"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1971) featuring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka has been my favorite movie since my early youth, and it continues to hold a special place in my heart. While I also appreciate the 2005 version with Johnny Depp as Wonka, the nostalgia of the original movie resonates with me in a unique way. Today, on Thursday, July 4, I was moved to record a lighthearted piece after witnessing a troubling and disheartening inaugural debate involving our newly elected parliament and our brand new Minister President. The experience was so distressing that I felt the need to "cleanse" my mind.
Amidst this, I stumbled upon a sheet of music, a mere lead paper, with which I used to tinker around. My performance features pedal solos and a commanding Tuba, along with the delightful image of a dancing Oompa Loompa on my console. My goal was to play this improvisation tidy and neatly like the character of the Oompa Loompa tribe. My hope is that this piece brings a smile to your face."
