"Getting 12 points from your neightbor is a sure way to get your song disgraced, but if Sweden gets 12 points from Norway, it's clearly just good taste." Nailed it.
True, they only got 7 points from the Norwegian televotes, which is quite shocking, BUT 12 points from the Danish & Icelandic televotes and 12 points from the Finnish jury. Sweden on the other hand blessed Australia with 24 points. The nordic friendship is getting kinda rusty, isn't it?
@@SuAva no thanks, it costs way too much for us here in sweden. 2013 and 2016 made that our state television needed to drop for example the olympics and much more
Clearly you haven't heard Julia Zimero and Sam (I forget his last name) commentate. They were the best, but they've been replaced now which is really sad for all the Australians
@@AbbyMaskell No, I haven't heard them not any other but Norton and the Spanish commentator (who sadly passed away some years ago). It would be awesome if they did some kind of special show with all commentators so we can discover how the other countries watch the contest hahaha
"But when Sweden gets 12 points from Norway it's clearly just good taste" I'm actually not gonna talk against that, cause when we give Sweden 12 points it's normally a really good song ~yes, I'm Norwegian
Honestly, despite the "neighbours voting for each other" thing, usually the best song wins if not too much politics blends into the whole event. Sweden just tends to sent the best musicians.
I think it has to do with people having similar music taste with their neighbours, so they vite for that, and the fact they are neighbour also helps a bit, but mostly people having common music tastes.
@@ellenm8711 It's a nice story, but utterly false. Almost the entire show is synced to timecode and click track. Impossible for one audio track from a multitrack to 'corrupt' whilst the rest of the tracks were ok, the lighting and camera switching all worked without problems...
So True Marilena - Sweden's and Norway's composers just know how to write damn good music, plus they are simply amazing in hosting! :) Everybody who enjoys this should also take a look at the Tony's Awards Opening Numbers by NPH!! 😍(I guess the writers of this song also took them as an inspiration for this number)
@@fredericbernard4309 I thought that nobody ever will get even close to NPH Tony's openings, but I was wrong. This is a whole different level of awesomeness.
i so want the musicle broadway too - it feels professional, it's screaming music, it makes everything warm and cosy i know... blame me for trying to copy Sweden, go ahead >.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! Only the Swedes know how to do this...and get away with it! Long live Eurovision, Melodifestivalen and all pray to goddess Lynda Woodruff...a massive UK fan, puts our efforts to shame!!
There is a reason why the international press-corps applauded after the final, ESC that year was as good as a Hollywood production. Sweden knows how make ESC spectacular.
Did y'all know Petra was a ballerina, but hurt hur back just buy twisting her muscles wrong. So she couldn't continue her dancing carer. And she lives with chronically pain. But she's fucking awesome cuase now she's an aaamazing tv icon instead. And she does that *while* having chronical pain. She's literally such an inspiration.
[Måns]: Well, it's a multinational competition With a collaborative mission So much like the Olympics in a way [Petra]: Sure, it's rather less athletic [Måns]: Though just as energetic [Petra]: More colorful, and what's the word? [Måns (spoken)]: Theatrical? [Petra]: We make music and friends with every nation [Both]: And bankrupt the hosting TV station [Måns]: To help to shore up a post-war Europe, in 1956, it all began [Petra]: The set, I'm rather certain, was nothing but a curtain There were only seven countries and one camera-man [Måns]: But then it started growing now Australia's ours! [Petra]: We're a big black hole sucking in all the stars! [Both]: We'll take over the world and then conquer Mars! That's Eurovision! The singers come together like songbirds of a feather For victory they hope and pray and beg [Måns]: Wait there in the green room, an often rather mean room, wishing all of our competitors break a leg [Petra]: The impact of the show I cannot overstate [Måns]: No matter where you go, it's a source of debate [All]: But it's something you either love or hate That's Eurovision! Can't Mans and Petra host the 2023 ESC please??? First time I watched the WHOLE competition and actually have watched all Mans and Petras acts time and time again. Brilliant host...super talented.
Just to be straight with you, Lisa. If our state financed Public Service Network didn't put on this show every year , we'd committed collective suicide in about 1977, I guess.
Well, funny you should ask... Because here is what they had to say about it in Eurovision 2016: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-no1v1-2HZ6g.html
Psch! Have you seen any auditions from swedish Idol? It's crazy! I'm beginning to suspect everyone there was born with a lovely voice and a guitar in hand. 😂 It's almost ridiculous how good some of them are! My favourite is _definitely_ Jay Smith doing "Black Jesus". *_What. A. Voice._*
Music_Lover 101 The nationality doesn't matter, it's the education that makes a difference. I for one, am also Lithuanian, yet I speak English better than Lithuanian.
I know everyone loves Love, Love, Peace, Peace, but I honestly think this is the superior interval act. It's just so much fun and well made. And the stage graphics look unreal! It's so crisp that it looks fake, incredible
Haha Måns is so lost at the riverdance. Love the whole performance though, feel it fell under the shadow under Love Love Peace Peace a bit, but it's so great. Edward af Sillen who wrote all scripts and songs deserves a lot of praise, apart from Petra and Måns of course.
Omg how? they are gods! so much text , dancing, singing just too much for a human being to do perfect as they did , how many times did they rehearsed it , damn thats some Commitment and love to the job makes every eurovision fan proud, love you all guys!
At the end Mans should ask Petra "What we're gonna do next year Petra?" And she answers "The same thing we do every year. Try to take over the world... with EUROVISION!"
Too awesome to stop watching regularly. They nailed it, and then when they had, they drop the Eurovision fanfare at 4:03. Big praise to the writers and that trumpeter!
@@etoinedevries7583 the Netherlands did a great job also because organizing the contest with all the COVID precautions was a lot harder. I mean, that was the biggest event in Europe since the start of the pandemic and it was great.
“Music is the language we all know how to speak”. This is so true I’ve been binge watching the voice global and I may not know the words they are saying I understand. ❤️❤️😻
Eurovision the musical only can be made for one of the most musical countries. And Sweden did it GREAT! There's no doubt Sweden is one of the best grounds where Eurovision can stand. They love it big time!
I loved that when they were saying all languages they mentioned catalan, even before than spanish😊 I'm catalan by the way, but I think it's quite obvious isn't it? 😅
