Operation: Downtown - Low Level Strike Mission [Falcon BMS 4.36.3] 

Inspired by the literary work of Flight of the Intruder and recent news stories, the 440th VFW flew a custom Tactical Engagement mission to strike missile launchers, storage facility, and CnC center in the DPRK area in BMS. In the early morning darkness, three flights drove in from 50 nm out from the target at 500 feet AGL under the umbrella of SA-6's and skirting AAA units. This was a coordinated effort with one flight hitting the SA-6 site while the others hit the primary targets, and required flying the steer point marks on the Caret.
The run in was successful and all targets were hit. One way out, DPRK scrambled MiG-29's who chased us down just as we were getting to the tankers for the required fuel to get us back home. Quick action from the flights coordinated a BVR which was helped with some AI flights to eliminate the thread, only loosing one to hostile file. Another group chased us halfway back to homeplate, allowing us a breath of air to enjoy the rising sun as we descended in for recovery at Osan AB. Another successful mission completed!
