Really nice video these are a huge gamble from what I have seen a decent amount of people have gotten either one Morgan silver dollar or one Purple Heart coin along with a silver eagle and either a quarter ounce platinum eagle or a quarter ounce gold eagle

Thanks for watching. Ya, definitely a gamble but you get some fun out of it and no matter if you win or lose you're left with 3 coins. So, as far as gambles go, it's not the riskiest.

I paid $329 for an NGC MS69 1/10th ounce AGE from 1986 that I picked up recently to pair with a dvd set of the 1986 World Series as a gift for my brother. I will say that these early gold eagles are much more attractive than the uncirculated ones released by the Mint today. I also like the Roman numerals.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting to watch. I got my 2021 New Orleans Morgan from the mint for $85 and got it graded in MS70. The ASE might be $50. The 1/10 oz is worth about $375. It seems like everybody pulls about 4 to $500 worth of value out of these $765 after shipping, boxes. The good part is you can sell it back and only be out the difference but you’re still out. Just a gamble and I don’t blame anyone for trying. Have watched a lot of these unboxings and mostly have been happy to not participate. Most of the coins I’ve seen pulled I already own.

Ya, it is gambling with a bit of excitement as part of the price. For the retail price of $739, I feel like it's not a horrible gamble. However I've seen many people buy these boxes on WhatNot up to $1500, and at that price point, it's certainly harder to make a case for. I do hope in Series 3 they'll add more variety of coins.
@SilverChaser22

Awesome video man, I love these Vault Box videos. The original retail isn't all that bad, I believe like $750. Most people do seem to pull around $500 worth. Series three should have a larger variety of coins. I just started making videos and I hope to land a series three box when they come out. Thank you for sharing, and you have gained yourself a new subscriber!

@petesquarterlifecrisis887
@petesquarterlifecrisis887 Год назад
It is certainly gambling, but you still end up with 3 coins of value in the end. Could I have gotten more value if I bought coins I picked out by hand? Yep. But this was fun. Would I do it again? Not sure, maybe. They expanded the coin selection from series 1, I'd like to see them add even more coins, including historic coins for series 3.

Not worth it, doomed to cease to exist. The xtra money would have bought stuff I have been wanting. Good for them when they have a bunch of slow movers or 69s they need to move. How come you didn't tell us the buyback or values? (and loses) Or was I bored and missed it?

They had to add in that whole "38 coin Silver Eagle Bounty" program, $7500 for first to sell them back a full ASE series (slabbed 9.9s), 2nd bounty claimed only pays $3500 (about what 38 slabbed MS69 (NGCX 9.9) ASEs is actually worth. I think that speaks a lot about the 'lack' of value within these boxes! I feel sorry for anyone that is actually trying to buy enough boxes to attempt to claim the first ASE Bounty prize. To get 38 ASEs the least you would have to purchase would be 13 boxes. The probability that anyone would get a full ASE set in 13 boxes would probably be in the 1 in a millions to billions. I don't even think you can do it in 13 boxes if Vaultbox says you get a Common, Uncommon, and Rare coin in each box. Actually makes it harder to assemble the ASE bounty. On top of Vaultbox requiring at least 15 coins coming from series 1, and 15 from series 2. So those Series 1 ASEs are going to be selling for $$$$ on ebay, as flippers know people are trying to collect a set to claim the Bounty! With a 2 box per person limit from Vaultbox, people will have to buy flipped boxes, or have coordinated many friends/family to purchase boxes on their behalf at the time of release. Most likely this would also require people to purchase highly marked up Vaultboxes on ebay, along with purchasing individual Vaultbox 9.9 ASEs of specific dates off ebay. Say someone was able to buy Six Series 1 boxes, and Seven Series 2 boxes all @ list price when they were released, and got all the ASEs they needed. That would be; $600 x 6 (series 1) = $3600, $740 x 7 (series 2) = $5180, Total spend = $8,780. First Vaultbox ASE bounty = $7500. So a $1280 loss claiming the first bounty with vaultbox (if you got all the coins/boxes at list price, which certainly is not going to be the case). But I imagine it would end up costing someone at least 1.5x the price ($14k) to be able assemble coins for that first bounty through List price box purchases, Flipped box purchases, and flipped vaultbox slab coins. And that would be a $7500 loss. Imagine if you assembled the ASE set only to learn that someone claimed the first bounty hours/days before you, and not you only get the 2nd bounty of $3500. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ronaldsmith2343
@ronaldsmith2343 Год назад
@@SolemnStacker OUCH all the way around... A purchase with those kinda numbers at a show or LCS would probably be way more huge.
@SolemnStacker
@SolemnStacker Год назад
I feel sorry for anyone that is actually trying to buy enough boxes to attempt to claim the first ASE "38 coin set" Bounty prize, $7500 for first to sell back to Vaultbox, $3500 for second (minimum of 15 ASEs have to be from Series 1, and 15 from Series 2). Getting 38 ASEs would require a minimum of 13 Vaultboxes. But the likelihood you received all necessary ASEs would probably be in the 1 in a million/billions. And if Vaultbox comes with a guaranteed "Common, Uncommon, and Rare Value coin" in each box, it makes it even more difficult to collect all the required ASE 9.9s. If you could potentially get all Commons (ASE 9.9s) in a single vaultbox, at a minimum you'd have to buy Six Series 1 boxes, and Seven Series 2 boxes (or vice versa) all @ list price when they were released, and those included all the various year ASEs needed. That would be; $600 x 6 (series 1) = $3600, $740 x 7 (series 2) = $5180, Total spend = $8,780. First Vaultbox ASE bounty = $7500. $1280 loss would be the absolute BEST CASE SCENARIO, which is impossible. With only 1 Common coin in each box, you'd have to buy a Minimum mix of at least 38 total boxes from both Series. Say, $600 x 19 (series 1) = $11,400, $740 x 19 = $14,060 = $25,460. -$25,460 + $7500 = -$17,960 LOSS!!!!!!!!! Imagine if you assembled the ASE set only to learn that someone claimed the first bounty hours/days before you, and you only get the 2nd bounty prize of $3500. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Realistically people are going to be buying the Vaultbox 9.9 ASE years they need on ebay at a highly inflated price from what a MS69 ASE sells for, as flippers know people are only buying the vaultbox ASEs to try and hit that bounty. No way would I ever buy a Vaultbox. Gambling is not good, and the House always wins. Flippers that are just upselling unopened boxes will make good money, however the people flipping their ASEs definitely won't recoup the full value of their boxes, but it would certainly reduce their Loss. With no "Serial #s" on the boxes, Vaultbox could easily say they sold out and then throw up a few dozen boxes on ebay under various accounts at 2x the price. They knew the random unserialized boxes and amount of flipping going on would make it impossible for anyone to know the true Inventory in the boxes. NGC boxes them, so that is even more alibi for Vaultbox to claim ignorance of any malfeasance.
@petesquarterlifecrisis887
@petesquarterlifecrisis887 Год назад
It's not really possible to buy enough boxes to complete the set, you'll need to get them from ebay and other sources. The most a single customer could buy was 2 boxes at release, and it sold out in a few minutes.

You might be naive thinking there is no funny business when it comes to distribution of rare coins. I believe this 10 point grading scale is only available to big customers.
@petesquarterlifecrisis887
@petesquarterlifecrisis887 Год назад
I guess there is no way to 100% be assured no funny business is going on. But having a trusted company like NGC, who deals with very expensive coins on a daily basis, as the company that packages the vault boxes definitely gives more assuredness the boxes are fair, more so than just a random new company as if vaultbox themselves did.

What a scam.....can't believe people actually play this losing game, if you spent 750 bucks at any LCS you'd get a much better deal! I guess there is a suckered born every minute......😔
@petesquarterlifecrisis887
@petesquarterlifecrisis887 Год назад
It's gambling and not for everyone, but it's not a scam. It's similar to opening a pack of baseball cards, but in this case you end up with actual precious metal. I paid $739 for the box. The overall value of the coins I got is somewhere around $560, with their instant offer at $478 to buy the coins back from me. So my box, I lost some money but plenty of boxes you'll get more than what you paid. With the big hits being up to a $30k box. Which is obviously very unlikely. It's not for everyone, as it is a gamble - as long as you know that ahead of time you aren't getting "suckered".
@viperviperpiro

this is a gimmick... i rather spend my $750 on other form of silver and gold coins or smaller bars rather than these crap NGC X gimmicks. Waste of money in my opinion...
@petesquarterlifecrisis887
@petesquarterlifecrisis887 Год назад
Certainly not for everyone, it's gambling. But that's why Vegas is popular, gambling can be fun and entertaining. The value of the coins I got was around $500, and I paid $735, so I lost but had fun. Around 1 in 10 boxes exceed that price when you get a red core hit and 1 box has 3-red core hits worth 30k, and a few others over 10k. It's that chance at the big hit that is appealing, and the downside is not too bad, I still have 3 nice coins from it.
