Mike covers a song he originally performed on from the Ayreon album The Theory of Everything. For more clips and full episodes check out the RU-vid channel!
Mike Mills and Anneke van Giersbergen are the only two singers who could make me melt regardless of what they were singing. It could be a song I hate, a children's nursery rhyme, happy birthday to you, I would be weak kneed and pathetically grateful. Mike is a real legend!
I didn't know about Ayreon in any capacity until RU-vid suggested this video today. After watching this, I opened Spotify to check out this album, and I am blown the fuck away. As a huge science/sci-fi nerd who also loves epic rock/metal operas and concept albums, this album was a truly amazing find. Your performance was epic, as expected!
I hope you went on to check the other albums too, there's a lot of sci-fi throughout most of them and all of them are epic! Toehider tackles this theme too sometimes, like in "No, Not You... YOU"
Im sorry to be the one to point it out, but this video conclusively proves that our dear Michael is in fact a machine. An advanced tone generator of sorts sent to us from the future. This naturally after they successfully mated DNA from Freddie Mercury and Frank Zappa to grow this hybrid musical tone drone. The purpose of his mission is as of yet still unknown, but so is what lies beneath his hat. The problem is that they put the setting on Mike to 11, so he now shamelessly smash it out on a regular basis. How this will in time change the face of music as we know it is uncertain, but in the mean while we pray that he uses his powers for good. May a doG be with us
Thank you especially for this one. The Theory of Everything was the path that led me to your brilliance, and I've been enjoying your incredible voice ever since.
5 years and nobody has mentioned the shirt. The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything. Also the number of tracks on the album.
This guy is awesome...A vocal genius. Glad I have discovered him through Ayreon. I am diving in to Toehider, and I am really enjoying how much different the music is than most other prog bands.. Love it....
Perfection. This dexterity on the guitar and how he managed to reproduce the Electric part plus the piano bit... Not to mention this golden voice, obviously. Mike foreva 🖖
Fantastic Mike. You were just brilliant in Tilburg last weekend. You and Hansi really made this a show to remember. Fantastic consert. Already waiting for the DVD to come out.
I don't want to sound like a simple fanboy or anything, but I just want you to know that your role and performance (alongside the other vocalists and musicians) on the Theory of Everything moved me more than I can put into words. The album meant more to me than I can explain, and you were such an integral part of it. Thank you.
Thank you so mutch... This made my day go from mehh.. To crying and feeling like im so lucky! You are freaking amazing. This is from my fav Ayreon album, and I would love for you to do more of it 😍
This is an excellent piece of music performed by an excellent musician. Very well done (excepting and forgiving a few adorable live mistakes of course ;-)
my god, you're very very amazing , you're an inspiration for me ( a left handed guitarist too lol) , I will be very happy if you could work on a new metal project like Ayreon or Avantasia for exemple. That's can be tremendous!!! ( sorry for my english i'm french ).
Wow, so good! Truly the brightest shining star (excluding Arjen I suppose) from that incredible album, which is really saying something. ps: The answer is *blindingly* near. Get it right, man. :)
Mike did an amazing job on the Theory of everything. Really brought some kick ass singing to the mix. Thats how I noticed Toehider and it rearranged my perception of our musical future, for the better.
Hi Mike, I am yet another who learned of you through Ayreon. Love your voice.Neat bit of guitar here too. Thanks for contributing to my enjoyment of music. :)
So a-frikkin-mazing. Awesome job! My dear friend Peta just introduced me to a girl from NYC. Bebe Rexha. Multi-instrumentalist, too. She plays guitar, piano and trumpet. Now, that you have some experience with collaborations that bridge continents, here is one example of what she does: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zDo0H8Fm7d0.html (I'd like to hear what she does, playing trumpet. Just curious.)
