I have watched all of these opening decades old food videos and this one by FAR was the nastiest content inside one of these cans. My anxiety level as that can opener was struggling was through the roof lol WHY AM I SO ENTERTAINED BY THIS!?!?
Wow, those eggs just gave up on being eggs and dissolved into a nasty liquid/paste. I didn’t know that a food, especially a protein-based one, could just stop being a solid at some point.
We used to have one of them that was the same or similar model to that one. They work great and last for a long time. After moving a couple of times I can't find it :(
This was the scariest "opening" I have seen you do thus far. Almost gave me dry heaves, I definitely was gagging, was very effective and I love your channel.
I bet you are feeling smugly superior to grandpa and his foolish generation which used LEAD in food containers!!🤣 But, here's the twist... The estrogenic plastic liners in your cans, and other hormone -disrupting chemicals in your food, anti-nutrients in your plant based diet etc, virtually ensures that in 50 years you won't have grandchildren having a laugh at your food storage choices... Because your hormone changed mean you, and the rest of the present generation, will likely never reproduce.
This reminded me of when I worked for a grocery store corporate office. One day I had an older woman call in, and she said she opened an old can of tuna fish, and if it was okay if she just ate around the crusty bits. I advised her that it probably wasn't a good idea LOL 🤢
Out of curiosity, have you ever considered retrobriting your can opener? It's basically the process of brightening yellowed plastic to restore it's original color. Might be something neat for a video on the old restoration playlist!
@@Kdizzy I think he would vomit in his mouth and it would probably end up projectile vomiting at the smell of that shit being cooked and permeating his house! Lol.
@@Kdizzy Let me guess; would you want him to scramble in his internal mouth vomit and projectile vomit in with the eons old quail eggs and then eat that? HAHAH!! 😂😂😂
God as a chef , i have seen so many rolands brand because their product is quite nice and great quality, to see the age and how their signature logo hasn't changed much is amazing .
Just when I needed something to cheer me up, my man goes and opens up a can of quail eggs as old as my damn parents lmao 😂 you know something's wrong when your eggs smell like fish 🥚🐟 that little cleanup montage at the end too haha never change fam 👍
It's 4 in the morning here in Italy and I was thinking about getting up for breakfast. I might be reconsidering after watching this lol. By the way I love the can opener. Greetings from Italy.
Excellent video, I have been watching a few of your videos an it's like a window to the past. I expected a rotten egg sulphur type smell with eggs an the liquid to be black. The food is slightly different in America to what we have or I should say had in England but interesting to see how it's lasted. Lead was responsible for the death of members of the Franklin expedition, the old cans had large lead solder seams, maybe the cold temperatures caused the lead to leak in to the food quicker. There bodies were preserved in the ice an they did tests an the amount of lead in there bodies was way too much, hence the cause of death, thankfully we have come a long way since those days an food technology has vastly improved, I wonder what our present day food will look like in the future, will it hold up.
I have that same bowl!😲Best ever for potato chips/popcorn! Solid workmanship, lol had it since I was born! back in the 70's! Moms with good taste and they know quality!😁Keep up the amazing work you do here man!🖒Happy Healthy and Safe NY 2021!!🍾🎊😎✌
This kind of reminds me of a batch of pickled eggs I made once and I put them in my cellar refrigerator and forgot about them. They sat in there for over 1 year. When I opened them up my dog didn't want them and he usually eats EVERYTHING, but I ate them and they were just fine. Just that the vinegar taste was very overpowering.
Neat little video ! Your a brave man lol....I find this stuff so interesting I'm doing a test right now with farm fresh eggs washed and coated in mineral oil they are saposed to be good for like 6 to 9 months so the first batch is almost 2 months along and just started the second but am excited to do a vid cooking and trying them at 3 and 6 months. Thanks for sharing!
The idea is to keep them from being exposed to oxygen. I do not recall the name of the substance, but I was told that there is a thick liquid that farmers used to immerse eggs in to preserve them (before refrigeration).
