Hey, just wanted to thank you for all the tutorials. As someone new to baseball AND OOTP, they are by far the clearest, most comprehensive guides I've found. One thing that would be really helpful to me would be a guide to trading to improve your team. For example, how do you identify viable trades that strengthen that the other team is likely to go for, that kind of thing.
ABSOLUTELY! That's a huge part of the game, but I wasn't sure exactly how I wanted to approach a tutorial about it. I think I have my answer now, so I'll have something to put out soon.
Good question. I do. I used 0.750 aging speed and 135 talent change randomness. That being said, some have suggested that this year's game actually has a better aging curve, (in comparison to previous editions) so some who previously used 0.750 are switching back to the default.
very helpful sir, thank you. I find a majority of these kinds of videos irritating and difficult to watch. Thanks for not trying to be funnier then you are and not forcing us to watch your talking head, I appreciate it
10:05 You were looking for that one player that got drafted, but I noticed that your cursor is on a guy who is 17! Do you know how this is possible? I can't see in the rule 5... rules... where he would be eligible unless he was playing professionally at 13ish.
Awesome video. Question...if you put a player on the 40 man secondary roster, can you take him off again and avoid paying the MLB salary? I uh...had no idea what the 40 man roster was for (still dont know actually besides protecting prospects from being rule 5 drafted) and noticed it needed to be filled up so...I just put all my best prospects on there. Players who are nowhere near ready, and probably not even rule 5 eligible lol. Not near my game right now but I'm gonna have to go have a look at that as I probably added a few million to the payroll that didn't need to be there :(
Yeah that's a tricky one. By adding them to the 40 man, you've basically given them that guaranteed MLB salary. The only way out is to waive them (and someone pick it up), trade them, cut them and pay the money, albeit just for that year, or cut them during the arbitration period, where it will cost you nothing. Then, theoretically, you could offer them a minor league contract to come back, but they might be upset having just been cut. As for the uses of the 40 man, think of it as your reserves. These are the guys who will be called into action if there's an injury, but for now they'll stick in the minors in AAA.
about two years late but i have a pretty loaded team and i kinda fucked up. i didn’t watch to the end of ur vid so i didn’t catch when you said that it’s not cursory to rule 5 draft a player. so in this past years rule 5 draft, i took 6 players. is the best option to DFA them and hope they clear waivers? i can’t even begin the season because of the roster spots they take up
@foolish boy Hey what's up watch all your videos and learn so much. Even if I knew those stuff I still learn, so now I have a huge trouble learning a new MLB team any way you can make a tutorial or something and explain something about it I have a small white board what should i use it for or like writing on paper anything you got and examples?
Hello! I am not trying to be rude, but I am having trouble understanding your comment. I have been learning German for a few years now, so I know how that feels. What do you mean by "learning a new MLB team?" Do you mean, learning the positions, or what players that they have, or picking a team? Maybe something else?
