I have always been a great walker but the last few years I was unable to walk without getting out of breath. I am almost 2 weeks post surgery and I feel good but I need to get past that 6 week mark to drive and gain more independence. Thanks for you r videos.
Love the videos. I had open heart surgery on September 17 2018. I had seven arteries bypassed. I'm still home recovering. Going back to work in 2 weeks. I ride a motorcycle and missed some good riding days. But I'm still here and I will be ready in 2019! My name is Timmy B.
Thank's so much for your videos. I have another cardiology checkup in 3 months time. What my doctor said is that I will need aortic valve replacement surgery sooner than later. I had aortic valve stenosis (narrowing of the aortic opening) surgery when I was about 1.5 years old. We knew I would need more surgery but thought it may not be until I was in my 30s or even 50s. I am 24 now. Nervous as all hell. I have started cycling recently and will miss my bike greatly. Really appreciate your videos, they have given me a lot of comfort in what I may be facing soon. Take care!
Wow, man. You've been through a lot. Best of luck to you. I'm sure you'll get through it and be back to biking quickly. I will say a prayer for you. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes and which type of valve you decide on.
Hey thanks for the reply. I've been going through your videos for a second time, very reassuring. I had my second doctor's appointment last Tuesday and we have decided to get the valve replaced over winter break. I had my CT scan yesterday and have a heart catheter procedure on Thursday. We decided to go with the mechanical valve but have not decided which one specifically. Again thanks for your videos and I'll keep ya updated!
Great videos. I had my Aortic Valve replaced almost 8 weeks ago. I'm getting stronger each day. I too ride motorcycles and am looking forward to getting back on my bike. I have a big 1000 lbs touring bike, and the doctor would really like me to wait 3 months before getting on the bike again. That should be in time for Labor Day weekend... A weekend that I have traditionally gone on a couple day trip with my wife and my brother and his wife. One other thing I'm looking forward to getting back to is drumming. I play drums in a big band and a jazz combo. Can't wait to play again. I've been playing a little at home, and after a few tunes, I'm feeling a little worn out. The thing I think I'm going to have the most issue with is loading my drums in and out of my car. My main trap case is probably 50 lbs. For the next couple months I might need some help with that. Again, thanks for the videos. I watched them before my surgery and they helped.
Glad to hear things went well. You will be lifting those heavy drums and riding your scooter soon I'm sure of it :). I traded this bike in for the Harley ultra classic soon after filming this video. And the 900lbs was difficult to handle at 3 months. Not impossible. I just had to be extra careful and take my time especially moving it backwards. It's been 5 months now for me since surgery. I'm pretty much doing everything I was able to do before. Still have shoulder and sternum pain especially in the morning after sleeping. It's bone and muscle pain from being split open. Thanks for commenting. Best of luck friend.
I’m about to have open heart surgery in about 3 weeks or so. I’m going to miss bowling. How long did it take you to get yourself back together where you can actually do something
@@gilbertwest70 everyone is different. I was able to take 8 weeks recovery time from work. I was riding my motorcycle about the 8 week mark. Just needed to be careful about lifting heavy weight and had to take my time. You'll do great
