day)
Charlie: Envy (He was sick of living in poverty.) The point was, Charlie wasn't willing to give up his standards at the end and was generally a good kid, but still a kid (He yelled at his mum earlier on, not out of malice but just because he was upset and Grandpa Joe tempted him into stealing a swig of Fizzy Lifting Drink).
I seen some kids in preschool watch this, the next day they stopped being so rude. Hm..I wonder if it will have the same affect on some brats that Live with me
Iyana Scott try saying that to the people who now compare the Oompa Loompas as a little person version of Donald Trump with green hair and white eyebrows.
If Willy Wonka was put on trial a judge would probably give him 80-100 years in jail and a fine of I would say 100-120 million USD since he would have been guilty for manslaughter(killing 4 kids that would also result in a fine of 20million USD for each death) , for slavery and illegal immigration since the Oompa Loompas were transported from Oompa Land to his factory where they worked with no payment(resulting in extra years in prison and some more millions down the line) . Yes this is one of the best films I have ever watched and I just ruined it for me too but does it matter when you know that Willy Wonka would suffer in jail for probably the rest of his life. Lovely
I actually like these songs,It teaches good discipline,Augustus and Mikes song teaches to not be greedy,Violets song is to have good manners,Veruca is to not to be spoiled.
me too, it has the most character, just the way the melody, the lyrics, and the vocals all flow with each other, just amazing, the others are good too, but they do not have that feel the second one does

@@yeesnomepiccool this comment was made 5 years ago,ok. Another thing,we already know that it's Willy wonka and the chocolate factory. So what's the moral of my comment? It is that bringing up an old comment is just plain stupid. P.s. charley and wonka aren't the same thing.
@@yeesnomepiccool One more thing, saying "I know right" is also stupid as chewing gum all day long in a "way that a cow does". You sound like an annoying teenage daughter saying that.
When I was in a play 12 years ago, my friend had to wear orange makeup for her cat costume...I jokingly told her, "you're turning into an Oompa-Loompa!" Needless to say, everyone laughed out loud! :P
@ryangamble6697 Burton's movie isn't a remake. Both films are adaptations of the novel written by Roald Dahl in the 60s, with this film being a more Disney-esque adaptation, and Burton's being a more faithful one for those who want something much closer to the source material. They're very different entities with different approaches to telling Dahl's popular story. If you want to see something that's actually a bad remake of your childhood, watch the sh!t Tom & Jerry one 😂
Augustus Gloop : he just eats and eats and eats candy Violet beaurgarde : she chews chews chews gum all day long Veruca Salt : she just wanted everything she sees Mike Teavee : he justs watches tv every day
Chumba wumba gobbledy goo Life isn't fair Its sad but its true Chumba wumba gobbledy gee When your poor legs are stiff as a tree What do you do when your stuck in a chair? Finding it hard to go up and down stairs What do you think of the one you call god? Isn't his absence slightly odd? Maybe he's forgotten you Chumba wumba gobbledy gorse Count yourself lucky your not a horse They would turn you into dog food Or into chumba wumba gobbledy glue

i know how you feel... i just scanned the entire list and wow people need to lighten up... to be hoenst, i loved it, i loved it so much i didn't notice any fuck ups...
if you would paid attention veruca wanted a oompa loompa, sailing boat, chcolate river and golden egg laying goose just because wonka has it greed=envy
funny I always thought that the moral of that movie was that if you didnt do what the insane candy man said then little orange men would come and take you in your sleep, but that makes more sense. but really good job I wish you had the whole tunnel scene on this though, still thumbsup.
I love the Ommpa Loompas! and i love the songs. so this is great. Not meaning to sound nit picky though, but i thought I would mention that when it gets to the Veruca Salt version arount the 2:20 part, the lyrics are "Blaming the kids is a lion of shame", not a lie and a shame. lol but still brings back great memories!
When I’m a mom and my kids don’t behave and do what they’re supposed to like brush their teeth, I’m gonna be all like, Oompa Loompa Doompity Do, Oompa Loompa Da Dee, If You are Wise you’ll listen to me.
I strongly advise anybody wanting an Oompa Loompa for a pet that Oompa Loompa's and Munchkins are natural enemies and must not therefore be housed together
