The original route layout at Shibuya station before connects with Fukutoshin Line. Before Fukutoshin Line, the Toyoko Line makes it's through connection with Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line at Naka-Meguro station. This through connection has been discontinued when the Toyoko Line connects to Fukutoshin Line to prevent bottleneck traffic with Hibiya Line trains, which also include Tobu trains from Isesaki Line, since the Fukutoshin Line trains also have Tobu trains from Tojo Line and Seibu trains from Ikebukuro Line.
