Update correction!!! The batteries WERE dead. The reason you see the green light is because I did manage to open the safe, prior to this demonstration, and replaced the batteries. The button display is broken.
I tried that too. The solenoid was jammed and Impossible to shake loose. I had the key and the combo and it wouldn't open. I now have a hunk of scrap metal that took two hours to open with pry bars and Not enough money to buy a replacement. Back to hiding my valuables in odd places. The next one will be a dial not a keypad.
You're right. I described the problem incorrectly. The batteries were dead. The touchpad, or control, is non-responsive despite it having brand new batteries. So... it's braindead.
