My absolute favorite band of the 80’s. I wore out three (3) cassette tapes of Love at first bite prior to getting a CD! They are the greatest rock bacon of the 80’s in my book.

I have a Scorpions CD with this song when I was stationed in Okinawa Japan, in 1989-1991. The CD is also awesome!

Klaus Meine has always had this amazing vocal since they began in 1972 with their debut album "Lonesome Crow". It was the Schenker brother (Rudolph and Michael) with Klaus who started this band, Michael left and went on to UFO from 74 to 79, while Uli Jon Roth became the lead guitarist for the scorpions during those years, 74 Fly to the Rainbow, 75 in Trance, 76 Virgin Killer, 77 Taken by Force. In 79 Michael left UFO and helped the Scorpions on the 79 Lovedrive album at the same time Mattias Jabs joined the Scorpions, The following year 1980 Michael started his own band MSG and continued to help the Scorpions out with songs he wrote for Animal Magnetism and Blackout. Michael in an interview said that the scorpions never gave him any credit for all of the songs he contributed over the years and to this day they do not see eye to eye or have any relationship with each other, except when Rudolph would join his kid brother on tour for a few shows to support his band. Such amazing family and band members over the years, even Uli has been on stage with Michael on many occasions. I have the Scorpions and MSG entire collection between the two it is about 50 albums of pure awesomeness

This was our make-out song back in the 80s. Every gheto blaster under some bleachers and every car parked with steamy windows had this song playing at some point. One of the best balads ever recorded. Sidenote: as is always the case with metal bands, my man Rudolph on rythm guitar is the glue that held this together...Just like Malcolm held ACDC together.

This song came out in 1984. I was stationed in Germany from '87-'89, and had never heard this song until I was actually in Germany. You've talked about his diction, but what stands out to me is the very pronounced German accent to his English, which (IMO) adds SO much to the quality and feel of this song! Granted, I'm dating myself by saying that I rocked this song in the late 80's, but it's such an incredible song with such a talented vocalist that I truly don't care! I'll be 54 this year, btw (yeah, I'm old af! 🤣).

Whenever I hear Devin Townsend sing (not scream), it’s always given me such 80’s vibes. And I think this is why. Both singers have a certain nasality to their singing which is just bliss to listen to. Even when belting, it’s still there and I love it.

Klause Meine and Rudulph Schenker are two of the greatest composers of music of all time. The Scorpions have 2 guitarist. A lead and rythem. Rudolph is the rythem guitarist for most songs but occasionally takes over the lead guitar in the ballads. He is not the greatest or fastest guitar player in the world but he is a brilliant composer that gives his audience a feeling that is second to none. He does play the lead guitar on Still loving you at about the 4 min mark of that song.

I love the Scorpions, I remember when this song first came out, everyone just lost their minds over how good they were. Unfortunately this version cut a lot of the song out. The ending is epic, and it was completely cut off. Take the time and listen to this song in it's entirety you will see what I mean.

Still Loving You is awesome but Sails of Charon live on Musikladen TV is one of the most epic performances ever. Uli Roth is just wrecking his guitar. The entire group is playing on god mode in this performance.

Back in the mid-80s I worked overnight shift at a convenience store in a large US city. Still loving You was still in heavy radio rotation. If this song came on and I had the store to myself I would be belting out these vocals with the band.

Over the weekend I saw The Scorpions with Skid Row in Vegas. Unfortunatly they didn't play "Still Loving You" I was sad. I loved the show though, both bends were really good!

Scorps are legendary live performers! Weird fact about this song: Still Lovin You was one of the first "metal" songs to be used as free skate program (2002-2003) music for American Ice Dancers Naomi Lang and Peter Tvhernyshev. It was *very* controversial at the time, and of all figure skating categories, only ice dancers (at the time) could use music with lyrics. Naomi.Lang was also the first skater (who won medals) of Native American descent.

They make great live performances, but that particular performance isn't live. It is from a TV show and they are performing on a backing track. What you hear, is the studio recording. BTW they have just released a new album and they still rock.

This version of still loving you misses the full guitar solo and one bridge so please listen to album version as well, plus also a great one - with Vanessa Mae on violin. And - seeing how you justly like this one - Holiday is also one of those songs that got them the nym of masters of heavy metal ballad, that you should definitely hear (and yeah wind of Change is also a masterpiece... )

While those two songs are the most "popular" comparatively speaking, and not including "Winds of Change", the other two most awesome and heavy songs are "The Zoo" and "Animal Magnetism" which are two of my favorites! There are several other really great songs that never got as much radio airplay.

The funny thing is the only member you can understand is Herman, the drummer. Their accents are so thick. Yet when Klaus sings.....you can understand him.
