Hi Jess! Omg I feel like you now when u say “So much going on & we’re only 1 min in…” lol. So much I want to tell u, but I’ll try & keep it as short as possible. First of all I HAVE to tell u that u look absolutely gorgeous! Whether or not u intentionally wore a yellow gown like Belle’s, I love it! (I suspect u knew exactly what u were doing 😊). And I’ve said this before but I cannot stress enough that the information you impart has profoundly changed EVERYTHING about singers/singing for me. Like millions of others I would listen to a song, like or dislike it, & that would be the end of it. I knew if a singer was gifted but not HOW their choices/knowledge/experience/talent enhanced their performances. My mom was a teacher for 40 yrs & she always said “Education is key to everything in life”. Your ability to take what can be extremely difficult to interpret & translate it into something a layperson can actually understand is phenomenal & SO appreciated! What good is a technical analysis if only a trained professional knows what you’re talking about? You have opened up a whole new world (Disney reference! Lol) for me that both educates & delights me. The best way I can describe it is that scene in The Wizard of Oz where everything is blk & white & then suddenly Dorothy steps into a world of vivid color. You have done that for me. Even how the guitar part was introduced, the melody change was ubrupt and out of no where. I think they should've rearranged the guitar solo to fit rather the theme and the mood of the performance.
The guitar solo was Meh. No expression to it at all. Every note should be expressed there’s no attempt to do that. She’s a serviceable guitarist. But that was a difficult transition.
