Heroes and villains of DC Comics square off in the two-part, live-action, made-for-TV (with a laugh track!) smackdowns of Legends of the Super Heroes.
The Challenge: Batman and Robin (Adam West and Burt Ward of the live-action Batman TV series) lead The Flash, Green Lantern and more JLA members against The Riddler (Frank Gorshin reprising his TV role), Mordru, Weather Wizard and other Doom-dealers. The Legion’s ultimate gambit: trick the heroes into downing a diabolical depowering drink!
Also included is the Roast hosted by Ed McMahon who emcees a rowdy rave-up. Who knew DC Super Heroes and villains packed as much verbal wit as physical grit when not locked in mortal combat? These Legends will leave you laughing.

Jack Brewer and Jason Marsden in the tv movie (Return to the Batcave) had a lot of aesthetic resemblance to West and Ward; It would have been nice if, in addition to this film, they had also produced a revival TV series of Batman, with the two of them playing Batman and Robin, while West and Ward could have respectively played Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson seniors, however in function only of presenters for the adventures running; Basically, like Hitchcock did for his anthological TV series! The hypothetical TV series could have been titled "BATMAN: ADVENTURES NEVER TOLD"

@@BryonYoungblood DC used the tag line "The Original Captain Marvel" on the first 14 covers of Shazam! until they changed it to "The World's Mightiest Mortal" beginning with issue #15.

Mar-Vell and Rick Jones were Captain Marvel in between Billy Batson and Carol Danvers. Carol was the original Ms. Marvel until Mar-Vell died from Cancer.

I would LOVE to see this done as a Serious TV Series. ALL of the Main Heroes in Their Retro Costumes(rubber muscle suits). JLA vs LOD with todays effects would be Awesome!👍🏾

Especially cute as West and Ward reprized their iconic Batman and Robin roles. However, if I am allowed to express my personal opinion in this regard, it would have been much more enjoyable if it had been developed as a live action TV series "like the Batman TV series was, but in this case with Super Friends" instead of setting it up as a children's show.

It wasn't set up as a children's show. It was set up in the format of the live-action variety show which was popular in the 70s. Whether it was Carol Burnett and friends, the Donny & Marie show, The Muppet Show when this case Legends of the Superheroes. That's why they made it as if there was a live audience reacting. However, I do agree that they should have formatted it more like the Batman TV series of the 60s except in this case Super Friends.

They were occupied at the time. (In reality, they didn't do Superman because they didn't want to compete with the Christopher Reeve movie still in theaters at the time, and likewise with Wonder Woman because of the TV show with Lynda Carter)

@@minekurtmininer216 Agreed. I don't know, it's like DC didn't want over-exposure for their characters or self-competition or something, but it would have been amazing! Same thing happened with why Batman (and JLA characters) couldn't appear on the Teen Titans cartoon. It would have been awesome if Lynda Carter, and maybe even Christopher Reeve, were included. But, knowing Hanna Barbera, they probably would have had to lower the rest of the budget to compensate, or maybe even cut other heroes. I'm glad we got all the heroes we did! I don't know if there'll ever be another live-action Hawkman or Black Canary or Dr. Sivana.
