Llanfairpwllgwyngyllball I don’t mind them being close to shore for gameplay purposes. As long they aren’t right on the beach and a good distance away like on Iwo Jima, it’s fine.
@@RedRazorback15 The problem is though you don't have any naval combat like in Battlefield 1942. I want to steer these ships and drive themover to a different part of the island.
Here are also some inaccuracies: - Little to no British gear for the British faction - German uniforms have their colours wrong and too washed out, they also miss iconic details such as the eagle or the collar tabs - The deluxe edition set, the Fallschirmjager, bears no resemblance whatsoever to what Fallschirmjager actually wear - Scope for the M1 Garand is placed wrongly - BAR has a wrong RoF (max RoF was 650) - Wake Island has the U.S attacking instead of the Japanese - Tons of modern gear available aside from the GP-5 gas mask , such as the M65 jacket (The Weatherman), MF-22 gas mask (AKA), 1980s raincoat (The Wolf), modern ballistic vest (Crewman), various modern BDU trousers, modern camouflages, - Nachtigall set and its variants make the soldier's arms female even if they are male - Model of the Archer TD is wrong, the engine part looks totally different than the real counterpart - StuG IV starts with the short 75mm gun which it didn't have historically - Staghound and Panzer 38t have access to 20mm autocannons which they didn't have, though I guess that it is for gameplay purpose (could have used the Sd.kfz 234 Puma instead though) - Sherman has access to HEAT shells with the 76mm gun, however that gun didn't use HEAT shells irl
OMG the damn sight placement on the M1 and Kar 98 makes me go crazy..... Plus how can your soldier aim and get close to the sight when his head is right above where the casings eject and in the middle of the damn gun....
On the topic of gasmasks, what the hell is with the Dead Mans Hand/AKA gas mask? It’s a MF 2008 Chinese mask, one used by the Chinese engineer from BF4
Easton Waguespack Its embarrassing thinking they did so much research into the Italian T.35 gas mask, yet they failed to release that the mf2008 is modern.
IHateKidsWithAnimeProfilePics Actually its not, its actually a mix of German horsehide motorcycle jacket, and a Kriegsmarine foul weather jacket, I can see how you think its Swedish tho, Sweden and alot of other Nordic countries used German uniform designs after WW2, most famous being the Swedish M39/M58.
@@J.Wolf90 They look nice and mix up the monotony of having a million different paint schemes of the same helmet or something. Also, a lot of the cosmetics in BFV are based on special forces and paratroopers, where you'd be most likely to find a gas mask.
Obsecure error: Level 200 medics jumping around with 1100 rpm smg's killing absolute everyone with rambo style. Also heals himself constantly after being hit.
I just wish the cosmetics were a bit more realistic overall. Like maybe a ghillie sort of thing for snipers that will change colour depending on the map. I really hope that they bring tank and half track customization soon because that's just a joke now
Ironically now that the games basically been unplugged from life support People are saying dice should have Advertised bfv as an alternate history ww2 game.
@@FirstDagger They might as well just leave same interior for that cutscene, just change exterior airplane in game world to JU52 and paratrooper models from Brits to German falschirmjagers.
On Wake Island there’s a grassy bunker that you get on, well there’s an invisible wall that you can’t shoot through unless you are standing all the way up and you usually get mowed when that happens
@@MrFlyinghellfish the ability to choose a different aperture is a huge qol detail. Not to mention it would fit great into weapon customization... Oh but kids are more concerned about "skins" and "camos" (even though most camouflage patterns offered arent real) so that's how most of customization in most games goes these days anyways...
Remember that the Type 99 Arisaka (Early-war) had a flip up aperture with a freaking Anti-Aircraft sight, if you could do that in-game though, firing 7.7 At a Metal-framed aircraft. (I see you mosquito, I know you are made out of wood)
Then why didn't they use any of this research for te game ? It is the reason I didn't buy Battlefield V. The first one in the series which I did not buy
OH GOD I was waiting for someone to show some missed details in the game cause there are a lot of them! For example (I don't know if it's in the video) the Breda Battered skin shows the gun's mechanism but the bullet in the chamber only appears when you're reloading, otherwise it's not there so you're basically shooting air lol
When reloading the m1 garand mid clip, one live round should be ejected along with the remaining rounds in the clip. This is because the m1 garand fires from a closed bolt but you need to pull the bolt back to reload a new clip in. For example, if you shoot once and reload, 1 live round is ejected and 6 are in the clip. So if you shoot 7 times and reload, 1 live round is ejected and an empty clip is ejected.
@@sims09b because with the current way they create patches and fixes it never will be a finished polished game, see the devs test these updates and patches on a different version of the game than the public one, yep you heard that right, their version of the game is different than our version of the game, a truly WTF moment right there lol
Fallschirmjäger parachutes didn't allow them to control where they went either. Kind of glad they didn't add this, would make jumping out of the transports really obnoxious.
One more obscure error: incorrect installation of the optical sight on the M1 Garand. The optical sight was never mounted on a sniper version of a rifle in this way.
The most egregious screw up without a doubt is the lack of a single actual British Uniform. 50% of the base game was based around the British Faction , which for some reason are _all_ kitted out in American gear. Aside from a few variations later in the war, the standard British battle dress was _Brown_ not a greyish-green like in game. DICE seems to think the only visual difference between British and American forces was a Brodie helmet instead of an M1 which just isn’t true at all. The closest we can get is the Sandman variant because of the P37 we gear pouches which came standard, however it is an American army shirt. The desert camouflage makes it similar to the correct brown but is still far too light. Sure it’s understandable that dice would want to pool British and American gear for customisation; but aside from the we gear and pouches on the Sandman: there isn’t even one actual British uniform.
@@al1b4b4_ it's a little flightless bird called (Wake Island Rail) that was extinct on the battle of wake island Hunted to Extinction by starving japanese
I'd LOVE to see more of this. Here's another big one: The M1 Garand Scope is completely wrong. It's mounted on the wood of the rifle, where it was mounted I believe in line with the gun, mounted directly in front of the iron sights. The scope to me has a distinct look, being it so close to the gun itself. I also think the Sturmtiger's aiming milidots/range indicators are not accurate, at least in terms of the game. I.e. 300 meters on the tank sight does not equal 300 in the game. However, I'm probably using it wrong. I could never get German sights.
Great video. I liked all these little nitpicking details you found. Also the M1 Garand reload doesn’t need to have the hand push the thing forward. I can’t quite explain it probably 😬 but when the clip presses down it automatically launches that receiver thingy forward. You may have already covered this.
“if you’re not interested in petty mistakes, this video isn’t for you” Lmao seems like that’s all people ever want to talk about. Rare that you see positive comments, at least in my experience.
A Jaded Lizard Oh no, I know. I’ve watched all of his detail videos and seen a fair number of things even I didn’t notice, and he’s generally pretty cool. I’m more talking about the community at large.
@@dr.mcninja7354 Yeah, large parts of this community are dumb. Getting upset about women in this game, but being totally cool with the Arditti in BF1 or jetpacks in BF1942 doesn't make sense to me.
A Jaded Lizard I know what you mean but I’d hardly say it’s negative either. Some of them (mainly the Grand Ops cutscene, still don’t know what’s up with that) do need fixing, but for me it’s cool to know that my StG44 wouldn’t actually work, but it also looks pretty darn cool in game and I’d rather they didn’t change it (all Waterproof with the Night Owl stock, if you’re wondering)
Are we gonna forget that DICE thinks every little hole in a tank is a machine gun port? The optics on the sides of the Pz.38. The aiming port for the Archer's gun, along with the port the driver looks out of. Because apparently you can fit machine guns there.
To be fair: It seems that its just supposed to give people something to do when sitting in those seats. I think they even had similar stuff on vehicles in Bf4.
Let's not forget that the Nydar Reflex is available for 50% of the guns excluding the gun it was actually mounted on. (The 12g Automatic/Remington Model 11/Browning Auto 5)
After my dad watched me play grand operations my dad whom severed with airborne rangers told me that is a combat jump they would throw you out at 500 ft because when troopers would jump at the usual 1200 ft germans would shoot paratroopers out of the air it was developed in ww2 and is a tactic still used to day
I also noticed in the jump sequence that the captain for that germans was wearing an American ammo belt and field bottle. They have a lot to fix in this game
One of the inaccuracies in the pacific maps is the troop transport trucks are opel blitz‘s (German transport truck) and not a Japanese transport truck.
Folding stock on a StG44 wasn't tried by the Wehrmacht, but someone actually did that. German company Sport-Systeme Dittrich offered semi-auto StG44 copies with a MP40 folding stock and a "modernized" G36 skeleton stock. Another one was made by someone as a garage job.
Awesome... the C-47 Airborne mistake bugged me enormously from day 1, definitely made the game feel rushed! Wasn't aware of the Stalhelm being wrong, wow, that's a big one! Most egregious error for me is the "Slay for the Queen" coat for the British faction - how could they not notice that???
Also, most of the landing crafts were driven with the Browning M1919s facing forward with the ramp to the rear of the beach. And because I like some historical accuracy I usually drive in reverse towards the beach when driving. One more detail that would be nice would be to add a vertical foregrip option and M1A1 iron sights as an option to the M1928A1. I mean, it's a Chicago Typewriter, I need my vertical grip if I am gonna use a drum. And if I'm a Marine I want my proper M1A1 Thompson with a side ejecting port. Not to mention the Nydar Reflex Sight was specifically manufactured for the Remington Model 11 which is a patent use of the Browning Auto 5. Yet, there is no Nydar Reflex option for the gun in game.
I noticed that the model for the P08 Carbine has the incorrect magazine. DICE's model uses an MP18i magazine, which is in itself a modified P08 mag, but with an additional part designed to prevent it from being "over-inserted" into the submachine gun. The luger has a much deeper magazine well, so the MP18 mag would never feed into the P08. It's a weird slip up considering they got it right in BF1.
Oh, I noticed it. The very first game I played as Germans on Grand Ops. I couldn't fucking believe it was released like that and even more that it has not been changed yet. Not a nit picky mistake at all. It's a major immersion breaking mistake having a C47 full of British troops when you are supposed to be on the German team.
There are soooooo many inaccuracies in this game in terms of authenticity, makes me think they didn't really care about making things right, I guess they were more concerned with making the game feel as arcade as possible to attract new players who wouldn't care about historical details. Such a shame man...
Don't forget the M40 and M42 were used alongside the M35 Stahlhelm, though very similar, the M42 has a sharp, non rolled edge, while the M35 and M40 used a rolled edge that took longer to make and used more metal.
Great video Flak Fire and there is a big problem with the Tiger tank. The Tiger in bfv can be seen with the early model turret with early commander cupola and early model mantlet but has the late steel road wheels. There were a number of tigers like this but we're used as training tanks but did see action in 1945 as a final stand one was knocked out by a British comet tank in 1945. DICE need to get a grip and change the road wheels to rubber rim wheels. If DICE go to Bovington tank museum they can see Tiger 131 the most famous Tiger tank of all and see the correct details. The Tiger did use steel wheels later in the war but had a different turret and a much more different commanders cupola and mantlet. It's annoying playing the Tiger in the desert with the wrong road wheels.
@@spartannoah the line they hook in before jumping out of the plane, it's function is to open the parachute whithout additional action required by the soldier
With regards to Grand Ops, I’m much more bothered by the fact that for some reason you’re a German soldier jumping out of an American plane full of British soldiers. The plane, I get it, maybe with the stuff that came up just before launch they ran out of time to make a new model. But I wouldn’t have thought it would be too hard to change the outfits of the other paratroopers? Personally the static line thing is sort of a ‘cool to know, but it doesn’t really need changing’ incorrect detail
Not to mention if they were going for dramatic feel they missed out on the prior steps. Get ready, stand up, hook up, equipment check, sound off for equipment check. That whole process would have definitely added an immersion aspect that they missed out on. And the rip-chord animation..... why...?
Thing that bother me about the Pacific update is that Dice give us the Able helmet for the Japanese instead of the metal one. The metal helmet mostly used by the Japanese soldier during the war especially on Iwo Jima. Other than that, I thought America was supposed to defend the Wake Island.
The mask ilse uses is extremely similar to the sm-1 mask , issued earlier in the war. Quite similar to the gp5 except the 'exhaust valve' is slightly slanted
-All the faction squad leaders use the same radio -The japanese are using 6 pounder british ATs -US invading wake island? -Opel trucks in wake island? -The Japanese use type 97 as HMG instead of The hochkiss design HMG most type 97 were used in tanks .. These are also some mistakes by dice
Hey Flak, one error someone else pointed out was the LVT stock configuration. Apparently the hull and the turret belong to different variants and were never together. The turret belongs to the A1 variant while the hull is that of an A4. I need to do more research tho to confirm this.
Bonus Round: The Iwo Jima skin for the Sherman very clearly is stamped "US Army"...despite the US Army not participating in the battle of Iwo Jima. What makes this especially odd is that other skins for the tank from other theaters where the Army *was* more present don't seem to have the same stamps: i.e., the one time it shouldn't be there, it is, and the times it should be there, it isn't.
A Jaded Lizard I noticed that too! The only non marine division on Iwo Jima was a National Guard unit, which is *technically* army but yeah. It makes no sense
@@eastonwaguespack3578 That's the thing I really don't get. It's almost like the Iwo skin is a legacy from when DICE planned to implement the ETO US forces first, and then changed directions. That'd also explain the US Army cosmetics the British got a few months ago.
What bugs me most is that the ships in the background of Narvik and in the campaign mode are the Iron Duke class from BF1, which makes no sense as the irl Iron Duke was relegated to a training ship before WWII. It would make far more sense for it to be a ship like the Warspite, which is famous for her service at Narvik and in other theaters.
my guess with the P38 missing a firing pin is that the 1912 and the 1911 were reused models from BF1, So they still have the pins. However with the P38 being a new model, they didn't bother
The “forward assist” on the garand reload happens too frequently. Should be about as frequent as garand thumb. I get that reload animation more than the correct unassisted bolt.
The maximum throwing distance on the sticky grenade (after 5.2) is only 5-10 meters! And for me, the biggest hiccup (or cancer) is the missing service stars and no medals to earn, and nothing to unlock when playing on a daily basis
I noticed a thing for some time ago.. When you reload any bolt rifle for example the Kar98k, there should be ejected one round as you pull the bolt back. If you have 2 rounds loaded, and you choose to reload, there should only be one left after you pull the bolt back, this means that instead of loading three rounds (2+3), you should load 4 rounds (2-1+4)
@@demanischaffer Yh, maybe. I have experience shooting with Mausers, and when you pull the round out of the chamber you need to push the round back down, and then push it backwards. When you load rounds into a mauser without pushing them all the way backwards in the chamber, they will eventually bounce out when you try to push the bolt forwards. I don't know if just blocking the ejecting round would work, I think it would bounce out as soon as you remove your hand, unless you push it back down.
The color schemes for British and German uniforms. The Germans don’t really have anything like the true Feldgrau they wore (green is the closest imo) and the British don’t have the correct uniform garments or the right color scheme. I believe the closest thing to British pants are the “Aviator” pants featured on the Germans, and the closest top would be the “Tropical Grit” for the American faction. if you put those two together with a true brown color, this would be close to resembling a British uniform.
Nice vid as always! I even learned a thing or two lol. Hope they fix these issues..but I realized that I have never payed enough attention to even notice these major things hahaha
Alex Schwieterman the usmc didn’t have women hitting the beach so wdym they were nurses ext the only time they even came close to combat was the eastern front
When I first played and saw that stahlhelm I was quite mad. As someone who wants to do german reenacting and also collects world war 1 and 2 stuff, it's just cringe worthy. A triple A company can mess up on such details like the helmets like that
You forgot the British gas masks! Most of the cosmetics for them wearing gas masks are of the s10 and fm12, they were not made till the 90s. Not to mention one of the American cosmetics had the British gas mask. Thank you for pointing out the gp-5, I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that.
As Italian and as soldier, the big mistake of the Alpini cosmetic with a Bersagliere vaira helmet really upset me, I mean, is so iconic and isn't so hard just fix a name.
Nice video. I would love to see character customization based on the enviroment the map is set in. Its so silly to see those cold weather jackets on Germans in African maps. Same with brits seeing them using north african campaign uniforms in ice cold Norway. This is my idea how customization could be categorized: UK: - Standard - Snow - Desert Germany: - Standard - Snow - Desert USA: - Standard (Europe) - Pacific - Snow Japan: - Standard USSR: - Standard - Snow Italy (Bonus) - Standard - Desert
@@ellis8238 Oh really?? Well of course those too aswell. I never knew that. Thanks👍🏻 But did Japanese ever fight in snowy areas aside from maybe China which probably wont get added in BF5?
