We created a big ol ship, took it for a test ride and when we return our planet is destroyed so we have to journey through space to our homeworld *Wait!*... Thats a different game i was thinking about.
The track Speech from Earth is such a gorgeous choral piece from this soundtrack. I mean the whole thing is great, just like Mechanicus. They're a good contrast but still compliment each other well.
Ixion is a masterpiece in music for space, I played that and by God the music is extremely immersive, I also quitted that cuz I made a mistake and 90% of my progress in a chapter was undone. Twice.
I can imagine. Opening scene, a lone ship can be seen traversing the void as the camera zoom in the music becomes more upbeat showing us the daily lives of the crew and their families.
Oh yes, finally we got Ixion! Such a unique sound style and amazing mood setter for the game. From joyous adventure to creepy chills down your spine... Guillaume David is a master of space music! I hope you can find some time for more of it Marco. Cheers!
Guillaume David is a real king. Fun fact, he's a good friend of Arnaud Roy who did OST of Endless Space. You can listen to "Across The Void" which is one of the best of Ixion OST
Hell yeah man! Always love to see David Guillaume on this channel) So.... I love his music but... I couldn't really comprehend it. It is so incredibly beautiful and powerful but... only with your analysis i can really understand the meaning of this power and beauty There's something you said at the beginning that grabbed my attention You said that David used Music to create Ambience but... In Mechanicus when listening to a track called Noosphere you said that he used Ambiance to create Music And... I find that very interesting) There's also something else that i got after watching your video. Its just that... Now while listening to Mechanicus i picture a situation where Faith/Hope and Science lead to a somewhat dark path and while listening to OXION i again picture Faith/Hope and Science but here it leads to bright future. These soundtracks show different stories with the same "objects" Yeah.... I'm glad that you gave it a listen Its because of you i can really dive into *understanding* and *feeling* music Yeah i enjoyed Mechanicus and IXION before your videos but... Its with *You* i can step even further in my musical understanding and its *You* who makes me love these soundtracks even more And i want to thank you) Have a nice day
I have played ixion 3 times and the 3rd was on the new hard difficulty and it never once occurred to me to use ixion music as focus music. Ive struggled with focus music recently and the music while i was playing let me get immersed in my in-game tasks and well... Focus. Thanks for the brilliant/obvious-in-hindsight idea!
For a similar kind of sound, may I suggest the main / menu theme of a game Surviving Mars? It gives me such a hopeful, optimistic feel whenever I listen to it.
Great video as always, hoping you review the Omori OSTs / play the game some time since they are probably among the most heartfelt soundtracks and story I've experienced. Specifically "Duet", "It means everything", "Omori", "By your side", "My Time", as well as all the phobia themes and bangers like "You were wrong. Go back." and "World's End Valentine". Would be awesome if you could cover these
Bill Brown - Forest Calling, Bill Brown - Shepherd's Flute. Original tracks from Lineage 2. I'm willing to bet that these tracks will be in your top ten favorites, if not already
It put me in mind of the music you might hear in a documentary about space, and I mean that in a good way. A little transnationalism, crossing-of-borders style upbeat vibe. It's kinda funny that there's so much hope in this piece, considering, uh, well, everything that happens.
I really hope you listen to Across the Void. It’s my favorite track from Ixion after hearing the soundtrack for the first time. The soundtrack actually inspired me to watch a playthrough of the game and now I want to play it myself.
U totally should react to some Path of Exile soundtracks. They have some soundtracks that are just a masterpiece like Legion soundtrack, Echoes of Atlas and probably the newest one Crucible. But they have great music in general.
I'm curious if you have heard any songs from Kingdom Hearts? If not, I very very highly recommend the song "Nachtflügel" from Kingdom Hearts 3. It's a stunning boss theme and sounds like something you'd enjoy!
Man I want to see what you think of early Diablo swing orchestra they mix a lot of genres and opera, also libera me from hell, that theme from the anime tengen toppa Gurren lagan, unfortunately I have no money jaja
You should really listen to amaranthyn by Ivan Torrent. It's the first song that made me feel... Cheated. Yes, cheated! It subverted my expectations of The song by having a different ending, one that i didn't expect.
May I suggest the OST to the lamp encounter in Crota's End raid from Destiny 1, this is really the only link I can find to it, but genuinely one of the best songs I have ever heard in a video game. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zXPJ6C52Jes.html
I have 2 songs to suggest they are both from the same game. Heroes of Might and Magic 4 1. Hope 2. The Preseve (I want to hear u sing along this song!)
This may sound like a very odd request, but I think you should check out some Fortnite music. The music from events specifically can be surprisingly dramatic and beautiful at times, and they even incorporate motifs and themes from other tracks.
@@Cross31415 The very concept it starts with makes it impossible to root for the people you are supposed to keep alive given what they did in the intro. The game developers made a HUGE mistake revealing what happens to the moon the moment you warp out. If they had kept that mystery till the midpoint or the end game the game would have been passable. I was rooting for the UN the entire game because of that stupid design decision. The people on that station are supposed to be the best of the best and yet they act like headless chickens sabotating their own survival at EVERY BLOODY TURN. I have seen LEMMINGS with better self preservation instincts and skills than these EXEMPLARS of the human species. That's not demanding. That's STUPIDITY.
@@Schinak popularity is not a metric of whether art is good or not, seems like you have issue with some narrative choices (that's perfectly alright) but also got wrecked gameplay-wise, and now just looking to validate your opinion here.
SPEECH FROM EARTH! My man I love you checking this ost, your patreon has taste but please go one step further and Check out speech from earth! Another step would be Vanirs legacy which is the main theme of the game/trailer song
