To be honest, I pray we make it to “Guide You Home” and that the Spyro music doesn’t get dropped because it’s views don’t do well. Guide you Home was the first song I ever really LISTENED to beyond it just playing in the background, so it’ll always be special to me for that.
People rag on this entry in the Spyro franchise but I love it just as much as any of the other more traditional platformer games, thank you Marco for giving it a shot.
Back then when I played this Dark Style of Spyro I didn't quite pay attention but I listen with a conscience and a professional reacter, know I realize that it had a phenomenal touch of classic music. Music which could fit a Final Fantasy series. Amazing! A kid's game like Spyro can even appeal to an older age audience. I like it! The music adds that tone to it. 🙏
Though I was never able to play the new beginning. As I was listening through the soundtrack of this game I remembered this song because I heard it in Dawn of the Dragon when you use your fury attack. I find out as I keep listening that allot of the old songs are re used. This piece is incredibly effective however to deliver that scary yet powerful feeling. Cynder is very much the big bad of the game. At the end you find out she was artificially grown and made more powerful and corrupted but she is actually as little dragon just like Spyro. Cynder was taken when she was an egg the same night the temple was raided and another dragon by the name of Ignitus rescued Spyro as an egg.
Yes! Yes! I’m so glad you’ve listened to this! Gaul (Well of Souls) and Gaul (Black Powers) are the final boss themes from this game’s sequel, and they’re both amazing, too! Whoever requested this, THANK YOU!
1 second into the music and I'm already surprised. I was NOT expecting that from Spyro. Then again I don't know much about that game, and I've only seen a tiny bit of gameplay and some images and that's it.
This was a surprising notification. I ADORE the Spyro A New Beginning soundtrack and I’d love it if you did reactions to more pieces from this game, especially the credits theme. Ridiculously stellar classical music this game has.
Despite the end boss battle of this game being pretty easy, especially now that I'm an adult, it instills such fear within me, and I think it has to do with the music and how much the story hypes up the villain before battling her. The game hardly even shows you what she looks like until the end of the game. The boss battles in these games don't feel like you're fighting an average evil doer like Maleficent or a comic supervillian whose trying to get revenge or power. It feels like you're fighting a grand and incomprehensable evil akin to Sauron or the devil himself. I play these games on a regular basis ONLY for the boss battles sometimes!
I really enjoy these Spyro soundtracks! I've never been interested in the franchise, but something like this, and the Dragon City Golem Encounter, with all of the classical music and choral elements really allows you to dig into your training make these videos highly educational and engaging from beginning to end.
I've watched a several of your videos now, especially when you expose Symphonic and Opera oriented people to the world of video game music, I appreciate your takes and as well gain insight from a musical perspective. So I have a request, I'd like for you to react and give your take to both Dancing Mad and One Winged Angel again but the Black Mages version Idk the whole story but The Black Mages and Nobou Uematsu collabed and they gave us fans, imo the best versions of probably the most iconic FF franchise songs. I believe Uematsu true vision for said songs were accurately performed in this way and imo especially Dancing Mad!!!!! Would love to hear your takes!!!!! Here take my sub too lol
This music is for the second part of the final boss battle in A New Beginning, against Cynder. She's gone to Convexity, a barrier world that exists as a sort of pocket dimension that exists between the realms. She's just gathered the last of the stolen power required to break the seal containing the Dark Dragon Malefor, and Spyro chases her there in a last ditch effort to stop her from undoing the seal.
I'd love to see you analyse and react to more of the music from The Legend of Spyro series! I feel like it's one of the most underrated OSTs in the video game sphere.
I really love the whispering at the end of the song. I'm not sure if it was ever confirmed, but I always thought those whispers came from The Dark Master Malefor, who was either able to see the battle or feel it and trying to influence the battle in some way.
Legend of Spyro was a very interesting take of the more innocent and family oriented first trilogy for ps1. I personally prefer this for the more serious and at times dark themes and because of the gameplay. Been a few years back since i played it and never paid attention to how amazing the music was, so I'm glad that I'm getting to experience it in this new light through your reactions and perspective! I was wondering if i could suggest you a couple of soundtracks from Code Vein, as a game it isn't perfect, but the music, story and characters are phenomenal. My suggestions would be Eva Roux's theme Requiem, performed by the voice actress herself, and theres also the "Tranquility and Light" version of the soundtrack, which is a very different feel from the normal one and with an opera singer instead, so i think both are worth a listen if you'd like, and as a second suggestion, Memories of the Lost, and as there's about 5 or 6 version of it i strongly suggest checking the version uploaded by earlgrey as it gradually goes over each version. Hope you find the time to read this, i absolutely love your content, I've seen very few people with not only the technical knowledge to understand music, but also the sensitivity to properly convey and connect with the emotions music can give.
Marco, I would love to see your reaction to Lineage 2 music by Bill Brown and Jamie Christopherson. It's a music ost classic, loved and respected by everyone I know, but I think not enough people talk about it and react to. I think Shepard's Flute, Forest calling and Unicorn's rest are a "must hear" there. Please consider.
This game was my childhood! I have always adored the integration of the choir in the Legend of Spyro OSTs - I'd recommend checking out the Malefor boss fight music as well at some point - it has some great harmonies as well as some nice paring with Latin lyrics! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U8z9xbYtGzk.html
Bro this man knows what he's saying also new herebut love the way you tackle the music of all your videos I have one game never heard of an old gem try it lost odyssey by the composer who made final fantasy music from the beginning
would love to see you react to the main theme of smash bro's: brawl! great piece with some real fun choir and opera parts, and I think you would love it!
Never played Spyro, very positively surprised this is from such an old game But also wanted to ask, have you ever thought of checking out the ost for Blasphemous? I think the name tells you why I think it might be worth checking out
One of my favorate tracks in the whole series, the music of these games is just perfection, I recognise that DoTD being the best game of all time is entirely my subjective and very bias opinion, but the one aspect that I believe is objectively perfect is the music, I've never encounterred another series with music that hits this hard this consistantly.
Hey Marco! I haven’t found a song before that I wanted to recommend since typically you’ve already covered all my favourites, but one I’d like to recommend is the song “One Who Craves Souls” from “Demon Souls” There are two versions, the original and the remastered version. Both are good, but the original especially has a feeling to it that the remastered version simply can’t recreate, so if you’re gonna do one, I’d do the original. It will catch you off-guard for a song from a souls game
Marco you should serachand listen the musics from a game called "they are billions". It is about a post apocalypse where, literally, there are billions of zombies/infecteds. In the middle of a great crater, there is the last city of humankind and you are in charge of expanding around the map (the campaign mode) and the empire that you will expand is also set with steampunk technology. The game is a RTS, similar with starcraft 2 or warcraft. So , the music that i want you to listen is called "incoming menance", where does this song begin when a giant horde of infected comes to your base to destroy it and you have to defend it. Sorry about my english, its not my primary language, i think you will like it. And last but not least, much success to you!
Would love to maybe one day see a video on either the soundtrack for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles or Baten Kaitos: origins. Specifically Le Ali Del Principio from the latter of the 2, in that it's not only a [imo] beautiful song but also has a bit of interesting trivia involved with it, in that the song is composed by Motoi Sakuraba, with lyrics written by his wife which were translated into italian and then sung by their, at the time, 9-year old daughter. and crystal chronicles because the soundtrack makes use of many Medieval and renaissance era instruments, specifically ''Sound of the Wind'' being a particularly good song.
Do 'DKC: Return to Krocodile Isle' , would love to get even more eyes on it already as it is a fan project that actually went out of its way to get back all the surviving voice cast from the old cartoon to reprise their roles. I know its a bit different from the usual just music, but I think given they do a musical number, you might get a kick out of it as well.
Some songs you should listen to is the other 4 boss themes from pizza tower. They are pepperman strikes!, calzonification, pumpin’ hot stuff and pizza time never ends. The 4th bosses theme is definitely my favourite out of the 4 because it’s sounds great and also the story of why it sounds the way it does but honestly all 4 are great.
Hey I was watching your from software extravaganza and you so Ludwig was on your top 10 best video game music of all time, I was wondering what the other Music you put on your top 10 list?
I would like you to react to the boss champion's gravetender issue. From the DLC of Dark souls 3. The truth is that it is a masterpiece of theme, in my opinion.
Marco I am going to throw out another ace combat suggestion. Enchanter I and Enchanter II, back when you watched the anniversary concert you commented on the tension it had. I would love to watch a more comprehensive analysis.
Hi Marco, would you plese give a shot to Mafia main theme by Vladimír Šimůnek? I absolutely love the song and it suits the game story wonderfully. Thank you :)
Hey marco, if you happen to for some miraculous reason to still be looking for more tracks to listen to, i would humbly recommend a few tracks that i find to be incredible, you always liked 40k, so here are 2 tracks that rarely get any coverage, due to the game not being that widespread, who deserve it. 1. Dawn of war 2, For the Craftworld context, craftworld are the planet size ships of the Aeldari (elf people) who are at an ever decline, and their souls are ever hungered after by the dark god slaneesh, wich happen to make each death of their people ever more grave. a threat to such an craftworld has to be met, no matter how dire.. 2. Dawn of war 2, Wrath of khain the invocation of khain often is the last card in the hand of the aeldari as summoning the avatar of their bloody handed god, requires a great sacrifice, the "young king" especially chosen for this duty. 3. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Ost, Dirge For Planets 4. Premonition Metro Exodus 5. The Witcher 3 Wolven storm Hope you enjoy, love the channel cheers
@@MarcoMeatball shame, but you could still give the non Mili tracks a listen, of course. Unless there’s a jurisdiction there too. As far as I know there is not.
Loving these vids. Its so interesting to see this perspective! Please have a listen to 'Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns Main Theme.' Blows my mind every time :)
