For the people interested, if you still need N of the items (not including the ones being bought in the Underground), you can expect to still have to open roughly 68 * H(N) chests. Here, H(N) = 1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + ... + 1/N is the N-th harmonic number, which for large values of N can be reasonably approximated by ln(N) + 0.6, where ln(N) denotes the natural logarithm of N. This is actually a special instance of the so-called coupon collector problem, which has a special Wikipedia page. In this instance, needing 14 items, you would expect needing roughly 68 * H(14) ≈ 221 chests.
Ah, I feel your pain with getting those last makeshift items although you're getting really close now after all this!! I've been playing since the game released from closed beta and am in a similar boat - I think I've got about 5 or 6 more to go! Wish there was some way to trade items with other players as I've got so many of the same that I don't have a use for. Anyway, sending lots of positive vibes that you'll collect everything soon enough. Cheers! :)
I would love some type of trading system for hard to get furniture! Wishing you the best of luck finishing up your set! Hopefully it doesn’t take you 101 more chests 😅😅
The near rage I feel every time I open one and still don't get the makeshift indoor planter I'm dying to get lol Or my 5th dupe of something instead of the planter lol
