It always warms my heart hearing someone discover Batman: TAS and loving it. Because it tells me I didn't love that show just because i was a kid when it aired. Its an absolute masterpiece.
It sure is. Last year bought the bluray set and watched it again in all its glory. The definite batman for me always is Conroy and same for joker with hamill.
House of Usher overall was not "woke" but had unmistakably and unnaturally inserted woke elements in it...at the very end they insinuate that Trump is one of the demon lady's clients, it's subtle but definitely there.
4:29 - I turned 40 last year, so I'm as old as "Return Jedi" and this may very well be my favorite Star Wars film even though it's far from perfect. And it's good to live for so long that you see all my favorite franchises gone in flame... it feels great! 😉 But at least new Shogun is good - a surprise to be sure but a welcome one ! 40:52 - well, I somewhat agree with guy who said that "2001: A space Odyssey" movie is massively overrated. Drinker complained about Lynch's "Mulholland Drive", about the fact that MD is completely open to interpretation and that even Lynch himself probably don't now what this film is about, so what's the difference ? I had to admit that I've never seen MD, so I don't know if Drinker is right about that film but can someone explain to me what's the difference with Lynch's "open to interpretation" film and acid trip of third act of 2001 ? Also even though 2001 have some obvious philosophical themes it also have a lot of scenes of "crap floating in space" 😂- endless takes of ships flying, scenes contributing nothing to the plot, scenes you were complaining about in Snyder's Justice League... Really, I 2001 novel by Arthur C. Clarke is much better than the film - not only it has clear description of what's going on but it have best scene in this story completely changed in the film; scenes in which is shown how civilization is born. In that scene is shown how every night predatory cat is skulk into cave occupied by tribe of hominids and they all stay completely quite, covering in fear even when cat abduct one of their own. But after Monolith arrived and it thought hominids new things, entire tribe attacked predatory cat and together they killed it, by throwing rocks at it. Taking a collective risk was a key to success and was fundament on which civilization is build.

It’s really well done, although I think it reduces Blackthorne to a supporting character when he was written by Clavell to be the lead. I get why they did it and they do a good job overall, but with this series and the 1980 miniseries, you kind of get half the story from each, so it’s good to watch both.
In Gary’s defense, I also thought it was the panel talking over the animation/video… lol but ya I guess there’s no precedence for that EVER so, I guess we owe them an apology :p
That’s why I can’t watch fnt or certain episodes of efap, if there’s too many ppl it seems inevitable that they start trying to talk over each other and it’s grating. Disparu seems particularly prone to this behavior and being long winded, sometimes I just skip episodes he’s on. Don’t get me wrong, the man has accurate analysis of the situations presented at times and can contribute significantly at times but man I hate interruptions when I’m trying to hear a persons point.
Black Sails not being seen entirely by Drinker & Mauler who love complex story telling baffles me. It is my favourite tv series of all time so far & unfortunately came out on Starz during the ever rising fame of Game of Thrones which I adored until the massive deviation from the books where D&D did their own thing instead of adhering to GRMM's template of awesomeness. They cut out some integral characters to the story which affected intertwining plot lines. Just my opinion & also loving the recent remake of Shogun which I didn't think was possible considering the original series from the 80's. A fascinating series which I am eagerly anticipating each new episode release. Am also enjoying the new HBO tv series show called The resident starring Kate Winslet. Have an awesome day/evening everyone 🤝
@@nont18411 Ain't that the sad truth when they had a homerun on their hands. I used to think that they would of benefited from an almost 2 year gap in between seasons considering the cultural impact letting GRRM finish the books before finishing the series & by adding at least 2 more seasons if they were releasing every season annually. But obviously in hindsight I was wrong on GRRM finishing the books in time or if he actually has, setting his ego aside with the latter seasons criticisms.
Oh hey, I just went to go check up on that guy. Most of his comment section is efappers trolling, and like 3 guys high af on copium trying to smack talk every comment refuting OC. It’s kinda glorious…
If books are acceptable, R.A. Salvatore’s Icewind dale trilogy is really good and Ed greenwoods books on Elminster Aumar are also really cool if you have any interest in the forgotten realms setting…
39:55 Mauler is incorrect. The live panel was talking and laughing over the video so no one could hear the audio. Gary was correct to tell them to shut up. 47:20 Drinker pronounces a user named "to be or not to be" as "toab or not toab". Channelling xQc there lol.
yeah in the beginning they were talking over it, I actually went to the guy`s channel to hear it all clearly although it was just mostly shouting as well. 😀
22:00 - There's nothing wrong with having a business-only relationship, even if you get along with those "professional" relations. One of my favorite bands, KMFDM, is coming up on its 40th anniversary. The singer of that band openly admits to only talking to his bandmates when they're together as a musical group; after they finish recording their albums, touring, and doing press interviews, he sometimes goes months without speaking to the others. I believe that has something to do with their longevity, and I've always found it a bit strange that some jobs expect you to become 'friends' with your coworkers.
As long as they don't pretend to be friends I would not mind either. It is nice they get along on a personal level as it makes the banter feel authentic.
25:15 Wake in Fright is a must-see. It's a wild ride of a movie about a person's moral degradation. The main character doesn't "accidentally drink too much", he gambles all his money away in a small town and he's stuck there. Some locals befriend him and he starts drinking a lot and doing some fucked up shit, although apart from certain scenes involving kangaroos, the movie is not too explicit and surprisingly there's hardly any swearing but the movie is definitely gritty and raw. It's from the same guy who directed First Blood.
Thanks for all your posts, guys. It's four in the morning and I can't sleep for a bunch of reasons and listening to you two has had me genuinely laughing out loud and has cheered me up when I had anticipated being miserable until the rest of the world woke up. You're doing a fine job and providing a public service. Maybe you should claim a cut of the TV licence fee. Just a thought.
Oh, when it comes to books I can’t forget to suggest Elizabeth Wiley’s “the well favored man” and also most things by Piers Anthony…though his xanth stuff is a bit more for teens, the Mode series has some heavy stuff in it and “on a pale horse”, the first book in the “ incarnations of immortality “ series is good but also deals with some stuff that can be weighty. Piers Anthony’s “apprentice adept” series is kind of in between teen stuff and heavy stuff iirc and there’s a nice mix of sci fi and fantasy.
Yeah I figured it out but thanks so much And I can totally see why these hags are insecure. Hannah is a delight! From my perspective Hannahleeduggans seems kinda fake, maybe it’s a misread but that’s why I was confused
Its not even that Cain offered crops when god wanted a lamb, but that Cain offered general leftovers from his crop while Abel offered the first and best of his flock. Its legitimately "bro your stuff is low quality"
Regarding best movie you went to see when you where growing up. There were so many Star Wars, Deer Hunter, The Exorsist, Close Encounters, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Apocalypse Now, The Godfather, The Warriors, Rocky, Life of Brian, Mad Max, Blazing Saddles, The Sting, The Pink Panther movies, Kramer vs Kramer, Midnight Express, Jaws, Alien, the list goes on and on, I loved all of them, I can't pick one. Maybe Alien if I really have to pick.
“How much would we appreciate La Gioconda today if Leonardo had written at the bottom of the canvas: ‘This lady is smiling slightly because she has rotten teeth’ - or ‘because she's hiding a secret from her lover’? It would shut off the viewer's appreciation and shackle him to a reality other than his own. I don't want that to happen to 2001.” -Stanley Kubrick, Playboy, 1968
For the corssover, you could just invite one person from every stream to show up for the anniversary show. But I would feel bad for Mauler being in the bar all alone.
@@MegaSpideyman Their albums Wishmaster and Once are some of my favorite albums from them that have Tarja, I still like the other albums, poet and the pendulum was awesome, but idk maybe it's nostalgia I just love their stuff with Tarja better
Shogun is an FX/Hulu production, not Rodent House Plus. I still need to look into the details of that because I may have to bootleg it to avoid violating my boycott.
There's already a "defense of Michael Bay" video that is pretty good. It was on Cracked back before they fired or drove off all of their actual talent. Something like "Why Michael Bay Is Secretly a Genius" or something like that. It goes into his education, and then into some of the things in like, Transformers that might just be wickedly slick criticisms of modern society which people probably missed because they were only looking for CrashBoomBang.
Was getting a little worried there you weren't gonna get around to my Super Chats lol. All good, I'm a patient fellow. Willing to wait as long as it takes. I made the comparison between the state of Star Wars and Silent Hill as franchises. The fanbase, likewise, for Silent Hill is probably equally as nutty & insane. The amount of in-fight squabbling and divisiveness because of conflicting....opinionses. As much as any rabid fandom out there I suppose. As for Silent Hill: Ascension, you do not wanna know. Only that it's a Bad Robot Production product. Take that as you will.
If I sent Super Chats regarding my thoughts about the 1st Silent Hill movie, it might end up resembling something akin to that 5-parter epic rant about 2001 hahah. Agreed with CD & Mauler. I believe there's a clear difference between ambiguously confounding 'perceived' nonsense by someone like a Kubrick or a Lynch that can possess actual meaning and is arguably fantastic artistry as film... ..and works that are merely fancy, superficial, surface-level pretentious nonsense that really offer little if anything in terms of genuine substance.
Act Man released private messages he had with MaulEr. He had seemingly been trying to meditate things with Act over his criticisms of Az over his reaction to the pronouns in Starfield.
@@MegaSpideyman Ah ok! So we can add him with the others who won't show up on Efap anymore. We have had Doomer, Aiden, Chase, Act Man...probably missing some.
@@SebassieCould you explain Aydin and Chase? I've been rewatching a lot of old efaps lately, but not in chronological order, so i thought these guys are just chill guests who haven't been around for some time. Chase's story I'm especially interested in because he started showing up on Mauler's streams ages ago and i thought they were close buds
@@komrade2341 From what I gathered Aiden made some dumb 'pdf-file' comments, making her look pretty sus. Chase had several allegations against him; abuse, pfd file comments (again), and way more that made him look reaaaalllyy bad.
Movie reviews are what I look forward too. As soon as I heard about Night Country being reviewer by Reaper, I was excited to see him rip that show a new arsehole.
Not a surprise, really. To be perfectly honest, the movie isn't _that_ good; it's just decent. The meta back-and-forth around it was wacky. The theater-sabotage stories didn't help the defenders' case sound less conspiracy-brained; and Hollywood's immediate well-poisoning didn't help their case either. Drinker's "I thought it was alright; I really don't get what the big deal is" is the reasonable take on it. The movie fucks up its depiction and tone is my issue; if it was more down-to-Earth and low-energy like _Sicario_ style it would've served the subject better; the melodramatic energy the film has wasn't it. But anyone who calls the movie "dangerous" that's more of a self-report
@@samwallaceart288 I'm more interested in the subject matter , dumber films got noms in the past. The film is trying to raise awareness on human trafficking, kind of an important issue in my humble opinion. And a true story.
@@357majmun Yeah that's the hypocrisy; Oscars really picks and chooses their causes to champion; snubbing that one because they don't like the subject says more about them than it does the movie
On the topic of Confused Matthew, check out his review of Guardians of the Galaxy. I don't know if he reviewed Avengers 1, but I know he thought both movies were shit, while also thinking Suicide Squad (the first one) was good character work... The main criticism of Guardians, if I remember right, was that Gunn got 2 razzie awards prior to it. Might make for a good EFAP.
Go back to open bar with just drinker and mauler and one occasional guest. Shows lately are too crowded and reperitive, but last orders are always fun and fresh.

I do kind of agree that 2001 Space Odyssey is kinda pointless and or about nothing (did the monolith also create Seinfeld) with it relying mostly on visuals. However the sequel Space Odyssey 2010 is actually objectively a good movie with a story that makes sense. It's not as dreamy and weird as the original yet it still has a lot of bizarre elements of the first movie. It's def worth checking out.
In regards to about 15 minutes in: Drinker and Mauler If you want to see a women building/making things - voluptuous red head woman making swords, a viking longship, and other items on this channel: www.youtube.com/@ThePathOfFire
The Act Man leaked his direct Messages with Mauler. These messages were basically about The Act Man and Heelvsbabyface potentially having a conversation about their viewpoints on Starfields whole pronoun thing. This ended up not happening due to some issues between them both. The issue went away but recently resurfaced during the whole Sweet Baby Inc. situation. I’d recommend watching Heelvsbabyface’s video about the situation since he sums up what happened pretty well. Act Man has yet to respond on RU-vid but idk if he has responded on other platforms. Mauler was simply a mediator or middle man to bridge the gap between these two but pretty much got hit in the crossfire between Az and Act Man’s beef.
I mean, I could be wrong but mauler makes it a point to answer every super chat on efap so I would think he would ask that the same be enacted on any show he’s a part of… …unless your super was offensive somehow or could get them banned by speaking it aloud? I’m just spitballing here…
They used to, but so many superchats would come in that they'd have to do catchups for the catchup. So they stopped livestreaming the catchups, choosing less income so they can more efficiently answer all the superchats 😊
Abby will come full-circle, transition and start calling "himself" Joel, with the catch-phrase 'Pajama Man'. Abandon hope for the Fallout show. The two showrunners (Nolan and Joy) are the ones that took over Westworld in S2 and ran it into the ground with their intersectional feminism instead of the amazing writing from S1. The show appears to have a tiny girl boss that will probably be an action star throwing Deathclaws around by the end of the first season (or episode). Nolan actually said that he is not bothering to try and please the fans with this show, just himself. Probably all over his own face.
34:32 I think RDJ recently did a movie where he was race swapped to Mexican. I think the entire cast was race swapped and Jamie Todd was playing a white guy. If I remember right, the film was canned never to be released by the studio.
During the livestream a bunch of his orbiters were raiding the chat saying variations of "Synthetic Man was right" since he was streaming at the same time. They were convinced his shallow critiques of the game have been vindicated because of the SBI situation.
Act man posted private dm’s of him and mauler without asking mauler to try to drag AZ. Instead it makes Act man look like a shit head who just farms content.
49:35 yeah, thats where the problem lies. I d bet that either Angrboda or Hildsvini, maybe even both, were not black at some point of development. Maybe bit less with Angrboda, since her gran is a literal Voodoo woman, but on the othe hand, the whole section feels kinda... inserted? Like, it doesnt really belong? So if they were involved early enough, it actually goes the other way, making it more likely. And thats where the poison is. Before knowing SBI is involved i wouldnt think twice about it. Now? I wonder. Was the long unskippable walk in Giant world paced so bad cos writers messed up, or because diversity quotas had to give a black girl a certain amount of screentime?
On the Demon Slayer movie super chat. I hate the anime movies that RECAP the previous season and then give you ten minutes of original material. My gf dragged me to see that movie and it was a total waste of time. If it flew under the radar it was deservedly so. Mugen train deserved your attention, not that movie and the previous one, which had the same gimmick.
49:37 Pointing out SBI is more important than singing the game's praises. This is a culture war. I look forward to playing the game but i will NOT BE PAYING for it and i won't be recommending it to anyone unless i know they WON'T BE PAYING for it either.
Regarding good/well-written child and female characters, I think Aubree Miller as Cindel from Ewoks The Battle For Endor(1985) and Tina Majorino as Enola from Waterworld(1995) are fantastic. They’re likable, charming, polite to others and courageous in dark/serious situations. Anyone agree?
Dune 2 destroyed the character of Channi at the end . The stroppy storm out was pathetic . Over all its a middling adaptation with great visuals . I wonder how many raving about it actually read the book .
