It's fuckin grouse. Victorian railways is THE pinnacle of rail in the southern hemisphere. I was wondering when I was going to see these come out on HO gauge. I hope they bring out some VR Fast Parcels (blue & yellow) trains.
@Comeng998
@Comeng998 Год назад
There already are! Auscision Models released the Taits and Parcels recently. The Parcels sold like hotcakes as well. Too bad they are out of era for the railway, would have loved to have taken a look at one.

@@Comeng998 Taken a look at the Fast Parcels? Yes, I had the priviledge of riding in one from Burnley to Hawthorn one afternoon in 1981. They used to stop at many stations up until around 1985 I think it was. Whenever I was at Burnley waiting for a train to the city I'd have a look inside when they stopped. They were carrying all sorts of stuff. The station staff then would call people to let them know their parcels were ready to pick up.

Hey Comeng998 Love the review! I recently purchased one of these VLocity models. Can you couple the units together when they are on the track or does it have to be done off the track? Thanks
@Comeng998
@Comeng998 4 года назад
G'day, Cheers. From when I had last coupled one together (which hasn't been for at least over 1 year), I have been able to couple them while railed on track, just ensuring all the pins are aligned correctly and not to force and bend the pins. Uncoupling however has been found to be easier when taking them off the track, again making sure to not force them too much breaking the couplings. Also from what I remember, it definitely isn't a model you'll want to hold in the air when fully coupled, at least from my experiences. Hope this helps.

Awesome video mate!!! Are there any models of the Melbourne metro? Like any X’trapolis or Comeng? That would also be pretty cool!
@Comeng998
@Comeng998 4 года назад
Unfortunately there is currently no models of the current Metro fleet at the moment. There are variants of the Hitachi and older in brass, and Auscision are releasing the Taits at some point. Indeed would love to get a Comeng or two whenever anyone releases them.

Do you have to take off the body shell to put on the step accessories?
@Comeng998
@Comeng998 3 года назад
Not 100% sure as the model has been handed back to its owner since the completion and uploading of this video. I wouldn't think so though, recalling how where the steps are located, they could just lock on to under the chassis.

Hi Mate, where can i buy something like this? my son, so much love the vline train he watched this video and now he wants me to buy same as this.
@Comeng998

Howdy, most of the variants of this model were available from most model railway and hobby shops, however in the time since this video was made pretty much all of the variants are out of stock. There might be some available from third party vendors, though prices for the already high model are being marked up quite a bit.

@Comeng998 2 года назад
Sorry, not 100% sure on availability as most local stores are now out of stock for the sets, and now it has been around 4 years since the last release. The particular model in the video was a limited edition, so it's even more unlikely anymore are available. I wouldn't be surprised if a rerun is done at some point though.

Initially when the model was released, it was $660. All the variations are now out of stock and the value of the models can be higher than the recommended retail price these days.

where do you get the models from
@Comeng998
@Comeng998 3 года назад
There are many places to acquire the models depending if your planning to head to a shop or comfortable ordering online. In Melbourne, VIC, we have something like Train World out of Brighton, who specialises in model railways, or shops like Metro Hobbies and Hearns Hobbies (based out of the CBD), who have a range of hobbies, but have a decent catalogue of model railway stuff as well. Most shops have their own e-stores or you can even purchase direct from the manufacture for some models, if you know what you want particularly.

Howdy, The tracks are acquired from various local hobby retailers as either track pieces or from train sets.

I Put these on my track and turned them on and then sparks came out of the wheels. when i took off the trian my track was on fire. so dont buy these
@Comeng998
@Comeng998 3 года назад
Now, that is very interesting. Although I don't own this model, I've played around with quite a few of them over the years, and the one featured has had many hours of running though, not as much as some other models. I feel like this is something that needs to be risen up with Southern Rail Models, but we haven't had any issues with them here.

U need reliable tracks. If u get the wrong tracks, ur train could break.
