Im not a mechanic but whenever i have similar problems, i always watch your videos. Great job. Keep up the good work. When you share with others your wisdom, God increases you with more.
Another option to lock the crank is to wedge a flat screw driver in the flywheel....there is either a cover plate that you need to remove (earlier models) or a gap between the oil sump and gearbox (later models) where you can do this. It's a small gap on the later models...so look carefully
Put the car in 5th gear and press down on the brakes, this will lock the crank. You'll need a friend to help though. I've done it by myself once by jamming a piece of wood between the seat and brake pedal
Hi there, what type of gasket do you use for your oil pan / sump gasket ? Is it a crock or rubber gasket ? Reason being that I used the crock gasket and the engine keeps on leaking oil. Please help me.
Hi . If your sump cover is flat on top then cork. If it has a groove use the rubber. In some cases use a small amount of high quality gasket maker on the outside of the rubber. Make sure all the screws are turning tight and are not stripped. Surfaces must be totally clean before attaching the sump.
