I found it a lot easier to leave the gearbox in place and pull out the motor. You lift the motor till it has room to slide to the right over the car frame. Then you support the gearbox at that angle and the engine slides and lifts out. I had to file a v shape on the clutch plate hub splines so it guided onto the gearbox shaft.
@@mechanicigor It took me about 2 hours to pull the engine out and about 2 hours to put it back. I did not have to take off the air inlet manifold or the exhaust manifold. Also the altenator and starter motor stayed on the engine as there was still clearance to pull the engine out.
Nice video, but you forgot to say about the driveshafts. You need to either disconnect them from the hubs, or remove them from the transmission completely. Otherwise you will not be able to remove the transmission. And to disconnect the shafts, you need to remove the nuts from the tie rod ends and disconnect them to get working room. It's important.
Hello, one quick question. Few days ago i done clutch + flywheel on vauxhall astra 1.3cdti, everything works but something keep draining my battery when car is off. What should i check first? ( drainin started after clutch replacement) Thankss!!
hello Igor ! Since my mechanic changed the clutch and pressure plate.. the car never started again .. i´ve paid a test of the high pressure pump because he said that was the problem..and it is ok . so the almost starts to work but it doesn´t .. what can it be ? any help please ? it´s a Corsa C 1.3 CDTI 2005 . crankshaft sensor changed too ..no luck ... distribution chain ok Thank you very much
Did you check for fault codes and what fault code you have and also there is a cable on top of the transmission so there is possibility to be stuck between engine and transmission and short circuit the sistem
@@mechanicigor my mechanic said that the error from crankshaft sensor persists . he bought one new sensor and still persists. Thank you very much again Igor i´ll ask him about that cable on top of the transmission
Open the bleeding screw and let it to leak for a while then close it and press couple of times on clutch pedal the open again and again let it to leak repeat the process 3~4 times and clutch pedal will be perfect
