Well, there's really no player who blamed their teammates on air. It's the viewers and these "sports analysts" who put words on the players' mouth. For all these people who say LeBron blamed his teammates, show me a video of him saying that to the media. None. You might see him getting frustrated, walking of, yelling, but all other players do so. MJ and Kobe did so as well as other superstar players.
@DrHDoofenshmirtzphd
@DrHDoofenshmirtzphd 2 года назад
@@afa1216 I think people misunderstand blaming teammates for blaming management. When they say especially back in the day they didn't have help or they needed more help that falls on management to make the right trades and draft picks to get them that help. More and more today that isn't the case as players are actively seeking out that help like LeBron going around from team to team. I mean at this point saying you don't have help when you go from team to team...makes little sense because you chose that team and by extension that management.

Jordan had 41ppg in the finals that year, IN THE 90s. Almost nothing you can do about that. Charles is unfortunate in that the NBA format of franchise players and salary caps mean top tier players are often left without a ring if they end up with trash on their team, or they happen to be playing at the same time as a generational talent and/or super team. It’s the reason so many greats don’t have a ring, yet random no names for the Celtics have like 5-6.

What really sucks for Charles Barkley is that he never got a second chance in the NBA Finals--unlike Ewing, Malone and Stockton who each never won a championship but made it to the Finals multiple times. I suppose it sucks to lose in the Finals more than once than just once. But in Charles's case, knowing that he never made it back to the Finals in his career as a NBA player was a one-and-done deal on his end. Plus, after leading your team to the best record in the league, having homecourt advantage throughout the entire playoffs, being the league's Most Valuable Player, but only to lose it all in six games in the Finals and never win once on your homecourt during that entire series will forever hurt like hell. But never winning a championship will never ever tarnish Charles's legacy. He's a great player and human being on and off the court.

At 7:07 Charles made the right basketball play as he said. This guy Kevin Johnson passed up an open shot twice. Thats how you know your team is about to lose. A bunch of weak players and 1 guy doing it all. On the other hand it was Paxon and not MJ or Pippen who ended the game.

Those weak players were winning 50 games without Barkley. The Suns even made a couple Conference Finals. Jordan was the only Bull to score in the 4th quarter until Paxson hit the 3-ball

The most hardest thing in team sports must be " trust your teamates ". Charles probobly could score over 30 points a night if he wanted to and Jordan over 37 points a night, but do they win with that strategy. They know they could score all those points, but must give it up to someone else. That most be hard, because you know what you can do

If you think about it Charles lost to the same people Shaq lost to. Charles lost to Jordan and Olajuwon, Shaq lost to both as well and got swept by both.

Charles also played with an elbow so hurt, that they had to drain fluids from it during the finals. Had a monster game (42 points) in Game 2, and couldn't replicate that scoring since hurting the elbow (and did score 35 one game). But I've never ONCE heard it as an excuse from Chuck. It was Horace Grant himself that said it (when asked who was the toughest he's guarded). What a great man, Me. Barkley.

I haven’t watched a crazy amount of open court but this is the most quiet and deep I’ve ever seen it. One joke in the beginning but then it’s just Chuck and Ernie, and everyone else just listening.

Soooo I watched Chicago night in night out... but I was amazed by Charles. People don't u derstand how great a player he was. When he understands michael is just God... you weren't gonna get him. It's traumatic. The way he describes that horris and pippen trap and mind you it was masterful call... "when his back is to the basket trap... it was masterful but his review of it is unbelievable and he's right he made the right play but so did the bulls and you have to live with that.

"You can try too hard and make things worse"... That sums up game 6 when Barkley went for a steal on the last possession of the Bulls. Completely screwed up their rotation and leaving Paxson for an open 3. The rest is history.

Could you have done more? This is what an MVP and almost NBA champion have to ask himself, always trying to find a solution. But we'll never know for sure. I think Chuck did everything he in that game 6. Maybe if the Suns hadn't lose games 1 and 2, the story would have been different.

Being a Phoenix Suns fan at the time man that ball took 45 min to go through the net that night when Paxon shot it.....That hurt. But listening to Charles be candid and raw and with Shaq sitting there, you wonder why that guy doesn't take a little more decorum about Chuck when always goes to the "Google my Rings" argument man. Like that shit hurt then in 1993 and I was at home...Chuck lived that. Another thing about that night, I passed up the chance to go see Jurassic Park cause I wanted to stay and watch the Suns get a win and force a game 7. And in all honesty I actually thought the Bulls were done cause Phoenix had all the momentum. If anyone was around that era, you know how hard it was to win in Chicago, let alone take 2 outta 3.

That’s why Jordan and Kobe were so different, they knew when to take over. As much as they trusted their teammates they knew the only way to win is to dominate the ball. When that killer instinct takes over watch out.

I (a total bum 😂😂) couldn’t imagine what it’s like to be at that level is a huge sport an MVP maybe I’m the best player in the world at the time type level and sort of admit or it kinda hit you like maybe you won’t win this and the reason is because my team has me and the other team has this other guy. That’s gotta be tough I couldn’t imagine.
