Greeting from France! I've started collecting NHL cards, and I have absolutely no knowledge about it. Today, I acquired an Upper Deck box from the 93/94 Series One. I was wondering, do you think this box you're presenting is worth buying?:( 1990 Score NHL Hockey cards) I'm asking because it's easier for me to understand you in writing than orally. Thank you in advance, and God bless you, great video.
Hi! 1990 is a fun set to open due to the amount of amazing rookies! If you can get it cheap I would recommend it. The only thing is this set is so over-produced so don't expect the value to increase anytime soon.
@@mjl4563 That's absolutely not a problem for me; I never resell the cards. I buy sports cards simply because I love them. In fact, I don't understand how the card market works. Do sports cards really sell? Or do people struggle to sell them? I can't imagine people buying cards for over $100, just for a single card.
Jiomir Jagr rookie card in that series as well. I bought a box of these and got Jagr,Lindros and two Breodeau. I loved this series of hockey cards. Very envious of Mats Sundin very nice find.
I remember buying these when first came out. Was really in awe considering the lower quality from propriety Topps in the previous years. The card that really lit up the set IMO was the Gretzky. Of course because who he is / was, but also because of the more action shot, and more importantly that he previously had seemingly no cards showing him in his white jersey (most Topps card photos were taken in northeast arenas). A little surprised the Brodeur RC (his only issue) hasn't caught the same fanfare / value as Barry Sanders in the previous year's Score NFL, given that he ended up being arguably the top-5 goalie all time. Maybe there were just too many produced, or that hockey not as popular as football. (At the time, the 'chase card' was the Eric Lindros RC, who was supposed to be the next Gretzky or Lemieux.) These were normally sold for 50¢ per pack / $15 per box including tax here in the US (Canadian version was also pretty easy to find here and at about the same price if not a tiny bit higher).
