On going BEAUTY!!! I AGREE, gardening excerise is FAR more effective for the mind peace, and we do develop some muscle lifting mulch bags and stone. 😊 Have an enjoyable holiday.
I got a new hydrangea for Mother’s Day! 🥰 The deer keep eating them down, so I’m trying to decide on fencing the property or transplanting them all into the vegetable garden that already has a fence. I would rather spend a whole day gardening than spend one minute in the gym!😂
A good day is always transformed into a great day when you plant a hydrangea!!!! Love love love this! I definitely agree you can never have too many hydrangeas.
@Gaye Lorde I have had success rooting them directly from a "parent" stem by air layering. They tend to do this naturally when the stems are allowed to run across the bottom and have a direct connection with the soil. The stem will develop roots and you can prune it out and pot it on.
Your garden just gets prettier and prettier! ❤ You are doing a pretty good job at having something blooming and in color each month. I’m not quite there yet but goals!
I just have to say your videos are wonderful. They give me such inspiration joy and it feels like listening to a “friend” talk in her garden. I love the updates. Keep them coming!
I totally get what you said! To me it’s David Austin roses I have collected over the years, and there’s always room for more! 😂 I can also watch your garden tour everyday. It really makes me want to go out and keep working on mine. Thank you 😊 ❤
The garden is just BEAUTIFUL!!! I so much enjoy seeing what you are planting, and what plans you have in store! It is so enjoyable to watch. Your style is wonderful and I've learned so much from you over the years! It seems these past two years that you have really excelled at bring the garden to a new level!! Well done!!
Hi Danielle, I'm with you!! There's always more room for another hydrangea lol lol why limit yourself if it brings you so much joy! Good for you!! Fill your garden and your soul by planting everything you love. " Happy gardening" 😍
What a coincidence! I’ve been buying hydrangeas like a crazy woman recently😂. Recently picked up a Invincibelle Ruby hydrangea. I have already purchased a dark blue Pop Star and a Little Lime. Thinking of adding a Strawberry Sundae to those. I’m building a border garden in front of a white picket fence. Want the border full of colorful blooms.
Your gardens are magical. Your sense of placement, plants and color are perfect. Grace is gorgeous and entertaining. What have I missed. Thank you, Danielle.
LOL love the title! ha, ha.. I think we can all understand the hydrangea obsession, and that gardening is our work out. We are here with you! I have a Q- I just bought 3x new macrophylla hydrangeas in 1 gal pots so they're young about 1' tall, how long and how many times a day should I water them. I will be installing a drip system.
I don't mind at all when you get more hydrangeas 😍😂 like Grace. And yes my eye kept being caught by the kousa dogwood too. Stunning with those cascading platforms, what a beautiful specimen or perhaps the way you prune it, I'm not familiar with them.
The Felix Krauss is the peony on the left that does NOT have a yellow center. I love your beautiful gardens. I have lived in Florida for the past five years and I so miss the catmint, peonies and hydrangeas.
I just bought 3 new hydrangeas, they’re called Bubblegum, Marshmallow and Mojito 🙂 and Ophelia Switch/Polestar All look very beautiful but I’m not sure where to plant them 😅
Your garden is looking great. This year was my first year to plant Alliums, and I love them. After seeing all yours, I’ve ordered more for next year. Thank you for inspiring us in our gardens.
My garden makes every day better for me! I planted a lot of daffodils (for the first time) this year, and every time I see them it makes me smile and feels like sunshine ☀️! 🌱
I spent my day planting 5 PWs Rose of Sharon and some Sprinter boxwoods. Tomorrow is 4 Quick Fire Fabs and 3 Little Quick Fires along with more boxwoods, PLUS Low and Behold buddleias! Making my flowerbeds from scratch so it's tough work. No gym needed here either. lol
I would leave the white blooms in the walk area, they give a contrast to the bright colors. They enhance those colora. I agree with removing from Hydrangea room though.
Oh those dark pink peonies and the dark purple alliums are my favorite. They really stand out in the garden. I just bought 2 puffer fish hydrangeas in a standard tree form. Can not wait for those big beautiful blooms. That is one of the main reasons I watch your channel because of all the beautiful varieties of color. I am not a fan of light pinks or purples. Give me all the bright colors ! Love the smell of honey suckle. Maybe plant vermillionair for the hummingbirds?
You are such an inspiration. Love your gardens and your channel. It’s a beautiful day here in Missouri. Hope your weather is great also. Have a wonderful week.
At almost 80....(on September 1 birthday)...any day Ii can get out in the garden is "a good day"....even if it's just weeding......Who needs a gym? And who can handle all that music...? I truly love the quiet and the birds and the big black bumblebees and the butterflies😊
White goes with everything. Put it near pink flowers and it will meld in… Your gardens are better & better. Just gorgeous! I have a question for you please. When I moved to this house there were 4 huge peony plants. The flowers used to be huge. Now before they bloom the heads are the size of a green pea. Do peonies age out? If I divide them would that help? Or shall I just throw them out? I really appreciate your time.
The Peruvian daffodils are sooooo gorgeous! I grew them last year and loved them so much. Was hoping to find more bulbs this spring but couldn’t find any in the local retailers💔💔 Wish I had dug the bulbs up last fall
Hydrangea is so easy to propagate I don't understand why you don't it ..take a clipping dip in root tone..a week later roots..I just don't under stand why people don't even try..but I do love your channel..😊
Great Video -- Have you considered adding treillage, espalier or some ornament for the back of the accessory building? Looks like an opportunity to add some interest on an otherwise blank white canvas.
We just added 3 more oakleaf hydrangeas in our new woodland space. But we went with snowcicle, since we just do not have the space for another of my all time fav -- Snowflake.
Thank you for your garden content, always so helpful! Can you please tell me what kind of watering can you have? I cannot find one that I like and every time I see you watering, i think thats what I need! Thank you.
Hi friend! It’s this one - www.amazon.com/Dramm-12454-5-Liter-High-Grade-Watering/dp/B000WEPEUU?keywords=dramm+5+liter+watering+can&qid=1684160363&sr=8-2&linkCode=sl1&tag=daniellekeeto-20&linkId=853622862fed84437ca8d841e0dbc0d4&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
I'm thinking I need to buy a new hydrangea. I'm really not happy with two varieties that I have right now. Two are fine but I'm never really satisfied with the others. Thank you for always giving such great reviews. I can't wait to try one of the Annabelle varieties. 🍃💗🍃
Danielle, was orange part of your new color palette? If I may offer a plant suggestion, geum. I lean towards cool colors, but when I planted an orange geum several years back I was thrilled with the strawberry-like blooms. I have mine paired with nepeta and it takes my breath away. Unfortunately, whatever this variety is only has one flush of blooms. I think 'Totally Tangerine' blooms all season. Mine has long stems, but I can't bear to cut them for a bouquet.
It's a great time to propagate some cuttings. I'd take 6 cuttings of your honeysuckle and put them in rooting powder and grow them inside on a sunny position, (not full sun).... They will take root in about 4 to 6 weeks. Saves money and driving around. Jo.😊Your kousa dogwood is amazing!!! Those albums....are they from seed or bulbs??? My seeds never took, even though I wintered them for at least 6 weeks, in the fridge.
My Ambassador Alliums did not return from 2022. They were gorgeous last year. I am in Zone 7...leaves but no Alliums this year. I will leave them in ground and see if they return in 2024. Happy Gardening!
I cannot buy the Allium bulbs here in NZ! I have found seed but read they are tricky to start from seed and can take up to a year to get germination!! I don't think I have that kind of patience 😅
@@jesssmart6379 try anyway! I You would be surprised and get sucked in in the process. I’ve started a few very tricky perennials this year and all of them sprouted and growing, some took 5 months to sprout.
i lost sooo many seedlings this year with spiders mites... no more peppers... on 9 kind of tomatoes only 2 made it ...angelonia ... and agastache that i started in february 😢 i will be more aware in the futur in 5 yrs of growing indoor was my 1st time . the garden looks beautiful!!!❤
Your garden in May is lovely! What plant is behind Grace at the very end of the video? The tall narrow stalks at the front of the border to the right of the allium. I've seen this before in your videos and wondered about it. Thank you!
TY for helping me decide on which Invinciball color to choose. I also like garnet, but haven't seen that at garden centers. I love nepeta. Yours is so tall, is it Walkers Low? I bought a couple "junior" Walkers Low because I read the original tends to flop and have had 'Blue Wonder' and 'Purrfection.' One is already splitting so I'll either divide it or prune it back. I really like that variety of alliums. I have tons of naturalized 'Purple Sensation' that look weak and puny this year. I should divide them. Join a gym. Haha! 😆 I started this season so out of shape and kept telling myself to take a walk. I can tell I'm in slightly better condition several weeks into gardening season. But I also need to take a walk.
So pretty!! I just planted my first hydrangea and I'm so excited. It's a bobo pinnacle 😊 what is the bush to the left of the water fountain with burgundy-ish foliage and the white flowers? It's so pretty!
I feel this way about roses! Theres always room for one more 😅 i was wondering as i noticed i dont think you have any unless i missed that, do roses grow in your area at all? In fact i feel that way about a few plants! Roses, peony, dahlia, lillies are all hard to resist! Iv got a couple of hydrangeas in but they are still young and small i look forward to seeing them grow , lovely video as usual! ☺️
If they grow well in your area .. why not? Do what u love ! They will multiply soon too. Not like in my state - I have to replace plants every year since I don’t like perennial bushes.
Good morning! Very nice to wake up to a May mini Garden tour ❤️ I believe the honeysuckle grows 8 to 10 feet high, are you willing to wait so it can grow over , without competing with a second, growing from the other side, and into it? Thank you for sharing Eb zone 6 R.I
One of the best gardens I've ever seen and one of the best bloggers. I have a question about the grass path, it seems the grass always stays in good shape. Does your family never step on it? Or you always try to step on the stones, not on the grass? And if there are no stones? I am trying to figure out if I should do the same.
It is way too easy to buy another hydrangea! I have 4 in pots for a couple seasons now because I loved them at the nursery but don’t have a place for them in my landscaping…..so they just move around to where I need color. Lol! But, any tips for hydrangea leaf tier? My 2 in ground have suffered the last couple years. I do pick off the infected tips, but of course that is taking the blooms with it. I am curious if I should cut them to the ground and use a systemic (no other flowering plants are around them. I know I would sacrifice a year of blooms, but maybe it would kill the larve and less new ones the next year when the flowers come back? Thoughts?
Can you please share the name / source for the 3 arbors you have the Scentsation Honeysuckle Vines growing on? They are exactly what I am looking to buy. So beautiful!
