Viacom (now ViacomCBS) not only owned Paramount Home Video (now Paramount Home Entertainment), but owned Republic Pictures Home Video starting in late 1994.

I wonder if all of the original Betty Boop cartoons might have the original Paramount logos restore instead of the UM&M and NTA plastering. It might in future Blu-Ray releases. I’ve seen people did the Betty Boop shorts with the original Paramount logos which was either a Popeye DVD sets or some sort of a movie or something, or perhaps from a 9.5mm prints from the UK that has the original Paramount logo intact, it might be a great idea.

I hate to tell you this, but U.M.& M. cut the Paramount logos straight off the original camera negatives, rendering them lost forever. I know some shorts, such as Bimbo's Initiation and Snow White, had Paramount logos spliced back onto new prints prepared at UCLA, but for the most part, the altered titles on the B&W shorts are permanent, with U.M.& M. not aware that people are now wanting to see these in their original versions, and most definitely not aware that these alterations have lasted for more than 60 years, LONG after U.M. & M. was acquired by NTA.

@@thehernandezmediacorporation You're right! These were from the 1950's to be exact when early syndication was the thing when it comes to early TV. Look at "Superman", the first syndicated TV show from 1953 with George Reeves, and the "Lone Ranger" from 1949 or 1950. Those were early TV shows before they brought the cartoons in. UM&M was the first TV distributor for the pre-50 Paramount cartoons until NTA took over, and then, Guild Films also did the 1930-43 B&W "Looney Tunes", and so did AAP for their pre-48 WB cartoons and the "Popeye" cartoons until United Artists TV took over, and also, Harvey Films, a TV division of Harvey Comics where they did the post-50 Paramount cartoons after "Matty's Funday Funnies" on ABC where it went to syndication. Paramount never had a TV production company until 1968 when it was originally Desilu.
