@@FudelioTCG I get that and I’ve thought about it but I have a lot of life opportunities already and most games I end up playing at least 1 7c big mom and/or 2 9c Yamato plus with hiyori and Momo I have many a good amount of possible ways to manipulate life. I ended up with 5 life against a katakuri one of my last Yamato runs and he just quit lol

haha nice! Yeah if you run 7c mom & 9c Yamato then running the green 0 cost for the consistency of the rest on trigger is totally understandable

im pretty sure that same person goes to my locals here in Auckland, he's prob the only person I've seen to play the O-lin in their deck

Yeah i saw that! Unfortunately I didnt know about it when I was making this vid otherwise it would have been a good one to shout out. Olin is a really powerful tech card for sure. I've seen ppl run it before in JP but have never tested it myself. I do think it's a bit risky bcus u need to be at 1 or less life to trigger and it's another card w/o counter. That deck runs 26 counterless cards (and only 12 1k), so that's on the very high end, especially for Yamato. Plus, putting that into life with Hiyori, you need to be absolutely positive you can protect urself for the rest of the attacks coming your way, and running less counter than normal already makes that a bit riskier. OP5 Hiyori's good, that 2k counter flex spot you can put anything really (Bege, OP5Hiyori, Mihawk, Satori, etc) Really cool list though! Congrats to him on the placing : )

@@FudelioTCG the trigger effect is live at 2 life actually. Since the trigger effect will check and resolve in trash.

No problem! Thanks for the kind words. Glad those parts helped you get a feel for it. RP Law is really strong too. If you’re having trouble deciding, maybe base it off of what you see at your locals? If everyone is playing Moria, it might be best to go with RP Law bcus that’s a bad MU for Yamato. But if everyone’s playing Sakazuki, Yamato would be a good choice. If you’re not sure what ppl will play, it really comes down to which deck you prefer. So testing on the sim and seeing which one you like a little bit more is also a good idea. That way you don’t have to fully commit and buy extra cards just yet. Hope that helps!

The sky island build is the more aggro version. The 3rd list I show in the sky island section is the best “super aggro” version you can run✨

Thanks! I think in OP07 the best builds are the Samurai build that uses the OP01 event and the aggro Sky Island build that uses the new events from OP07! They both have MU that they’re better at so it kind of depends on the meta, but they’re both strong :)

Yeah kinda :/ 2k Jinbe promo is a bit hard to get a hold of as well, and I think the other builds overall are just stronger. I wanted to include that build in this vid but decided to make it just the main 3 for simplicity

It entirely depends on the meta But if it were op6/eb01 and reject didn’t exist I’d either do a Sky island hybrid with momo blocker and some Wano char teched in (izou hiyori kikunojo) or a full Wano trigger build and just hope for the best

Moria: My main tips for this would be just really looking for Hody, Kikunojo, and Nekomamushi in your opening hand Those are gonna be your main cards to deal with his blockers (Neko attacking active), and Kiku will most likely stay on board the whole game unless they wanna risk giving u an extra life, and Hody for lethal turn against Moria with the Wano build you need them at 3 life ASAP, so that's priority #1 You want to take first and swing heavy 8k at lead turn 2. if they counter, attack again or rest their blocker with izou and swing again next turn. If they lose all their cards in hand defending its going to help you late game from there, its just about getting cards out of hand while swinging at life and bodies on board until u can go for lethal Save reject to pop Sabo or their last life. Don't use it for anything else unless you absolutely have to to avoid losing the next turn If they go to 3 life early you can play momo blocker to heal life. that'll give you enough time to set up another body on board or maybe even get an Onami banish swing off from there it's more of the micro decisions but that's the gameplan.

Reiju: pressure them down early again. You're either going to get them to 2 life or make them use their counter. Be careful about playing Kikunojo bcus they can bounce it back to hand with big Niji effect. If you see a Niji in trash, don't play Kiku, might be better to just play something w/ counter and set up that way. Momo/Hiyori combo is strong in this MU. They have to be running Black Bug to get rid of Momo. Until Yamato gets rush 5c Ace from ST13, there aren't as many options to play good char, but it's still winnable. Hody is clutch in the MU bcus they're going to have a lot of cards in hand and a lot of ppl are playing Queen blocker right now. You'll be able to rest and go for game with that. Amaru boost is very important too, bcus you're probably going to need the boost to get over all the counter they may have

Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. the other Hiyori 2k counter is totally fine, I just like Satori or Bege more for the OP6 build. Olin is a fun tech card too but it doesn't have counter so I'd have to get rid of the 9c Yamatos probably. It can definitely work though.

idk, I see a lot of ppl playing Mihawk, I just like other 2k counters more : ) Every time I run him I end up taking him out. I don't think it's worth it to lose the resources from hand and you want to swing 8k at face on your 3 don turn so it's almost always not worth it to play him early.

I think Mihawk is totally fine, you just have to be careful with losing cards and counter from hand

@@FudelioTCG I think he's great on 5 don turn. You'll usually want to establish a Kiku on board on 5 don anyway so to drop him and a kiku while also being able to swing 7 just seems so strong.

if I tried Gedatsu I think first I'd maybe try to reduce the number of events or Sugar. But I haven't tried fitting him into my build so that's just the first thing I can think of. Hope it helps though :)

@@FudelioTCG thank you for responding! I just started playing fortress on the sim and I’ve been loving it. I’ve been watching this vid and others nonstop too to try to learn haha. I’ve think I’m gonna try your deck instead of the one with gedatsu, I’m also a little split on sugar. I haven’t been able to utilize her well. Or maybe I’m just not facing too many matchups where she’s necessary. I’m thinking of maybe taking out one sugar and adding one more monet or killer. Is sugar just there for that added aggression to be able to get a hit off or for lethal?

@@FudelioTCGalso I’ve been having a TON of trouble with Moriah. Faced one today that completely destroyed me. I had two kids in hand and each time they were out, they got ice aged, attacked by kuzan (-4) and then rob lucci’d. Probably just very unlucky but since black has such board removal, if I’m going against saka or Moriah, should I just try to be full aggro and abandon the kid strategy?

no problem! glad it's helping. Sugar is really just there for Sakazuki and when you need to sneak past a 4c blocker, but she's not 100% necessary.

Moria's tough no matter what. If they play Kuzan and you can rest it and KO it before you play your Kid, you have a way better shot. If they're set up with Kuzan and you think they might have great eruption or ice age in hand, you can switch to an aggro plan and just try to use Hody and blockers to survive while you go for lethal. This is where Sugar could also be useful to rest Rebecca or 4c Borsalino. This is actually where Doflamingo can be really strong too. If you have 1-2 Doflamingo to play back to back it can hurt black decks a lot.

yeah the fact that you can have fun making all types of builds for Yamato is why its my favorite leader : ) I think it's worth getting the alt art

That's fair. I think if you're playing in IRL tournaments or locals though, it's worth running until it gets banned
