"whoever closed last night, there were a few things we had to fix" I think many fast food closers can relate to this line when they come in for their shifts
It’d be pretty boring all you do to close is wipe tables, sweep and mop the front and back take the food and put it in the fridge and count all the bread and wraps and stuff and then count all the money in the register and do a cash drop and that’s it
I hope you read this Milad. I recently subscribed to your channel, only a couple of days ago. For some reason I find it very restful and calming to watch your videos. That's kinda strange isn't it, since you are always so busy with your job in the videos. Keep up the good work and satisfying content! Much love from the Netherlands.
I’m confused bc at my job we don’t take all the containers out for the night we just put lids on them. I think that’s bc our food line thing is chilled as like a fridge
I've worked on a food chain kinda like subway (like with a line and cooking in front of customers) and we did the same thing, just lids and done, mainly because our line was literally above a fridge, so the place where we store the food line was connected directly to the fridge below. Maybe that's why Milad keeps them at the back fridge at night
I worked at local sandwich place similar to subway and we had to take everything to the fridge at night and refresh the containers in the morning. Also did you guys see in the video that they stored a majority of those containers on the floor in the walk-in👀
@@pot_hockets yees, but I get it tho, sometimes my store also struggled to get the whole store inventory in the fridges, even more when it's delivery day. It's not that good leaving things on the floor, but I guess sometimes you need to.
Unfortunately, there are only few Subway branches here in the Philippines that's why I only ate there once. I hope that if I study hard and smart, I'll be successful in life and achieve my goals like being able to go to my dream country which is the US.
Hi!! Thank you so much for sharing your videos!! I used to work at Subway!! I loved it and watching your videos makes me miss it 😔 But unfortunately I had to quit because they needed me to help out at a store that was so much further away of a commute and I couldn't afford it...but I do miss the store I started at. Now I am making more, but if I had a chance to work or just help out at the Subway I started at again I definitely would!!
they don't or I should say we don't cause I work at a subway where I live we put the food either on the shelves in the cooler or where I work and at every subway there's a fridge under the back counter up front and we put the food there. never mind I just saw that the food on the floor and I don't know why they are doing that cause if the health inspector came and saw that they would have given them a violation
@@bretthibbs6083 Yep, a major one. I've worked in several restaurants and you never, ever store food on the floor of a walk-in fridge or freezer. Or on the floor anywhere, for that matter. 😵💫
@@bretthibbs6083 right, at my subway when we close we just stack all of the food onto the retarder and roll it into the cooler. it's never okay to stack food on the floor like this, I honestly can't believe they haven't been called out for this
Milad i have a question, when you finish some orders you wrap it up with the paper you used to prepare the sandwich on, then some you don't? Why is it used only sometimes? Thanks! Great vids btw
I don’t know if he discussed this or not but one thing I observed that if the sub is loaded with veggies he tends to use the paper he used to prepare the sub in case some of the veggies fall on the paper.
as a subway worker myself I can agree with reaper. But. There's also another reason. If the sandwich is very large and hard to fold it isn't easy to pick it up normally with just the bread, so picking it up by the paper is a lot easier.
I hope the health department for your area watches this. I'm never eating qt another subway again seeing how many violations you did during your opening.
Milard - can you make a Vietnamese banh mi (sandwich)? The typical Vietnamese banh mi includes a variety of meat (headcheese, cha lua (a type of sausage), etc.), but you could use the cold cut combo at Subway. Banh mi also typically include pate, pickled carrots and daikon, and cilantro, which I know Subway does not have - but I figured you could be creative with it (for example, use pickles in place of the pickled carrots and daikon). Note: Instead of cold cut combo, you could also use egg and Maggi sauce (could substitute with soy sauce).
Is there a certain planogram that everything has to be laid out by? Or do the best associates just put everything where they think they know where to reach, memory wise or something like that?
Sadly opening up the sandwich unit wasn’t that easy 20 years ago. Older units were just a big hole and you had to construct the dividers with metal bars
I just finished working 13 hours at the Italian restaurant I work at and idk why I’m laying in bed watching people work I got 8 hours until I gotta be back at work
Tonight's dinner: Footlong on Italian with turkey and provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper and sweet onion sauce. That sweet onion sauce is amazing. Subway should bottle and sell that stuff.
How do you come to the conclusion that it’s from the other day? Did you ever work in a retail store or any sorta place that gets stuff even before the late shift ends? They can’t put it in the shelfs before going home
Not done an open but I do the closes Friday to Monday, I close myself sundays but we just got warned last night that we can’t be doing that anymore our towns a bit dangerous right now so I think this will be my last close myself for some time lol our work has no men except the shop hoppers who come in and help sometimes if we need them
