It was a lot of fun, Denise!! I finally had a chance to do a quick video! It’s been very busy this year at the processing center. Glad we were at the same table together!

Thanks Lindsey! Luckily, there are very few used items in the shoeboxes that we processed. However, for example, Denise saw the doll and it was clearly used. And she even asked the staff member and she told her to go ahead and take it out. So if we take something out - especially used items, we ask the staff member for double approval. Liquids and toothpaste of course, no need for additional permissions.

Thanks Gesiriech! Yes, as you know, unfortunately, there are boxes that come half full. So we are thankful for the filler donors!

Yes, Lindsey! That would be great!! I bring my filler directly to the processing center. But Denise dropped several filler boxes to the drop off center, and we found them in the filler bins of the processing center. So yes, definitely used!

Ditto on repeat "inappropriates" This year at my PC, we had beautifully handcrafted bean bags (to play catch). Unfortunately, they were filled with rice and not pellets (or similar). Sadly, we removed multiple of those bean bags. 😢

Right, Maritza? I’m honestly shocked toothpaste and candy are still in boxes! They haven’t been allowed in years. Sigh.

Thanks so much, Val! It's usually 4 hour shifts for me as well, but we took off a whole day so why not a whole shift? But you drove a LONG time to get to the processing center. Same! I was tired, hungry, and feet hurt! lol So glad you had a great experience. Once you start, you'll be back every year! lol
